The problem is we've never had a game that could properly capture the feel of 40k. Space Marine was fine, but there is just so fucking much in 40k that it barely covered 1%.
We need a huge The Witcher 2 style (by that I mean with a single player that spans a lot of stuff, on different planets and system, encountering different races and with lots of background lore and dialogue) RPG/FPS/TPS game set in the 40k universe. Also it needs to be grimdark as fuck, no skimping on the very nasty details (a tour through a hive world slums, with dead people in the streets, famine, and shit should help).
NOT ENOUGH GRIMDARK? START SPRAYING THE CHAOS BLACK, BOYS.

After reading that, i just thought of a mass effect styled 40k RPG.
ALL MY TEEF, TAKE 'EM.

We need a Inquisitor game similar to Witcher 2 and KOTOR

This. A million fucking times this.
Videogames always water down WH40K's bizarre extravagancy to be more "consumable". Quite bothering.
Ugh, i don't like how people complain about Space Marine being not too grimdark - i mean i know some of the source material, but i think that games are better off the way they are.
Heck, i'd love to see a light-hearted game, where you play as an Ork.
It's a shame, though that the characters felt underdeveloped and bland. Sure, Titus was awesome, Leandros and Sidonus had their respective traits, but it wasn't shown that often. Though i did like Lt. Mira - while still underdeveloped, you felt she was a strong character - thumbs up for that.
Made this today.

if anyone feels like "recreating" it with their mumbo jumbo photoshop be my guest

Is you'z implyin' dat bein' an ork is light-hearted?
God dammit stop mystyping Hoboharry look i have to edit this now jeez D:
Anyway, yes i do - they are the less bloody grimdark race there is. They, aside from some chaos freaks, are the only race that genuinenly enjoy fighting.
And how can you not love the whole WAAGH! idea? Red wunz go fasta etc?

WH40K stuff is sometimes outright hilarious. Gotta love dem satirical undertones, man.
Time for me to supply "fanart":

Made it myself in GMod, entierly.
This one looks better, did some snazzy contrast/brightness changing on this one
No super fancy editing in PS.

Iz you sneaky enoff ta use purple like uz Kommandoz?
What do you mean by that?
You mean that 40k games are made so that they'll fit the tastes of what a lot of gamers like these days?
Just looking through the amazing picture dump on the last page, you see quite a lot of extravagant stuff, crazy architecture, bizarre shit. From what I've seen of WH40K videogames, most of them indeed only show the "prettier" things.
Alternatively:
Iz you an orky enoff boy to WAAAGH! tha humies?
Iz you sneaky enoff ta use purple like uz Kommandoz?
Only gitz like you use purple.
Purple don't do nuttin, it don't make ya fasta, it doesn't make ya more shooty, it only makes you a 'sneaky' cow-herd.
Nice models. Where are they from?
A friends personal models that I deflated the heads on then used the Modern Spetznas models by Half Dead for the heads.

The previous version would have captured W40K alot better, with seeing actual Tanks, Dreadnoughts, Space fleets and generally something that isn't a Guardsman or an abandoned salamander...
