I know there's already a Dark Heresy game running, but would anybody else be interested in starting a new game? I've been itching to play but I can't find a group near me.
I convinced my friend (who hates DC) to play the base game yesterday (didn't need hamachi). We went 1v1 against each other. Me as Necrons, him as Tau. At first he took the only critical location and started that taken hold victory bullshit, which we agreed was stupid and he allowed me to make it neutral so it would stop. I was stuck inside my base (which he frequently invaded, it was that map with the bases back to back), but the turrets were stopping him from getting inside to kill my shit.
Long story short, I made a fully activated monolith and got the nightbringer upgrade and invaded his base with both, killed lots of shit, got him so pissed off that he took the critical point, which I threw everything at to get it back (KROOTOX WON'T FUCKING DIE) to neutral, and he then invaded my base again with his douchebag crisis suits and killed the monolith while it was recovering.
There was much rage. Game pisses people off more then DoW2.
Yeah the last patch for that game made krootox fucking invincible. They count as daemons though so roll space marines and use characters to kill them. And a stealth suit army rapes in that game.
My point is that currently, Tau do not look well equipped at all. Giving them things like that would make it seem like they are prepared.
My point is the advanced, high-tech, mecha-anime-influenced style of the Tau atm is meant to be smooth and uninterrupted by anything like pouches or slings.
How dare you link the Tau with mecha-anime?
Skcorpio, summarily execute this heretic.
In one of the Gaunt's Ghosts books the ghosts are deployed to a world that's been locked in trench warfare for like 60 years and they still use solid shot weapons and have cavalry charges.
Emperor fucking God, what. And yet theres general-marshals running around destroying imperial worlds because they are too technologically advanced.
Why are they doing this?

Well they are... and not all anime is heresy

I never said so.
Tau, more like Vaginaforeheads
I frequently call the Tau weeaboos just to piss off a friend of mine who has them as one of his favorite races.
I got back into DOW1 a few days ago, getting cultists and--
OWH MY SPLEEN
Man I'm really having a bad time not starting a Death Korps of Krieg army. Or at least buying a few models and painting them. I haven't played since when I was a kid and I remember a lot of assholes in my local GW, I hope it's changed since.
I swear to god if I have spare money and can be bothered I'm starting that army.
Helghast army here I come :v:

The entire Tau race is pretty anime inspired tbh.
Kicked (New) Tomb Kings in a 2500 point game, now I just need to find a crown to put on my Chaos Lord.

Nice job picking the derp variant to post.

The thing that bugs me about the Tau is that they're not grimdark enough
how does forced sterilization of humans and their leaders secreting a mind-control pheromone sound
The thing that bugs me about the Tau is that they're not grimdark enough
I'd say Tau are the most "normal" of any race. I think most of us would poop our pants if we suddenly had to live in the Imperium.
The thing that bugs me about the Tau is that they're not grimdark enough
They do have a caste system.

Reflection of their experience? Considering they are the youngest interstellar race in 40k.
I am debating between a Space Marine army or an Imperial Guard army and even if I make a decision, it will be a long time before I am ready to start playing.
So, which one should I get? Most of the GW shop people play Tau.
Maybe I should go Chaos :v:
no both chaos codices are terrible atm
Be a close-combat space marine army and tie up everything.

Black Templars ev'ryday? Assault marines all the way?
BAs are your best bet
My strategy for my 40k army was having a Tyrant and a shit ton of termagaunts (and some hormagaunts) and possibly some warriors to start out. Small army. Then when the enemy moves in to fight, have a shit ton of raveners and a trygon prime pop up behind them and take their asses out.
Don't even know if that's possible in the table top but fuck it it is a good theoretical plan.

:(
Technically, basic codex does say that you can combine various armies into one mash-up. So there is nothing stopping you to use IG conscripts alongside Tau broadsides/Fire Warrior squads for maximum "Tar Pit of Rapid Fire".
I've always wanted to try a conscript/horde army of IG or nids, but the sheer cost of models and time needed to assemble and paint them all has totally put me off of it

It's doable and works like a charm. Genestealers are not to be messed with.

Any anime in my WH40k is heresy :colbert:.

Tau are heretical. So that makes perfect sense.
