I understood that, but weren't they gray?

Are you thinking of the Iron Hands? Or maybe Crimson Fists (although they're not gray)
Just completed Space Marine, was great game. Had a few minor issues though:
[sp] 1. It's a Forgeworld, yet no Skitarii or Techpriests are seen. Not even bodies. Also no Servitors.
2. Complete lack of any Guard vehicles other than Salamanders, Valkyries, and basilisks. And they weren't even used except for a few Valkyries. No Baneblades, thunderbolts, Leman Russes...or anything you would except to be defending Titans/an important Forge world.
3. Titan didn't do alot.
4. Lack of Guardsman guarding the Titan or the Inquisitors lab - there was a destroyed Salamander in the lab yet no reason why it would be there.
5. General lack of anything other than basic Guardsman with Lasguns. Not even any Laspistols/Sargeants.
6. No Space battles or even seeing ships other than the start and the end scene.
7. NO variety with the Orks. They all look the same and use the same weapons. They didn't even use Sluggas. [/sp]

there are several other fist chapters, however
Since the lore says it has recoil, I like to think they work by releasing a helium-neon mixture into a pressurized cylinder (active laser medium), resulting in a red beam of light shining through a stream of helium-neon gasses propelled by a magnetic field from a Bussard cone thing.
Or something. Maybe it's a chemical laser?
Also, can someone post some pictures of the armor permutations for space marine?
The laser supposedly has enough force to throw people it hits to the ground. At least in some renditions.
Which could mean it's a helluva powerful laser I guess.

[sp]2. I did see a broken chimera right after you go to Lieutenant Mira's outpost.[/sp]
[sp]3. The Titan wasn't even powered up until near-end game, and the fact that it fractured the orbital spire to disrupt the warp portals was useful[/sp]
[sp]4. I also agree with you there, even the higher ranking guardsmen, like the Colonel you meet on a lift after chatting with him on the frequency had no more than a lasgun, standard guard armor with a cadian gas mask helmet.
[sp]7. The lack of variety with the orks is indeed true, but i did find a slugga on the ground once, i think[/sp]

About two:
Fridge brilliance here; the Guardsmen you see were the only ones to make it planetside without being shot down. It's unlikely there would have been many tanks with them, since they were probably coming down in Valkyries without the space for them.
4, lack of Guardsmen at the Titan facility and the research lab is because they were all killed. It's suprising that what Guardsmen there were could survive that long in the first place is a miracle, if they didn't survive all over then it's to be expected.

Then how did they get Salamanders, Basilisks and EarthShaker Platforms? They get re-inforcements from Orbit eventually. Also it's a Forge World, so it would have it's own Guard. There weren't even Sentinals...

There weren't even bodies. And nothing had gotten into the Titan Facility yet. Nothing had got into the Lab either. There were no Skitarii or anything.
That's because there were automated defences and walls that kept them out and kept them from looting the titan, didn't need no Guardsmen. Bodies, there are some, but with the Orks having killed them all weeks ago and then sitting around doing nothing, they would have done something rather than just leaving them where they fell.

There was a Destroyed Salamander in the Lab, and the audio logs show there were other people there before the invasion.
It takes hundreds to Prepare a Titan, but there was no evidence of anyone being there. And i don't think it has been weeks since the invasion started.
It just seems like there should of been more evidance of some sort of actual defense, considering how important the world is claimed to be.
Don't remember seeing the destroyed Salamander inside the secure part of the Titan facility but the logs in there are explained by them being from the Techpriests who worked there. When shit got too far along, they evacuated and were smart enough to lock up when they left.

The Salamander was in the Lab. The audiolog was From a LexMechanic, which means there were staff there. If there are staff then there would have been Guards.

And when the entire thing was sealed shut when the staff left, the Guards would have been ordered outside into the fighting rather than sitting in the empty facility. If it's sealed shut after everyone left, there would be no fighting in there. I'll have to look through the facility again later to see if I can find that Salamander too.

Also somewhat news, probably.

No, the turrets were the only thing keeping the Orks out.
Even if it does make sense though, i still think there should have been some (Along with Skittari and Leman russes, Baneblades etc) in game.
It's an extremely important Forge World with things which REALLY need to be protected, yet you hardly see any defense.

Fuck yes.
When that patch comes out we won't have to hear annoying static or such all the time.
Fuck yes x2, it's a good thing that Co-Op for Space Marine will be out fairly soon.
There's a servoskull that tells you that the skittari were destroyed, I imagine that the orks would cart them away and start stealing their gear.
Yeah, some Skitarii or combat servitors would have been awesome, find a few still in the facility and be bros with them.
Still, it is explained by you being late to the party and almost all defences having been blown up long ago. The turrets and walls would have kept the Orks out so the guardsmen could go outside and die pointlessly but almost everything else is destroyed. If the Titan facility held up to the Orks trying to get in there for that long, it must have some decent defences.

You don't know how long it has been since the invasion started though. It could only have been a few days.
Or was it mentioned ingame and i missed it?

Imperial bananas
[editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
No one knew but the issue with the Blood Ravens having half of the chapter going chaos was just a plan so they could multiply their amount of relics gifted. Next step is sending one of them to either the Deathwatch, Tau empire or to Mars

Why would they go to the Tau? Unless they suddenly start using other races weapons and claiming it as relics...
Well, i did what Rayven said, i put holes in both the banner and the heat exchanger and then glued a clipped needle (i used a clipped needle instead of a clipped paperclip) into the hole on his heat exchanger.
I glued the other end of the needle and slid the needle up the banner's hole, Castellan's now fully repaired!
Thanks a lot Rayven. :buddy:

They cant hear you over the sound of how many relics they have stuck up their asses
Am I the only here to think that the customization could be a bit better? Also, the singleplayer could had use a little more variety, it was a little bland.
I'm starting get into Warhammer 40k, is it better than the original warhammer?
Much better indeed.

It is, in my opinion.
Orkz' is much betta in da 40 'fousand millenia rather den in dat 'originul' fantasy fingie.
That and the races are much more unique in my opinion.
ARGH the fps drops is what kills me most in mp, any way to change FoV? im getting sick off half my screen getting taking up by the shoulder of my sm
