I was going to suggest that their "poor eyesight" could have been a joke on the authors part because the Tau are known for their propensity towards long-range combat.

It's reasonable.
It'd wipe out the Ork threat quickly so the Imperium wouldn't have to worry about the Orks gaining access to their weaponry on the forgeworld.

Well perhaps they would be able to evacuate the remaining Imperial Guard, leaving sentry guns to cover their escape.
Though, a virus bomb would be even better than Exterminatus, because it wouldn't destroy the forge world.

A virus bomb is a form of exterminatus.
recently got DoW2 Retribution collectors for £8, best £8 I spent, by far the best campaign than the other 2 and the graphics / animations seem to be alot sharper and smoother

Retributions campaign is short and there's 5 of the same thing.

It might actually. The planet-wide firestorm could damage or destroy a lot of the installations. Either way, they aren't in use anymore so they'd be very difficult to get hold of.
The ones in use are either one or two stage cyclonic (former fucks up the planet bad, the latter even moreso) and Atmospheric incinerator makes planets burn in space for months, so the planet won't be usable afterwards.

It's not really used much post heresy I imagine because of the bombing of Isstvan 3 and wherever else Horus saw fit to use them.

They actually are it's just extremely rare to see them, I'd suspect it'd be the really old ships that somehow managed to keep hold of a few.

Went to Border's the other day but sadly most of the store was picked dry. I did end up getting battle for the Abyss and Imperial Glory.
Which I'm actually enjoying so far. Although there seems to be alot of incompetents in this brimlock regiment, which is unproportional to the ammount of badasses which is one. But he's an evil commissar. :v:
So I ordered the first ciaphas cain omnibus, dead men walking and Last Chancers from amazon just this afternoon. Eagerly await them :D
