Well, they did fulfill the minimum requirement of a Squadron (aka 1)
That's not what I'm actually talking about though. I mean physical scale and size.
[editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
But yeah the squad stuff is annoying too
Like Infantry and tanks in 40K have ever been the right size.

"Now Dawn of War III, either way, is going to have a much larger strategic component to it, more of a global battle going on with little tactical things, sort of MMO-like,"
Supreme Commander scale gogogo.
Fuck that, Total War scale!
Supreme Commander scale means titans/biotitans/whatever.
Titans would spoil it, Ithink.
Titans would spoil it, Ithink.
They'd just have to be absurdly rare in normal games (think the huge game ending artillery structure or a fully loaded nuclear sub in Supcom). Still would be smaller Titans, a Warlord at max, maybe not even that.

Exactly what I wanted, that's awesome. Sounds like it will be large scale with a Total War style campaign, a bit like in Dark Crusade.
Would be awesome if it was like Total War, just that it had space and spanned several planets.
I got the 40k vassal to work but I have no fucking clue how to use it.
Like Infantry and tanks in 40K have ever been the right size.
True but it would be nice to have it for once, especially if they're doing a Total War type of game. Battlefields would be a lot flatter allowing for those bigger units. The problem with the other games were the small paths so they couldn't really make these huge units work.
More than sizes I want the firepower to be correct. I don't want to see a Baneblade firing a little pewpew pellet that makes an explosion barely larger than a Leman Russ.
Remember the first time I showed my friend retribution at my house, let him play for a bit
"Hey man uh is that baneblade thing good?"
"Yeah bro buy one"
"Alright here we g- Holy fuck is it supposed to be that big?"
"Thats 40k. for you"

I don't want to see a baneblade firing its coax instead of the main gun

Should`ve told him it`s supposed to be bigger.
I think it's meant to be an Acre in size, not sure where I read that, but that's how I think of it.
it's a whole 13.5 meters in length you know
The baneblade?
13.5m long and 8.5 wide
and 2m thick armor :byodood:
for scale a M1 Abrams is 7.9m long and 3.6m wide
The baneblade?

It should be BIGGER! For what it's supposed to be, it's tiny.
It should be BIGGER! For what it's supposed to be, it's tiny.
Imagine an Orkey Baneblade. Then all the Mekboyz start shouting BIGGAH, BADDAH, REDDAH. Boyz join in, Nobs join in, THE FUCKING WARBOSS joins in the chant.
Pretty soon you have a gorky-morky titan Baneblade.
This might be a bit too big though. Forgive the motivational

Also while on the topic of Baneblades imo Fortress of Arrogance is the best conversion, even though fluff wise I think it died

the only thing i don't get is with titans why the heck would you have something built for war then stick a castle/chapel on its back
Because the Imperium is based off religion?
the only thing i don't get is with titans why the heck would you have something built for war then stick a castle/chapel on its back
So you can stick all sorts of murals depicting the enemies cruel, horrid death at the hands of the emperor.
Morale and intimidation mostly.
Which i also find ironic as didn't the Emperor go around stamping out all religion to begin with
Because the Imperium is based off religion?
Originally it wasn't. It only has been for the past 10,000 years or so since the Emperor's death
Which i also find ironic as didn't the Emperor go around stamping out all religion to begin with
Yes

I think all the Imperator titan models we've seen are pretty old, back then everything looked a bit more "comical" if you will. I think that if GW was to make a new Împerator model they'd make it all grimdark and the castle would either be very toned down or removed.
what kind of titans would these be? i figured perhaps warhounds but i'm just taking a guess

Case in point

[sp]It's a carnifex I shit you not[/sp]

Doesn't look like one. Warhounds have the dog like cockpit

Those would be Warlords I'm quite sure.

Yeah it's quite uhh... colourful.
The baneblade?
13.5m long and 8.5 wide
and 210mm thick armor :smith:

fixed
fixed
The Baneblade's armour is much stronger than an Abraham's though, I'd imagine it would be close to completely immune to today's payloads.
