Alternatively, if you're not so sure if you'd like it you can get cheaper models

I think I'll just get the starter kit than. I don't have any of these things around the house, no hobby shops for miles and I really don't know anything. I have a feeling I'm going to like this though, so looking at an $84 total for a Starter Kit (Paint, Glue, Brushes etc) and one box of Tau Fire Warriors.
Good to go? Coupons, suggestions?

You could always try an independent retailer online. Normally I'd suggest going to a brick and mortar store, but if there are none nearby then there's little point.

I don't have any suggestions, sorry.
However, if the price is too much for you, you could always just go for a pathfinder squad instead of a Fire Warrior squad or something like that.
I placed an order. Hobby Starter Kit and a Fire Warrior set. Almost $100 all set and done but there is always a start up cost I guess.
But now I look at it this way; next paycheck if I want another pack or something it'll only be $30-$50 which is somewhat reasonable. I already have the paint and glue now.
no idea how the prices compare US wise but i find amazon to be cheaper than the official GW store and sells the same stuff unless they're low on stock on something that keeps selling out. (example is hive tyrants on UK amazon are like £5 more expensive than GW because they only ever seem to stock one and it gets bought out fast and they keep upping the price each time)
price comparison, i think you got overcharged a little hobby starter set from amazon $59.50 and tau firewarriors $24.85
http://www.amazon.com/Games-Workshop-Hobby-Starter-Set/dp/B000FCLSW2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1317587145&sr=8-5

It's a bit cheaper on the Tau Warriors but it kind of evens out. GW gave me free shipping. I'd save a dollar or two on Amazon and I was always iffy about Amazon.
fair enough, its worth checking their prices though occasionally you can get some nice deals. i've bought all my nids from amazon and had no problems with them and if you're lucky you can still pick up some metal figures if you're willing to put in a little extra.
Unrelated game chat Just finished Retribution as Imperial Guard on hard. Guardsman made the final battle too easy :v:
Mass Venom cannons = walking ball of green death = 17 minutes on Hardest, and most of that is walking with your slow ass Hive Lord.
Did anybody else notice how it was practically impossible to die in Retribution?
As long as you had requisition, you could always revive your heroes again, to be honest, it sort of made it less fun.
I was used to DoW2 where you would have to fight with 4 heroes/squads and if every hero died, you would have to start from scratch, unless you saved through exiting to main menu a few times in missions.
Fun fact: I didn't know of the retreat function while playing DoW2, so i essentially played through DoW2 while never retreating. :v:
I need help with this guy and his base.

The base has no holes on it (the hole you see is form me. I thought it would work.) The bottom of the base has what look like things were the hole should be. HELP!
You're supposed to use a knife or something and punch one of the holes out from the bottom. There's multiple holes because there's other stuff you can put on the base (such as skulls or ammo) that also have pegs.
Don't cut the peg off like people said, punch one of the holes out. That little hole might be there to help you widen it

It probably works either way, so unless he intends to magnetize it to the base or some shit I don't think the peg really matters.
speaking of magnetizing whats the best options for doing that, I'm moving onto the bigger models like Carnifexes and such soon and I'd like to have the options to change the weapons out any suggestions?
Its been said that when the Ethereals arrived, the entirety of the Tau suddenly went "THIS IS A GOOD PHILOSOPHY". And there's the case of Commander Farsight, who appeared outside the Xenology books IIRC. He defected from the Tau Empire as soon as he was without an Ethereal around. Both of these support the notion that Xenology is correct.
Neither of those support the Notion of Xenology being correct. The Tau were at war with each other, the Ethereals came along and said if they work together then that would be alot better as then they don't get killed all the time and can actually progress.
As for Farsight, no one is sure what happened. Possible Daemon Blade or something. Possibly just went insane. Could be anything. He could of defected WHILE the Ethereal was around, he could have been the one who killed them.
Xenology has several 'mistakes'. One being the Hrud. I haven't actually read Xenology, but i thought some of it was actually written by a Necron lord. I also read that the Eldar in Xenology was planning on using the Q'orl for something but it wasn't stated what. The Inquisitor then found a Q'orl Organ in the Tau.The Eldar had a role in stealing a Q'orl hive queen. The Inquisitor believes they stole the queen because they wanted to breed Q'orl that are resistant to Chaos. It suggests that the Eldar took the Q'orl queen to use her pheremone generators to imbed in the foreheads of the Tau Ethereals so that they control the other Tau.
Simply put:
1. The Eldar took the Q'orl queen with pheremone diamond-organs.
2. During the Tau autopsy, the Magos talked about the diamond-shaped organ in the forehead of the ethereal being very familiar, but he couldn't place where he'd seen it before.
Is Khrone's name pronounced Ka-rone or Corn?
Is Khrone's name pronounced Ka-rone or Corn?
Khorne is pronounced as Corn.
Hence the meme ''Khorne Flakes''. :v:

He does make the connection, actually. He shows the Inquisitor a starmap that shows how far apart the Tau and the Q'orl are. The entire book points to the fact that everything is connected: To the Old Ones. The Tau, the O'orl, the Eldar, the Orks, and even humanity. Implying that they are all products of the Old Ones in some form or another. Which is mostly true.

That doesn't mean the entire book is false.
[editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]

Of course not, doesn't mean everything in it is correct though or that you should believe everything it says. The Tau one is Incorrect and so is the Hrud. Also i read that the Kroot in the book has three fingers.
Is the Tau section really only like four pages? The Kroot has like ten pages alone. That was kind of disappointing. I downloaded the PDF to read it.
Since we're talking about books, what's that $140 one that one guy mentioned? It seems like a good read.

Don't open it up more.
Just cut off the peg, problem solved.
"Flamethrower? Where do you put the bayonet?" - Unnamed Guardsman.
I just came up with that. I figured it was an appropriate quote.
I'd post it as an advice dog but I didn't want to get banned for 'meme shit'
Is the IMPERIAL MUNITORUM MANUAL even being published anymore? I can't find it on sale anywhere for what the retail price is listed as.
jesus fuck the price ranges from $500 to $1000, fuck that
It's already October and Relic hasn't said a work about co-op.
Any websites that sell Warhammer 40k in the US? If Warhammer is anything like most products it means buying it from the official price is really expensive.
eBay and Amazon are some of them. I can't list the rest off the top of my head.
It's already October and Relic hasn't said a work about co-op.
October the 5th or 6th. The game came out on September 5th or 6th so expect it then.
It's already October and Relic hasn't said a work about co-op.
It's bound to come out before the 10th of October, unless Relic fucked up.
So I'm thinking about making a variant of 40k called "Legacy", and in it, you basically have to accomplish some heroic feat whilst greatly outnumbered, like in the book "Ice Guard", or "Cadian Blood". If anyone is interested in receiving the PDF when I finish it, let me know.
Now is there any source on those dates or is it just an estimate?
