Does GW still make those Collectors Guides things which list all the products for an army and then some examples of peoples stuff at the back? Also, i just saw this: It's some gameplay for Space Marine. Would that be how a Bolter and Plasma gun would fire (as in the speed)? i don't think i've seen a Fluff Depiction of a Rate of fire for either of them.
No, not really.
Looks like they did get the bolter completely right besides that (in the slow mo it looks like it hits the ork then explodes inside)
I'm surprised that they got the ammo right (30 rounds/mag, sickle mag), was expecting Straight with 30
No, not really.
They both fire too fast? Or did you mean the Collectors guides? The Plasma gun also seems too weak for something which basically fires Mini-suns.
They both fire too fast? Or did you mean the Collectors guides? The Plasma gun also seems too weak for something which basically fires Mini-suns.
Except if it was obscenely powerful it'd be imbalanced for multiplayer.
Boltguns (normally) fire 4 round bursts, and Plasma guns fire slower. Like, a round in 3 seconds I guess?
Boltguns (normally) fire 4 round bursts, and Plasma guns fire slower. Like, a round in 3 seconds I guess?
So they are not capable of firing Full-auto like that? The overcharged shot on the Plasma gun seems like how it should fire all the time, instead of the extremely weak shots. The Plasma cannon is even worse.
Mini suns? Aren't plasma bolts just pure energy superheated?
Mini suns? Aren't plasma bolts just pure energy superheated?
Lexicanium says:
The weapon generates plasma which it fires as glowing super-heated bolt of energy, which on hitting an object, react with its matter to produce spheres of boiling nuclear energy like miniature suns. For this reason they have the informal name of "sun gun".
Will you guys chill out it's not breaking the fluff that much (not like any other game has gotten it right) and it's for the purpose of gameplay balance. Chaos Rising broke the fluff more but you all seem to love DoW 2
Mini suns? Aren't plasma bolts just pure energy superheated?
I'm pretty sure plasma is just the 4th state of matter (gas, solid, liquid, plasma) [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Also there's a thing called cold plasma so plasma doesn't have to be hot (I assume that's the reason why it's called cold plasma)
So they are not capable of firing Full-auto like that? And yeah, that's about how Plasma Guns should be (only the charged shot that's currently spechul)
I just thought up of something FUCKING awesome: If they ever make an orks game in the vein of space marines they should totally use Borderland's weapon generation, except a fuck-ton more random and ramshackle. I wonder how an Orks game (TOS, third orky shootah) would work, open-world on a xeno planet where a space hulk crash landed? or mission/level based war type dealie like space marine?
Will you guys chill out it's not breaking the fluff that much (not like any other game has gotten it right) and it's for the purpose of gameplay balance.
I think Firewarrior got pretty much everything right.
Some are, 4burst ones are most usual. But the Plasma gun is wrong?
I don't really think that would work, as it would probably be like this: Shoota - Bigga Shoota - Bigga Bigga Shoota - Bigga Bigga Shoota - Bigga Den Bigga Bigga Bigga Shoota
I don't really think that would work, as it would probably be like this: Shoota - Bigga Shoota - Bigga Bigga Shoota - Bigga Bigga Shoota - Bigga Den Bigga Bigga Bigga Shoota
They just name it that.
So they didn't really get it wrong, Bolters can fire like in that Video? But the Plasma gun is wrong?
Boltgun still fires too fast and sounds wrong (from what I remember), and Plasma Gun's wrong yeah. More right would be if the normal shot was the charged one.
They just name it that.
Kustom tactical combi-shoota.
Have you guys seen this? http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?178510-God-Units-Epic-Void-Dragon-%28Large-Images%29
Boltgun still fires too fast and sounds wrong (from what I remember), and Plasma Gun's wrong yeah. More right would be if the normal shot was the charged one.
Fluff does say they can fire in full-auto MY AUTOMERGE.
I didn't say that they can't

Not really impressive design work to be honest, it doesn't look alien enough. NOT FUCKING AGAIN.
I didn't say that they can't
So how come you think they fire too fast? Even if it's not 100% fluffy friendly it's there because you'd be fighting hordes of Orks.
Have you guys seen this? http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?178510-God-Units-Epic-Void-Dragon-%28Large-Images%29
Holy shit. The other day I was thinking: If they make Necrons for DoW2/3, would they go the way of what they did with Chaos, instead of choosing something they had already done (horrors, bloodthirster), go the way of something totally different (bloodletters, Great Unclean One)? As in, instead of the Nightbringer or the Deceiver, use something like the Void Dragon? Relic should take notes from that mod.
Void dragon is under fluff- based lock and key buddy.
Yeah, that's why I knew it was never going to happen. Also the mod is evidently dead. [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Also, shouldn't the void dragon look like an actual dragon?
Wait, how does this Orders thing work for Imperial Guard? Do I have to use orders to tell infantry to shoot? Tabletop, by the way.
Wait, how does this Orders thing work for Imperial Guard? Do I have to use orders to tell infantry to shoot? Tabletop, by the way.
Junior officers can give bonuses to units that are in range.
Also, shouldn't the void dragon look like an actual dragon?
It's just a name given to it as it had no name. Probably called a Dragon because of something to do with the Emperor fighting it during Medieval times.
