I remember in one of the Cain books the IG are scared shitless by the tau's tech.
The railguns and their battlesuits especially. Even though they may be weak as a race the Imperium could really benefit from their weaponry.
I noticed how the paint on Castellan's helmet looks a bit thick or such (i can't even see certain holes that are supposed to be on the sides of his helm anymore.)
Does anybody know something that might be able to remove paint relatively easy/something that could help give the paint a smoother look?
I used Skull White to paint most of his helmet.
So I'm eventually going to be doing a forum adventure in the 40k universe and I need a bit of help visually distinguishing one of the characters as an inquisitor of the Ordos Xenos. Unlike any other person I care to draw any image I get of the inquisitors just seem to be a random person wit a ton of shit plastered all over them. That doesn't really fit with the simplistic style I'm doing the comic in and I was wondering if you guys could help. Here's some comparison pics:

You could give him a hat, and please, put the seal of the Inquisition on him somewhere, coat, shoulder, etc.
It's quite hard to tell if somebody's an Inquisitor when they don't even bear the seal of the Inquisiton.

The first one is actually a commissar, the hat is in another file. But yeah the hat works, but specifically what hat? Usually the pilgrim style hats are used by ordos hereticus.
The imperium will win cause they have a doomsday device planted right into the Golden Throne.
It's a cup of water aimed right into the Emperor's holy face. They hope this will be enough to wake him up.

I was thinking of a pilgrim style hat, sadly.
Sorry, didn't know it was a commissar and i don't really have any ideas, best of luck to you.

Fixed.

You can use Nail Polish remover to strip paint, if you're careful.
You can use Nail Polish remover to strip paint, if you're careful.
Acetone free!, nail polish remover with Acetone in it tends to melt anything but metal.
Methylated Spirits or brown dettol disnfectant also work and do zero harm to the minature. (though if its finecast, methylated spirits can make it temporarily rubbery)

Unfortunally we all know the emperor's relic will soon be gifted to a certain chapter.

By relics, I mean testicles.
"Captured in M42, the Globes of Imperial Fortitude have been used by Blood Raven Force Commander Vanilla Ice to smite the unrighteous everywhere with wrathful impunity. Before his untimely death, Horus was heard to utter "Wolfman has nards?!" before his head was caved in by the eerily glowing weapon. The Adeptus Custodes has no record of this."

Still hasn't gotten old.
But imagine if they could fuse Tau technology with Imperial technology.
We know that the Tau have high-maintenance yet effective weaponry, opposite to the Imperium's low-maintenance and easy to make weaponry.
If they could find a way to optimize either the las weaponry or plasma rifles, such as a low-maintenance plasma rifle or an upgraded lasgun, they could have a fighting chance against the Necrons.
Reality check. Why do you think many nations fielded inferior weapons in ww2 even though their technology was already beyond that.
The americans most notably. The imperium might have better lasgun designs already, but it just can't retool their forges in a way to keep production up.
The Necrons are kinda intentionally gimping themselves to instill fear though
Their weapons are amazing but the troops themselves are nothing special
Look at their starships to find the OP stuff
Well to put it simply - the moment you are able to control space, no matter how much worse your ground troops are, you essentially won already.
Right, so I feel like throwing out a bunch of possible ideas in regards to Chaos Guard. Mainly they will be twisted version of the Imperial ones, with additional rules, et cetera. Would anyone be interested if I posted my progress on them, here?
In example you can have the idea of Daemonially possessed Sentinel Walker, corrupted to the core, mutated flesh and metal exchanging each other, while the poor soul trapped within the cockpit turned-prison, is forced to observe this horror, while his last drops of vitality are devoured by the unholy machine.
I got both the Tau and Space Marine codex for my birthday today. Now I finally know the point values of my armies. My Space Marine army ended up being 680 points in all. I've yet to add up the Tau though. I expect them to be around the Space Marines in total points though.
I also plan on building a collapsible gaming table this weekend. I'll be sure to post pictures when I'm done.
The Imperium wouldn't be fucked it they weren't all a bunch of zealous xenophobic cockmonglers.
Sure the Eldar are dicks and the Tau are weeaboos but being allies =/= giving up everything you have to be a part of them. If the three races stopped fighting and actually focused their attention on the shit that wants them ALL DEAD, they wouldn't be as screwed as they are.
[editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
Also all the members of the Imperium are, in fact, heretics.
the eldar are backstabbing cunts though, not the best allies
By relics, I mean testicles.
That was the joke
So after four years or so I'm thinking of starting a new Guard Army. My last one only worked in tandem with another player, specifically a player with several Basilisk guns and Leman Russ'.
Back then I fielded about a hundred and twenty Guardsmen, relying on nothing but heavy artillery and numbers to win, with the armor watching my flanks as it was too valuable to lose.
Now I'm thinking something more of a mechanized infantry unit, so Guardsmen squads, well equipped with ample Chimera transport. What's a good way to start?

Can you give an example of this? Just curious. (unless it's some sort of spoiler to one of the 40k games, then don't tell me.)

Spoiler to the original Dawn of War 2:
[sp]The eldar are what draw the orks to the Blood Raven recruiting worlds. They meant to use the orks as a means to slow the Tyranid hive fleet heading that way, potentially costing millions of human lives to save their own hides.[/sp]
The eldar may be dicks, but they do so for their own survival. And considering the way the Imperium thinks of them, they might backstab less if they thought of humans better.
