Okay so I took up the suggestion and I'm now playing on Primarch with melee Tarkus Feels pretty weird Still gonna use ranged FC as I won't really be using Avitus [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Also are the termie armors any better on Primarch? When I first played the game I found them pretty useless, the health buff was nice but the weapons were pretty lame.
They are almost necessary later on. Since they can take two hits as opposed to just one :P
Well the current Orks were warriors created by another species of green skins who also had Waaaaaagh but the Orks some how wiped them out. Or something like that.
If I remember correctly the orks were made by the Old ones to serve another orky species that was made alongside them. Runty, extremely smart albeit physically weak orks. The big orks beat them up and over multiple generations they became snotlings and gretchin.
Thanks for the video and Zezibash for the guides. I'll probably make Tau first until I was comfortable enough with the whole thing. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Alright, I convinced my friend to try Warhammer 40k with me. I'm going to get a squad of Tau soldiers to start off with. But like, any other recommendations? Starter kits for glue and paint etc.
Get the Tau battleforce if your wanting to get into them I guess(or just get the assault on black reach first to learn to play but its SM and Orks), also I would highly suggest for glue you find Testors plastic cement in the red tube at a hobby/craft shop. For paints I prefer GW and Reaper and I usually buy a can of flat black from my hobby store, though Chaos black spray is pretty much the same only costs more.
I'm going to the hobby-shop today, bringing two thousand bucks with me, courtesy of my uncle. I plan to buy a set of the emperors finest to fill my room in an epic battle scene. Glory for the first man to die.
The Imperium should totally make a fake Gue'Vesa so they could spy on the Tau
Then they'd have to kill the guardsman for a risk of HERESY. And I doubt the Tau would let him slip away to Imperial space to tell them.

They are the Emperor's finest, you know. :v:
So in other words, you're going to buy a pack of Terminators? They are the Emperor's finest, you know. :v:
No.
Titans.

Then they'd have to kill the guardsman for a risk of HERESY. And I doubt the Tau would let him slip away to Imperial space to tell them.
I'm probably biased but there is a realistic possibility if they send Guardsmen to pose and live amongst Tau society that they would never come back.
No.
Titans.

OH SHEEEEE-IT But who will they be fighting? [editline]27th September 2011[/editline]
I'm probably biased but there is a realistic possibility if they send Guardsmen to pose and live amongst Tau society that they would never come back.
Maybe. Depends on the writer of this story - if they're being fairly grimdark, they'd call heresy and nuke the idylistic civilization like something Ayn Rand would write. If not, then they would probably stay, yes. Assuming the rumors of concentration camps and forced labor aren't true.

[editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Oh no, how about Blood Ravens?
Haven't decided. Tyrannids anyone?
Only if you have a huge model being stomped on and shot in the face like the parasite it is.
They are almost necessary later on. Since they can take two hits as opposed to just one :P
There's just a lot of disadvantages from what I saw mainly not being able to equip most of the cool wargear and no jump pack crash landing for FC or Thaddeus [editline]28th September 2011[/editline]
I'm going to the hobby-shop today, bringing two thousand bucks with me, courtesy of my uncle. Glory for the first man to die.
Don't buy that much at once, if you don't like it after all you've wasted a lot of money buy a battleforce
I'm probably biased but there is a realistic possibility if they send Guardsmen to pose and live amongst Tau society that they would never come back.
Tell him he'll be able to retire on his homeworld after his mission is done, as a bonus hold his family hostage. "A radical inquisitor did it" should be sufficient justification for the story.

Assuming the rumors of concentration camps and forced labor aren't true.
I read a really good fiction where a bunch of Imperial Guardsmen were captured or something. I don't remember the context. But it was just a journal of all the shit Tau made them do. Like they made them reproduce and enforced a 'cuddling' rule and they feed them weird shit. I think one of them accidentally went into bathroom or something like that and seeing female Tau and they were pretty peeved about. Kept making them watch propaganda and than there was finally a formal decree of hostilities and during a Imperium bombardment they were able to escape and meet up with other Guardsmen. It was pretty good.
Don't buy that much at once, if you don't like it after all you've wasted a lot of money buy a battleforce
This, just buy the Assault of Black Reach starter set, comes with everything for a 2 player game so you can see if you like the game or not.
They decided to switch engines mid-development.
Why am I being rated informative? I was making a duke nukem joke
I was just going to get a $30 squad of Tau guys. Build them, paint them. In the end if I didn't throw them at the wall or they don't look like shit I can say "Well, I'm capable of building and painting the models. So let's try and play the game now." and go from there.

They just showed up one day and they were like "Communism's boss, bros" and everyone listened to them for no reason. A bit deus ex machina, ain't it?
From what I understood only one guy came along and spread the Greater Good concept. From there people interpreted it and made it into their little religion if you want to call it that. The leader caste I assume are descendants of that general group. I don't know too much about Tau history yet. Also those were just the parts I remember, it wasn't like a sexy thing, it was just like journal entries "They made us mate with our female counterparts. That sounds great and all but the Tau enforce an strict 20 minute cuddling period." etc.

I wish I did. I read it on 4chan a year or two ago. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] AHHHHHH I found it! http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/5234728/
The Blood Ravens will just steal the Titans.
No they won't. They'll just find them.

Does the voices for mlp too, apparently.
Will The space marines Deploy Exterminatus on Mars if required?
Space Marines don't perform Exterminatus on planets, the Inquisiton does. Though, perhaps the Inquisition would do so, if the Void Dragon would awaken, but there's so much technology on Mars so i don't know if they actually would perform Exterminatus on it.
I now imagine this Thunder Hooves Character saying "WE ARE SPEHSS HOSSES"
