I'd like to try audiobooks also. Going for a long drive, listening to one of the Horus Heresy-books or playing games and listening to them.
But as "Glitch" mentioned, there's no way the speaker could give you that "primarch" or "emperor"-presence feeling.
Gonna buy Nemesis as a audio book later on just because I want to hear [sp]Spear[/sp].
If they now do different "voices" for the characters.
well just listening to that small snippet of the newer gaunt's ghost novel, it doesn't sound as good as it does when i read the same segment to myself but yeah definitely agreed fussy I might pick one up since I'm driving a fair bit these days, good idea zezi.

I think what you're looking for is the audio dramas, not the audio books. Audio books tend to be one narrator who does different inflections for each character, whereas audio dramas have multiple voice actors.
At least, that's what I was told at GW.

Unless they find a way for peoples voices to be trasmitted directly to and echo around your brain like a chorus of heavenly angels you are quite right.
Though I would love to meet the person that could capture the voice of Horus when fuelled by the ruinous forces.

Well, I mean that way. Not totally different actors, but one reader that makes a different "voice" for each.
Like the guy that read the Harry Potter books back in the 90's (Jolly British guy, loved to hear him read up my favorite books back then).
You have been exposed to a massive amount of warp energy, and have somehow managed to survive with life, limb and sanity (mostly) intact. However, you are doomed to be corrupted by one of the 4 Chaos gods. For some reason, you get to choose which one and which aspect or possibly aspects of that god you will embody.
Which god, and why? If you choose Khorne for example, will you do it just so you can destroy everything? To exact revenge on someone who has wronged you? That sort of thing.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD.
Half because of Kyras' speech, to imitate the Universe's completely chaotic and uncontrolled nature, to kill and destroy itself until there is no more, most compelling argument I've heard. Also because Khorne's followers are the only respectable ones. Tzeentch followers are pawns and have no idea of anything, Nurgle followers are more corpse than the Emperor and Slaanesh followers are perverts with no purpose besides petty chemical thrills.
What does FP think about audiobooks?
I've never bought them as so much stuff when reading about 40k is in the imagination and i figured it somewhat ruin that image. I mean something like a primarch's voice is supposed to have this awe inspiring quality or something along those lines to it and I figure they'll be lost on the Horus heresy audio books
I'd like to hear your opinions on them
I like them because they last me longer than normal books. Plus they're decent for car rides. And I have to read so much for uni that I'm not always in the mood to read something extra.
Slaanesh.
The answer to your question of "Why" should be obvious.
Nurgle
Sure, you look like shit, but atleast Nugle treats you like a grandson, and not like a pawn
Fucking Ipod
OH GOD I'M GETTING MY SKIN FLAYED OFF MY DICK IS SO HARD FUCK

I hate how he did Mabbon's voice, that wasn't how I imagined it at all. It sounds more suitable to some jumped up Lord General or whatever.
Other than that I liked it I guess. Maybe its something I look into for when I start driving, but for now I'd take a classic hardback over an audiobook any day.
Link to the clip? Looked on Black Library and couldn't find it.
So I just got stupidly lucky and won these guys.
Looks like I am getting into the tabletop, where do I go from here?
Huh, the first time I rated somebody winner and said person actually was a winner.
Congrats man, you'll enjoy the tabletop. I'm about at the same point with my SM army and not quite sure what I want to get next. The worst part about winning that army though is no matter how well you can assemble and paint miniatures, they will never look that good.
Also, Papa Nurgle all the way. I'd rather be a painless walking corpse than a blood-crazed berserker that's unlikely to survive more than a few moments in combat. And the endless rage sounds pretty damn stressful.
So I picked up Salvation's Reach earlier and the guy in the Games Workshop that served me was so slow same as most people tell you to put your card in the machine and so forth but this guy didn't and seemed kinda brain dead but it was only the little store in Meadowhall if anyone's ever seen it.
Stokin' the flames of PC conflict!

Its alright, the first time I went to GW and asked for a demo game the employee who helped me was drunk.

You evil, evil man
GW employees are always nice. They just tend to not always be sober at work.
The next Gaunt's Ghosts book is gonna be released (in the UK atleast) very soon. Extract of the audiobook here.

The first time I went to a GW store, the employees were friendly.
Desperately friendly.
I went in with a female friend, she was in a low-cut top and a skirt, it was like throwing her in with the wolves.

Tzeentch. His brilliance and overall power is unmatched by even the other Chaos gods. Too bad he can't make a plan for shit.

Whilst I don't have a GW around here, we have a place called 'Tates' which is just like one (except with a fuckload more weabos). I went their once to play Yu-Gi-Oh! with my boyfriend. It's equally as sad.
Haha, oh wow. We stole a truck, managed to get past an Imperium blockade, and now our truck is spewing coffee beans everywhere. Dark Heresy.
Are there any working DoW2 mods? So far I've tried a couple, but they all crash the game. Damn Relic being shitbags about mods again.

Terrible voice is terrible, fuck audiobooks, they should just do them all as Audio Dramas, Thunder from Fenris is fucking amazing.
Maximo13 just got shot by a lift-operator and nearly died.
So playing Call of Warhammer for Medieval 2 as Chaos (Khorne). I have this guy who is fucking extreme as fuck. First of he's called Herald Magnus the Warlord of Terror, then he has 10 command (10 is the max that fit, but according to traits it should be around something like 20), 10 dread, and 10 loyalty. He also leads an army of 9 experience (3 gold chevrons) Chaos knights, Chosens and various elite units.
He just took on 3 full Tzeentch armies and lost only 300 men.
I hope he'll ascend to Daemohood soon, that would be the last stone in the pillar of awesomeness (then I'm going to march into the Empire, stopping by to destroy those Orcs).
