So after i primer coated my Tau battlesuit, i finally gathered the balls to go look at it after all this time.
I was so afraid to go look at because of how i couldn't get the main body to actually fit together.
So my Primer coat is all fucked up and the back of this battlesuit isnt stuck together even after all the shit I piled onto it.
FUCK YOU PLASTIC MODELS AND SHIT

I mad, time to take a WH40k break and play some Spehhs Marehns
How do you get even coats with non-foundation paints? I always get a really textured look whenever I try painting my Tau.

Work in progress shot of my Guardsmen.
They are my first "real" minis. The only ones I did before are the Space Marines in the painter set which aren't in pieces.
Very nice, comrade. Allow me to share some of my work as well:

WIP Duke Nukem Marbo (in this pic he is unfinished, I have yet to take a finished picture).

Guardsmen (I need better lighting, these are also WIP. I have also repainted the guns to be black instead of red.)

I suck at basing. :(

Stick sand to base, spray your model, paint your base either sandy, muddy browny or grey, and voila, base done easy as pie. Adding larger rocks and painting them too is option, looks much better than sticking
[thumb]http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/1281/20110216232049.jpg[/thumb]
OR for something more complicated, try something like this:
[thumb]http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/430/20110120173740.jpg[/thumb]
essentially cut up match sticks and custom made snow.
or

Alright, thanks for the tip.

Still fitting this into the can
Most of my models are already attached to their bases, which have no basing done on them.
I assume this makes the process more difficult.
Somewhat yes, but I don't baseflock or paint because battles do not take place on terrain that is always the same.

That's why I left mine plain. I don't want a rocky base in some sweeping plains. Such a little thing, but it gets to me.

Now that is awesome.

Thin. Your. Paints.
Add a little bit of clean water to a palette, mix in paint. Paint a coat, wait for it to dry. Repeat until the area you're painting is the same colour as the original (not watered down) paint.
Wayland Games (.co.uk) baneblade for £50 excluding PnP.
£50.28 from Dark Sphere (.co.uk) including shipping via 1st class post. AFAIK they do 25% off on all models, so even with shipping ordering from them is a steal.
EDIT:
Coffee stirrers are good for basing as well.
I don't thin my paints and I get one basic shade of color. But I also work with tiny brushes and paint everything of a given color at once, and put multiple coats if need be. I never start a color and stop before all parts that need said color are done.
[editline]20th September 2011[/editline]
Finished most of the Zoanthrope assembly, but unfortunately I got super glue on my thumb. Its quite uncomfortable. Despite putting on plastic gloves after, it seems to eat through them, because other fingers have bits of it on them, though it doesn't hurt, unlike my thumb.

Ugh, I hate that song. It makes me ashamed that I'm swedish (originated from sweden). Well, not anything extreme or so. But it makes me ashamed over our music industry, because in my eyes it's such garbage. But that's offtopic.
Have anyone played some Rogue Trader? I'm interested of playing it, but want to hear from somebody that have played it, their opinions and such about it. It's that, with the group I want to play it with, it's only me and another person that likes (what I know) Warhammer/Warhammer 40k.
But we can start a general discussion about Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy if that is better.

I would like to join you if i may, though, we already have a thread for Dark Heresy, plus there is a CYOA in GD which Dick Tracy made which has yet to be updated..
Ive been looking for a GM for Deathwatch.
Ive been looking for a GM for Deathwatch.
You could try asking at suptg IRC (suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com #suptg). They'll point you to other channels. Deathwatch isn't very popular as it requires a really good GM to be anything else than "marines go in, shoot shit, repeat". You'll find lots of players for DH and RT though.
Yeah. BUT I CAN BE A TECH PRIEST WHO SMASHES PEOPLE IN WITH A SERVO ARM AND A CLAYMORE.

Also. Marines going in and shooting shit is basically the mission of any sort of Space marine.

Aren't those the old Bloodletters or something?
Most of my models are already attached to their bases, which have no basing done on them.

Slightly, but if you carefully use pva glue and put the sand on your bases, then go over the sand carefuly with chaos black and then carefully paint it, its not all that difficult.
Somewhat yes, but I don't baseflock or paint because battles do not take place on terrain that is always the same.
It helps give your army a unifying theme, its much better than not doing your bases at all. a decent base can turn a medium looking model intoa good or fantastic looking one.

Though the pauldrons kinda suck for me - those studs man
Am I seriously the only one that dislikes Beakie?
Every other helmet is fine, even Mk1, but Beakie, ugh.
