I don't see how the first, second and fourth lines in that post are cliché. And Tyranids were basically copies of the aliens from Starship Troopers, though they have much more interesting lore, imo. (not actually, 40k copied zergs from starcraft1!!!1!) And yeah, magic is pretty much cliché, so i'll agree with you on that, but at least they named magic as Psychic abilities instead of magic, i guess.
Jes Goodwin has said outright the Nids are Dinosaurs, Aliens (as in Giger) and Predators put together to form the ultimate scifi monsters. They're as derivative as it gets.
they shed their gender
Wait WHAAAAAAT?
Wait WHAAAAAAT?
Yup. When they join the Howling Banshees, they drop their previous title and become asexual.
How the f*ck should i beat chaos campaign in dow2 retribution? Also, as i tried space marine game, it sucked. But anyway,i get only to the third chapter, should i play more or whole game would suck like first 2 chapters?
Give Eliphas full upgraded Mark of Khorne, then get the perk that allows him to suck health from enemies he damages. Next, take the best maul you have. Makes him almost invincible. He smashes the maul into the ground, takes half the health of enemy tanks, absolutely smashes infantry, and instantly restores all of his health. Also, don't give the Champions melee weapons, they are useless with them. The Nurgle Champion is best with the bile Spewer and the perk that allows him to reincarnate dead enemies, as you can send him in while your fodder/tank soaks up damage, then steal the kills that the Dreadnought is getting. Sorceror is really good if he has the Tzeentch perk list, as you can doppelgander anything from guardsmen to a Leman Russ. The aspiring champion is good if you have the no setup perk, but generally the Chosen Marines can be more effective. Also, CSM squads are useless, take Havocs, Heretics (worship and grenade/melee spam). Dreadnought with autocannon is the icing on the cake. Just make sure you don't use Blood Crushers, they die too quickly to be of any use.

Also the dual cast on the Sorcerer makes doombolt pretty much one shot anything.

Whatever shall we do?
When I get Space Marine what platform should I get it on? I'm waiting for it to get cheaper. Is it going to be like a few other games where multiplayer completely dies on console with a few dedicated players on PC?

Varius is quite effective in almost any situation, i gave him a plague fist, but the Bile Spewer works more decently, because it is awesome against blobs and such. Neroth is very efficient if you give him a staff which has a chance to randomly cast doombolts. Doombolts are extremely awesome if you upgrade his damage tree, because they'll deal amazing damage to just about each type of unit except for Super Heavy units, Vehicles and Monsters. Eliphas is indeed, effective with that 'trapped daemon' item, as well as the perks from his damage tree. If you fully upgrade his melee damage tree, he will have burning fire around him which pretty much kills blobs, as well as his maul which obliterates blobs and all kinds of other units. I also noticed that Eliphas was rather effective when he used a Hellblade (you get it as a reward from one of the missions, can't remember which), though i think people are better off with giving him a maul. We should organize a Dark Heresy game
We should organize a Dark Heresy game
Who would be our GM? Cyclocius is busy enough with his first group, i could be a GM but i don't really know what i would have to do/how i would be a GM.
I could take a go at it, but I'll have to learn how to play the game first.
Care to name any of the clichés? I know the Space Marines might be a bit of a cliché, but any other clichés?
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Warhammer40000 Enjoy. Most tropes are essentially cliches by this point. Also for backstory information. Try googling for something called fluffbible. It's pretty old has loads of outdated stuff but still a wealth of information.

Hey LordLoss, would you have a bigger version of your avatar in .gif?
Biggest I have.
I seriously hope ADB gets to do a HH/Pre Heresy novel of the Night Lords, would be so awesome, the title could be oh so very simply "Night Lord" or, maybe even "Ave Dominus Nox" (Hail the Lord of the Night)
I just realized the Tau have like a Samurai thing going for them. This one has a fucking Katana for some reason. Whatever happened to that hand-to-hand combat-deficiency?
It's a Bonding Knife, something not really used all that much in combat, except for possibly rare circumstances.
Steve Blum can turn anything badass. He should do more voices for 40k.
I can't stop associating this man with Cyrus. When I played Transformers: War for Cybertron I went "OH HEY CYRUS" when that one Decepticon started talking.
It's a Bonding Knife, something not really used all that much in combat, except for possibly rare circumstances.
Ah, I just noticed how short it was for a two handed blade. Aren't the Tau shorter than a typical human though?
More a hand and half thing, at most, so not all that big, a knife can be rather large, it doesn't have to be small.
Would you?
I notice that the Tau color-scheme is usually that yellow pattern. I've seen other colors but that's the most common. Is that supposed to be the pattern they used during the Taros Campaign and it just became the standard for people painting their figures to copy?
