Necrons in DoW are so incredibly OP, I love them. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] Especially killer Flayed Ones squads.
been thinking about this for quite a while now: Brothers of the Shield: A Chapter formed out of penance. They specialize in complete area denial, they can stop the enemy's advance almost completely. Each marine thinks they are riddled with sin and inscribes his sins onto his right Pauldron so as to never forget them. They're pretty sad that way.

Or perhaps they are mentally trained to a level they accept their failure and turn it into a personal oath to never fail again. I like to think the chapter master is like a walking list of sins he commited.
The chapter master should wear a suit ressembling Penance's outfit. Note : the suit is full of spikes inside so the wearer gets mutilated. Penance's suit contains the precise number of children he killed starting Marvel's civil war in the form of spikes. Yummy.

You could have the right pauldron being the original chapter where the marine is from, and the left one being coloured in a colour that describes their sin.
It would be even better if the armor was cut in half. One black side with all the sins written on it, from pauldron to boot, and the other side varying depending on where the marine comes from. The helmet and backpack are varying according to rank.
That wouldnt work since some chapters have color schemes that uses both halves
The black side is the right one, just take the older chapter's left color, or use a different color for the chestplate/pauldron and the leg/arm.
Not sure also Face Hammer chapter Looks like a walking Marlboro pack
Looks like a walking Marlboro pack
I would gladly use this into battle knowing what it represents 'n' all that
Where can I find skins for singleplayer?
Oh yeah and my friend's chapter.
Cant screen mine but I'm using Coal black as a main color, refurbished gold for details. The backpack and helmet have their main/details color inverted, left pauldron and left arm in full refurbished gold. The emblem is the yellow scythes for space marines, thousand sons for chaos.
For a Thousands Sons alike warband, I was thinking something similiar to PunchedInFac's idea. They seal souls from the warp into runed power armour, so the non sorceror troops are a mixture of chaos and loyalist marines with various colour schemes from random chapters and warbands/legions, with the pauldrons the warband colours (I was thinking purple and gold). Sorcerors themselves would be in purple and gold all over. EDIT: And for their name, "The Phylactery", "The Binded Souls" or "The Lichkin" came to mind.
Once I wrote the stupidest fanfiction of Warhammer 40 000 ever. It didn't feature gay sex (thank god) but instead a modern day man who got trapped into the warp for an unconceivable amount of time until the imperium era, during which he got released and gained superpowers for no reason. It was stupid as hell, but it was intentional and very fun to do. The funniest part is, I didn't know shit about Warhammer back then so I had to write the whole thing under advice of a warhammer fan. Was fun.
Aren't Rubric Marines basically like zombies seeing as they can't think? I know they can be directed and 'controlled', but they sound pretty much like zombies. Also, i like their battle cry, 'All is dust'.

As the Codex says: "Although these living suits still move and function, and can respond the orders like a sentient man, they are little more than automatons. They quickly fall into inactivity unless a Thousands Son Sorceror is nearby to direct them, although in the blaze and fire of battle something of their former battle-hunger returns and they move with greater clarity and purpose."

Playing Tabletop 40k with some people in Vassal. 2 Chaos teams vs Tyranids and Space Marines, is awesome.

Question regarding Lasguns. Since it's basically a laser, and lasers aren't like bullets, there's no kickback or recoil, right? So this basically means that if you're a good shot, you can hit things much easier than with, say, a bolt pistol.

Or something. Maybe it's a chemical laser? Also, can someone post some pictures of the armor permutations for space marine?
