By the way, does the Death Korps of Krieg have Commisars?
With them being more or less completly fearless?
Of course they do.

Nope, their commissars are just even more badass.

EDIT: Ninja'd. Nice pic.
Ah ok, silly question in retrospective
They function more as a political officer than actually keeping up morale, because they don't have to.
I had a question about the Death Korps of Krieg and I couldn't remember but now it came to me.
They're Forge World so let's say you wanted to use them in a game that didn't use Forge World models. Could you just use regular Guardsman rules? Same goes for the Gue'vesa couldn't you just make them use Fire Warrior rules?
So the only difference is name and appearance. They don't have special stats, they're like any other Tau or Guardsman now. Can you do that?

Pretty sure they use normal guardsman rules anyway
Some of their vehicle patterns and heavy weapons might have special rules though, but you can use those as counts-as in mos tplaces
Why did the nerf Fish of Fury guys?
Because it was horribly OP
Worse than monolith phalanxes

Well, I myself don't play the tabletop (just collect 'em), but from what /tg/ has told me, it would seem you'd be able to set up a bunker by putting two of them next to each-other. Then, you'd be able to shoot through them and no-one could get close enough to get the Tau in close-combat, where they really die fast. That way, you'd more-or-less have garunteed superiority over anyone else on the table.

Pretty much, as long as a few things line up:
1. Same base size as the units you're using them instead of (so you couldn't proxy 40mm based terminators for 25mm based Tactical Marines)
2. Roughly the same height as said models.
3. Any special weapon units etc etc should be clearly discernable from your regular guys
Follow those rules and you'll be good to go, as long as you don't play with people who are twats that hav a problem with it.
So I just got stupidly lucky and won these guys.
Looks like I am getting into the tabletop, where do I go from here?
Movie Marines rules?
Sorry for the semi-late reply. I wouldn't say "movie marines", but I will say that I will be pulling over some rules from other games so Legacy can make sense. Think of it as the awesome bastard lovechild between 40k and Necromunda.

I eventually want to make some Gue'vesa units if I like the game, so could I use Imperial Guard rules on the Gue'vesa units? I'd probably give a couple of them Tau armor, a couple Pulse Rifles but in the grand scheme of things they're just to 'look nice' rather than actually using those weapons/armor in a game. I don't know if you can mix or match rules but I was kind of looking around and I thought I saw something like that.

Alright, that works too. I just want to add variety because I like the idea of Gue'vesa. It'd be neat if they filled the role the kroot do but I rather them use Fire Warrior rules if I had to pick. I'm just thinking ahead by months though.

Or you could use one ot two units as Gue'vesa in a Tau Army.

Retoast, I still need help.
Retoast, I still need help.
Get the Codex, practice the rules and then find someone to play with. At least thats what I would do. Or I would sell them for twice their value for being painted well then get an army twice the sizex

There are specialized rules? Are they in the Tau rulebook or is it something special?

I fucking hate you. That is awesome, they're all painted and assembled to :c

Instead of fire warriors i mean, use the gue'vesa models as fire warriors.
Why. Why would you want them to talk Tyranids. So far everything that has come out recently has raped the fluff in horrifying ways. Even the last Tyranid Codex took a lot away from the race.
Thankfully for us Tyranid fans, their codex was fairly recent, so they won't get violated anymore for a long while.
I want talk again so that they can fix their damned mistakes.
Maybe you should just not be lazy and read back through the thread to work out what they're talking about.
I did, he never said. You should do the same.
[editline]3rd October 2011[/editline]
I just got my Tyranids, I think they mixed up my order or something because I got two more titans than what I payed for :v:
I'm looking forward towards this next weekend. Maybe I'll have some quality painting time.
The next Gaunt's Ghosts book is gonna be released (in the UK atleast) very soon. Extract of the audiobook here.
/tg/ should change their Kobold Outpost into Ork Ork'old.

For the Emperor's sake man, i's Xenology.
I took me less than a minute to work that out.
What does FP think about audiobooks?
I've never bought them as so much stuff when reading about 40k is in the imagination and i figured it somewhat ruin that image. I mean something like a primarch's voice is supposed to have this awe inspiring quality or something along those lines to it and I figure they'll be lost on the Horus heresy audio books
I'd like to hear your opinions on them
I don't care for audiobooks, but then again I have more free time than the average person. Audiobooks can be great when you're driving long distances etc.
I want to listen to a few that have been released. I would fucking love if they made an audio drama out of the last chancers novels.
That would be fucking awesome and I would buy like four copies.
