What's a good site to get some Tyranids? I'm currently looking on the official GamesWorkshop site, but is there anywhere else?
i've bought all mine from amazon, they're usualy cheaper than GW as well on an unrelated note, new authors writing books for the Horus heresy (a book titled The Primarchs written by Christian Dunn)...not sure what to think...hopefully they'll be as good as ADB...they'd better be if they're going to write about the main characters of 30k... loads of new authors cropping up in the Space Marine battles novels as well, havn't read their stuff yet though.

good god that forum is awful..avatars that stretch the entire page out for 15 words worth of post...
No, now you're just a slightly less than newb 40K fan. Get back when you have several thousand points of stuff :P
You can be a fan without being into the tabletop. Some of us have negligible artistic talent.
I will try this with my Necron Warrior or Pariah
I'd rather do it to Lords, Monoliths and maybe Destroyers. Seems a bit of a waste for Warriors. I remember a dude on /tg/ making a Monolith upgrade, it had dry ice inside of it so it emitted ominous smoke, it had a green light behind the portal, and fibre-optic cables leading to the guns. It also played creepy music.

Are there any books about the Death Korps of Krieg? Also, the Horus Heresy books are full of foreshadowing :v:
Are there any books about the Death Korps of Krieg?
As noted in here before, Dead Men Walking. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline]
I will try this with my Necron Warrior or Pariah
That's fucking awesome. It'd be cool if it would be possible to do the same with eyes on a Grey Knight, maybe.
What would happen if I were to have an army of HQ and Command Elements only? Is that possible?
What would happen if I were to have an army of HQ and Command Elements only? Is that possible?
I think it could be possible, but such an army would be terrible.
I think it could be possible, but such an army would be terrible.
If that's the case than I could have an army that comprises entirely of Commissars just to troll people?
What would happen if I were to have an army of HQ and Command Elements only? Is that possible?
I thought you needed 1 HQ / 2 Troops as a minimum requirement?
I am now officially a hardcore Warhammer 40,000 fan. I just bought myself the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, a Hobby Starter kit, and a Tyranid army. It feels amazing, even if I am dirt poor again.
Dirt poor? I thought you said your uncle gave you 2000 bucks? Also, buying tabletop models doesn't really make you a ''hardcore'' 40k fan.
Does anyone make replica Warhammer 40k gear? I'd kill (a thousand heretics) for a commissar's cap with the Imperial double headed eagle.
Commissar caps have the Winged Skull, the quintisential logo of the Imperial Guard.
You can be a fan without being into the tabletop. Some of us have negligible artistic talent.
But he claimed to be a hardcore fan.
Fair enough, it just seems with all these super-mighty heroes running about during the Heresy someone would have escaped, even moreso if they were in a Dreadnought.
Imagine a lone loyalist dreadnought fighting off wave after wave of heretic marines on top of a pile of their bodies. Until his ammo runs dry. Then he's probably screwed.
Then he'll bodysurf unto death.
Imagine a lone loyalist dreadnought fighting off wave after wave of heretic marines on top of a pile of their bodies. Until his ammo runs dry. Then he's probably screwed.
That's what the Powerfist is for.
God damnit this universe is ridiculously complicated. Reading the wiki to find out on bit of information usually means I spend an hour reading several articles on the subject but straying from my main objective. I order one of the Warhammer 40k novels. Fire Warrior. I think it's the only Tau-Centric one. Right now I'm reading all the information on pre-Warhammer 40k humanity up to the Horus Heresy.

I found it used on Amazon for $7 Why was I rated dumb, am I getting ripped off?

Like, the author spends a whole five pages detailing each individual fight. Me, I'm part-way through Sons of Fenris. I haven't read it in a while, though. Mainly because it's my only WH40K book.
I read all the Halo Novels with the exception of the last two or three. Anything after Cole Protocol. Aside from the ones written by Eric Nylund they were pretty sub-standard as far as writing was concerned but I still enjoyed them. I have no idea how big Fire Warrior is. I bought the paper-back though.

I posted on last page. Just search Amazon for it. Cheapest starts at like $7 for decent to good copies. Some people want $80 for collectible ones and there is one being sold 'new' for $180. I keep getting rated dumb by the same person, unsure why though. So apparently the Emperor still controls the Astronomican which makes space travel in the 40k universe possible? Does that mean when he dies (which I remember reading somewhere that it was going to happen eventually) that humanity will probably experience another Age of Strife? How does the Emperor even die, I thought he was immortal? And even if he died, doesn't he become reincarnated?
I found it used on Amazon for $7 Why was I rated dumb, am I getting ripped off?
According to Nightlord, the Fire Warrior book is very expensive, perhaps you could read it and then sell it for a lot of cash to buy some 40k miniatures, or you could keep it. Also, no, you're not getting ripped off, that's just the local troll lurker Chief343.
I don't think the one I bought is expensive. Apparently it's a sub-par book (although most of the reviews come from people who played SPESS MARUEENS and don't know much about Warhammer) and it's a bad condition, paper-back. Maybe a good condition hardcover or an excellent condition, first edition soft-cover? But the book I bought was a mass printing anyway.

Anyway, care to give a link to the page where the book's being sold? I'd like to read those reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Warrior-Warhammer-40-000/dp/1844160106 I bought the second cheapest one for a few extra cents to get a 'good' quality one. I never planned on selling it anyway. Reviews are at the bottom of the page.
