To be fair, the game was a bit sub-par. Not exactly bad, just not as great as it could have been. Those reviews are probably from people hating on the game.
Unrelated but still book wise, I justbought all 3 of the LOTR books second hand for £7
I've been reading about Tyranids a lot. They're fucking scary.
I've been reading about Tyranids a lot. They're fucking scary.
I just started reading the Necrons. I'll read Tyranids next. I've been reading the Warhammer Wiki for hours a day and I haven't even scratched the surface.
No, now you're just a slightly less than newb 40K fan. Get back when you have several thousand points of stuff :P
I do.
Dirt poor? I thought you said your uncle gave you 2000 bucks? Also, buying tabletop models doesn't really make you a ''hardcore'' 40k fan.
By Tyranid army I mean $2000 worth of Tyranids. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline]
I've been reading about Tyranids a lot. They're fucking scary.
That's why I love them.
Having 50 000 points of miniatures does not make you a hardcore WH40k fan. Knowing the Lexicanum inside out does not make you a hardcore WH40k fan.
So if you play Tyranids does that mean you have buy twice or three times as many figures to make an army and in turn spend twice or three times as much money? Since Tyranids seem to rely on numbers.
Why does everyone keep going on about the Blood Ravens. They weren't stealing relics first and they're definitely not the best at it. Relictors. Clue's in the name, innit.
Yes but Relictors take them with inquisitorial permission, the blood ravens just steal them.
Yes but Relictors take them with inquisitorial permission, the blood ravens just steal them.
Inquisitorial permission taking the form of a Grey Knight attack? Relictors are Excommunicate Traitoris.
By Tyranid army I mean $2000 worth of Tyranids.
Good luck getting the motivation to paint all of it, looking at the pile of grey. Pity you aren't in the UK I could have done them for you. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline]
Inquisitorial permission taking the form of a Grey Knight attack?
Good luck getting the motivation to paint all of it, looking at the pile of grey. Pity you aren't in the UK I could have done them for you.
My cause is my motivation, I am no heretic. Also, that's so sweet of you Rayven, thanks for offering anyway.
Obviously there'd have had to have been payment involes, supplies, paints, etc etc and for the work itself :P
Why does everyone keep going on about the Blood Ravens. They weren't stealing relics first and they're definitely not the best at it. Relictors. Clue's in the name, innit.
Of course they're the best at stealing relics. They even single-handedly looted both of Abaddon's arms. Hold on, where's the Golden Throne?
By Tyranid army I mean $2000 worth of Tyranids.
Why, chances are 75% of what you bought you wont be using. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] Also what all did you even get anyway?
Yes but Relictors take them with inquisitorial permission, the blood ravens just steal them.
Herersy, sir. They get permission.... just later.
Yes but Relictors take them with inquisitorial permission, the blood ravens just steal them.
It's hard to ask dead people for permission to loot their bolt pistol. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] Also damnit I keep waking up and seeing this thread at 40+ posts thinking Exterminatus came out.
The Dark Angels themselves quietly style themselves as this, and even refer to themselves the Unforgiven - all because ten thousand years ago, a few of their number turned on their brothers out of pride or confusion. This being 40K, Redemption Equals Other People's Deaths - the Chapter is obsessed with hunting down their traitorous kin, who have been scattered across space and time, and helping them find "redemption," usually after days or weeks of torture. [sp]Though it is hinted in the lore that it is in fact the Dark Angels and their Primarch who were the traitors but who turned their cloak AGAIN after hearing Horus had lost, and the Fallen Angels are the remnants of the loyalist force that fought them, who know that truth.[/sp] What? Where's this from (the spoilered part)?
Having read two of the Dark Angels Horus Heresy books, it makes it pretty clear who the traitors and loyalists are.
How do citizens of the Imperium do for entertainment? They seem to drink and throw festivals for new guard regiments and that's it. How can you keep a work force happy when there's no TV, no restaurants, no movie theaters or anything else? Or is the trade off just "Do good work in our factories/farms and you won't get killed by guardsmen/aliens."

There are movies too.
What makes you think they want to keep them happy

While the super-rich are incredibly hedonistic.
There are also holos, from what I know. Also entertainers, well, entertain them. And I can totally imagine, similarly to medieval times, there being religious plays sometimes on big celebrations which mix crude humour with important morals. (FIND THE HERETIC, HATE THE XENO etc. :v: )
I love Relictors, something about their colour scheme and now that they're lone wandering mercenaries and rogues fighting for the Imperium.
And don't forget, a decent proportion of the population is at least somewhat literate so I assume books of a mild, fictional, or informative nature are permitted. As long as they aren't Lovecraftian Fiction, Fantasy novels that are better than the Imperium, or technical guides, you should be alright. And yeah, the Dark Heresy book lists a few neat civilian places. Enclosed parks, speeches, plays, holo-shows, carnivals, drinking-halls, gladiatorial fights, and on occasion brothels and stip-clubs.
