Okay, what was the discussion about Necrons and the dominion of man a few pages back? It seems as if you believe they are more powerful, why?
(I don't know much about the lore surrounding Necrons)

Powerful Gauss weaponry, ability to rebuild themselves in the field, mass "ressurection" through a Lord and great stealth capabilities.
Was reading about the Salamanders and I found this
Also, as a result of a reaction between their genetics and the high levels of radiation on Nocturne, Salamanders battle brothers have dark or jet black skin and bright, burning eyes. This frightening appearance is entirely superficial, but has intimidated more than one rebellion into submission without firing a shot
Neat!

They make kenyans look like Paris Hilton
There, all assembled. Hopefully it doesn't cause me too much more trouble.

I find it fucking stupid. Because they should have more resistance to heat weapons. Also. Matt Ward doesn't understand how gravity works.

No, they shouldn't, darkened skin =/= reistant to heat of any kind (evenmoreso weaponised heat technology), its resistance to UV Radiation.
Hot enough to vaporise metal = plenty hot enough to vapourise flesh no matter how dark you are.

That's it? Are their parts indestructible or do the Space Marines just not dispose of the parts?
They still don't seem too much of a threat compared to the imperium of man.
Their parts rebuild themselves.
imadaman, that's a patch for Dawn of War, not DoW: Dark Crusade. Doesn't work.
The search goes on. Fucking internet, fucking Google.
They still don't seem too much of a threat compared to the imperium of man.
They are anywhere and everywhere. There are tomb worlds waiting to be discovered so that the Necrons beneath the ground can rise and fuck shit up.
And even if the parts are destroyed, the warrior's 'soul' teleports to the nearest tomb facility, where it is installed into a new body. As long as there are tomb worlds, Necrons are indestructible.

Huh. You learn something new everyday. How 'indestructible' are these Tomb Facilities? Does the imperium of man have any world destroyers (they should at that age in history)?
Just incase you didn't know, in fluff lore, their gauss weapons pretty much ensure that anything but the lighted glancing blow = you're dead. Theres even records of a Necron Destroyers Gauss weapon going through both sides of a land raider.
They are also merciless, unrelenting, practically unstopable. OH and if they get damaged too much, they teleport to safety to be rebuild. OH and they're mostly asleep and only just waking up, so yes, very very bad.

Yes, though Tomb Worlds are generally hard to find unless by luck or accident (and in either case usually react to the threat to leave no survivors)

It took you two hours to assemble it and when it broke you only took less than an hour repairing it?
Good job.
Now tell me your secrets. :v:
Necrons are undead Terminators. That sums it up.
Yeah, the Mentor Legion is indeed very bro-like.
They are bros but they don't test; they evaluate and perfect and then approve, including tactics and stratagems. Imagine grey knights without all the wardian heehaw bullshit. Mentors will def fuck up your shit, and you'll never see them do it.
So what do Necrons do after they've Exterminated a planet?
Do they move on to the next one? If so, how?
I'm going to my local comic book store where they sell tabletop stuff, so I can start my IG army. Should I get the battle force? It seems like an alright deal. If not then what should I get? I don't know if I'm going to make a mechanized army or not yet.

Spacecraft, for example.
Spacecraft, for example.
But what kind of Spacecraft?
I don't think I've ever seen a Necron Starship.

The size of the fleet itself is pretty small but each ship is very deadly thanks to the gauss weaponry.
As for their ships, I think the Battlefleet Gothic models are the only ones in existence.
Oh, found pictures.

I don't think the IG battleforce is a very good choice.
Judging from some of the more experienced IG players in this thread, you're better off with a veterans and vehicles army.
I don't know what exact units you should get, but a Chimera is a good start.

Alright. I guess I'll have to see what the place has and decide from there. Thanks.
I'm really interested to see how the new Necrons will look. I kinda hope they add a bit more of an Egyptian theme to them, similar to Tomb Kings and a few of the old Necrons.

What have I missed?

I bought the battleforce. Just use those guys as a Company Command Squad and Vets, like me.

Are you implying that Grey Knights will not fuck up your shit?
I'm tired of people claiming that just because of Matt Ward, Grey Knights either suck or 'would be better if Matt Ward wouldn't had toyed around with their fluff'.

New Necron codex rumored to be coming with 6th edition rules.
