There might be some nid on spess mareen action in SM
Would be amazing, considering the graphics. They could make it all scary space hulk shit.
There might be some nid on spess mareen action in SM
In the first trailer when the nuke goes off there's a carnifex in the background. But then again in-game we've only seen Marines, Orks, Chaos and a tiny bit of guard.
I couldn't be more stoked about Space Marine. Finally we get to experience the true brutality and violence of Space Marine combat.
Also, cover systems are for pussies. These guys charge through the cover.
There's plenty of reasons for Space Marines to take cover, bol rounds, gauss rifles, a million flashlights, etc etc.
I wasnt too hopeful, with the trailer i saw that had a Marine at the door of a Valkyrie.
[release]
WARHAMMER EPIC 40,000: Final Liberation
Surprisingly, a rather obscure game in the series, Final Liberation is a TBS game based on the Warhammer 40k’s Epic system. This means that unlike Dawn of War or Chaos Gate, Final Liberation focuses on large scale battles. This means that you get to control squads of Imperial Guardsmen and Ultramarines, as well as Warlord Titans and Ork Greater Gargants. The game provides a small encyclopedia providing the information behind the sides of the conflict and the units that are used, as well as general information on Chaos, Eldar, and Tyranids (which led many to believe that an expansion pack based around those sides would be produced). The game allows to play Single Player Campaign or in Hot Seat mode against AI or a human. Only in Hot Seat, can the players get to control the Ork units directly. Imperial units tend to have better firepower and armor, while Orks aim for speed and special powers.
The Single Player campaign places the player as a Commander Militant who, alongside local PDF forces and Commissar Holt tries to stop an Ork WAAAGH that overrun most of the planet. FMV cutscenes tell important parts of the story, show off Commissar Holt in all his glory, and scare the player with rubber Orks. Gameplay can be considered to be the closest representation of Warhammer Epic 40k’s system in a video game, thus making the possession of the game to be one of the goals of a 40k fans. However, the game is based on a Third Edition of Warhammer 40k, and is therefore slightly outdated, if not nostalgically charming with old unit designs and original, pre-retcon backstory. The music in the game has been produced by The Samsara Project (Who prefer to keep quiet about this).

I just watched that, and I see no carnifex.
Though I did see a Titan.

I still love the guard for some reason, they just seem badass as shit to me.

Best DoW1 theme in my opinion.
Look below.
Oh my lord, every place I look to find this fucking carnifex has the video taken down for one reason or another.
I will keep searching however.

TELL ME YOUR SECRETS CARNIFEX.

Bad quality, but I found it.
Why the hell is there a Carnifex in the middle of an ork invasion, is my question.
I remember a Carnifex in it as well, before it was confirmed that Orks were the primary villains. There was definitely a Carnifex.
Maybe its a looted Carnifex.
This would only be acceptable if: A, it was one of many looted things (Monolith, anyone?), and B, we could destroy the controlling device and make it smash orks and SMs alike.

Carnifexes and other tyranids can get seperated from the Hive Mind like Old One Eye.
As a result, they may end up on any planet with no memory, i'd think that Carnifex is suffering from the same fate, as you don't usually see carnifexes on Forge Worlds.
I hope that answers your question.
Also, i expected the thread title to be ''BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD'', you filthy slaves of the Dead Emperor. :colbert:
Carnifex just lives there and only ventures out right when the SMs are warring against the Orks and promptly gets gibbed by a titan.
That poor bastard.

Carnifex saves the day
am i the only one who wants a rogue trader/dark heresy rpg game?

I like that trailer more than the newer one. 40k always has the coolest damn narrators

I agree. And I find it funny how THQ has pulled that specific trailer off both their website and youtube.
Apparently the carnifex is a secret they did not mean to unleash.
Relic has been affected badly by being so close to Games Workshop, and took their habbit of Retconning everything.

[sp]Very likely the chaos cultist have been holding stray or imported Tyranids in the underhive for gladiatorial torture. Cultists were already shown in the leaked first trailer, and there's bloodletter minibosses. Also if the orks arrived on a hulk, emperor only knows what else they brought.[/sp]
Old One Eye is still tethered to the hive just fine, so was the Doom of Malan'tai. Being alone doesn't necessarily entail being without. Patriarchs serve the Hive unconnected as a matter of course.
Last I checked Hive Mind may leave an entire fleet to die out or may live single, well developed beings to stay on the planets, causing fun and shenanigans.
Per cruddace, and Forgeworld Codex which has yet to be retconned; after gaunt level, the hive can't leave you to anything, you're either indy or your not, if not you go feral, if you are you do what you damn well please, which is why classifying is kinda pointless and against the gribbly Alien/T-Rex motif.
Genestealers have free will for a rather obvious set of reasons.
Good megathread
Tyranid Megathread.
Because nothing else could be better.
Tau for life.
I haven't done anything to do with Warhammer for a couple of years now but Tau are still my favourite.
Also you're missing Chaos Rising intro
I didn't think there was one.
Anyway, will update the first post later today. Is there a limit on how much stuff can be in one post? Might not be enough for all the RP stuff.
Did the story fro Space Marine change? I thought you played as Severeal SPESS MEHRENS but now it's just Captain Titus.

Is that an official GW pic? (as in from the site) That is just pathetic. Back in the day i remember bikes were like £5, metal models were £7...

I liked Tau up to the point where IG could skimmerspam up the ass.
I can't help but notice the miniature series "Warmachine" being heavily influenced by Warhammer 40k
One example:

The "Ogrun" assault corps
That killteam looks interesting, the MMO will be shite though. Pretty, but shite.
GIVE US A TOTAL WAR: W40K!
Dark Millennium Online isn't even out until like 2013 so it's not like they don't have the time to make it a good game.

We have only seen 1 trailer. There is no reason to assume it willbe bad. What i have seen so far looks good, it apparantly will not be like WoW.
