I notice that the Tau color-scheme is usually that yellow pattern. I've seen other colors but that's the most common. Is that supposed to be the pattern they used during the Taros Campaign and it just became the standard for people painting their figures to copy?
That brown/yellow colour is the colour of the Tau Sept, so basically the Homeworld/Default uniform colours.
I would totally get an Aquila tattoo, but I wouldn't know where to put it and I'd probably regret it later.
If I had monehs I'd get this tattooed on me.

TUUUUUUUUUUUUBES.
That was posted last page, just so you know.
Anyway 40k isn't really cliché, unless you consider men wearing cardboard armor with flashlights as their weapon fighting against countless mutated enemies and fungus as cliché.
Yep. I'm that cliché.

For some unkown reason, I laughed hard. I'm at work and it's always dead silent around these offices, so yeah.

Looks like the Orks have a new toy.
This is also off the Games Workshop facebook group, I sadly can't afford nor do I have the skill to make something like that.
I just realized the Tau have like a Samurai thing going for them. This one has a fucking Katana for some reason. Whatever happened to that hand-to-hand combat-deficiency?
I think therehere are a few pictures of Tau with melee weapons. While they do HATE melee, that doesn't mean they never have to get into it.
Only one i can remember is this one:

Still reading into it. Apparently they have a special group dedicated to hand-to-hand. Fire Warriors of O'Shovah or something.

Well Commander Farsight (O'Shovah) uses a huge sword that may or may not be Daemon blade

I would get the mark of the Inquisition and make it in real life. With gold outline, ivory skull, obsidian inlays and some cast iron painted red.
"Do you realize just how fast you were going there?"
*I flash the mark*

Not really.
Even if the tattoo was something awesome like the mark of some Chaos God or the Imperial Aquila, tattoos are still dumb and people shouldn't get them, in my opinion.

I thought it was just said they all died, not that he killed them.
Anyway, it could of just been because he found out some terrible secret.

He found a copy of Fire Warrior.
I'm going to buy a Tau Manta for my first model.
I'll spray paint it green so I can use it for my Imperial Guardsmen I'll buy later.
Considering getting something like this put into a tattoo I'm planning on getting, but since there's so many different Eagles and there's little variation in them, it'll probably look like something else barely resembling it. Not bad thing though, it's a badass symbol.

The manta is about £1000. And you can't use it with Imperial Guard.

He's just covering that up.
Commander Farsight actually does kill some of his own kind, especially Ethereals.

No offense, bro, but you're thinking WAAAAAYY too big.
Start off with a battleforce or Fire warrior squad, a manta costs a lot and will take a lot of effort to build.

I know, that was my attempt at bad humor. I'm not going to spend $1,600 on this shit. What good is a Manta anyway unless I know how to build, paint and use it? I'd need support for it anyway. I thought the 'paint it green and make it IG" would be the clue though.
I'm just getting a pack of Fire Warriors.
Hell $30 is expensive to me.

You could even get Pathfinders with rail rifles, i think they're basically the sniper units of the Tau, plus i think they're cheap.
Plus, a Manta can hold a lot of infantry, it also has a lot of weapons attached to it it which are effective against heavy infantry, infantry, stuff like that, even so, the Manta costs a lot of points.
Sorry i didn't notice your joke, i just thought that you didn't know how tabletop worked, and assumed you could use a unit from a different army for another army. :v:

I didn't see that. I may get a pack of them instead than. Do people typically paint their models before or after construction? Because I figure I'll buy some glue, put them together and get paint after they're done because so far I just see people building them first and than painting them up.
It would be awesome to get a WH40K tattoo, most of the WH40K symbols are perfect tattoos in my opinion.
Hell I would get one, if I knew it wouldn't get old or I wouldn't regret it afterwards.
If I would get a tattoo, it would be a chapter symbol (Soul Drinkers, Luna Wolves or SOMETHING like that)
Also WH40K symbols would be awesome also because; They would not "shout" "I'm a nerd, look at me!" (Not the simple symbols atleast)
I dont get why Facepunch always has such an aggressive anti-tattoo attitude
I mean no offense towards those of you who have tattoos.
But before this thread somehow turns into a tattoo discussion, getting a tattoo practically searing your flesh with a pen to get some kind of badass drawing/mark on your skin, and it just doesn't sound like a good thing to do, if only for cosmetic purposes.

You should get paint along with those, not just glue and one pack of some tau units.
However, before anything, you should get a rulebook and codex, there's this point system in tabletop and there are certain point restrictions for who you play with, like, the enemy has a 500 point army, then you must also have a 500 point army, etc.
Plus you'll have to know which units cost how many points, etc.

No, he shouldn't get rulebooks. That'd increase the price to two or three times more.
Just get a pack of Fire Warriors, 4-5 paints and a wash, and glue.

Well if he doesn't, he might end up like me, buying random units which i thought were badass, and now i have a semi-unbalanced point wise army.
However, i do agree, buying a codex or rulebook for your first trip to a traditional games store/games workshop store doesn't sound too fun.
I don't have hobby shops here. The closest one is in New Jersey I think and I live in New York. This is all online.
I figure I just get a pack of Fire Warriors. Can't go wrong with that can I? I mean, you NEED basic infantry to support anything else. And if I'm not capable of doing a decent job on making and painting up units than there is no point for me to buy a rule-book and codex if I stop at one box.
What is wash by the way? Paints, Glue, Fire Warriors but I don't know what wash is.
