The pursuit of perfection is irrelevant as not only will the greater actual combat experience be far more valuable to the few champions, all of Khorne's followers fight rather than a few dedicated to fighting. Creativity and striving for something greater is irrelevant also as their creativity in battle is of minimal effect and Khorne's Omnicidal ultimate goal is hard to beat. Either way, Slaanesh's followers are junkies, slaves to excess and urges. They may be perfectionist junkies, but they still crave nothing beyond these urges. Khorne wills for battle, but cares not for anything else they do. Also
As striving to excess or the absolute limit and beyond is a tagline of the god. But the followers of all the gods do it. In their respective aspects but still do.
Well that's real neato, how about you find me a faction in 40k that doesn't kill. They may empower Slaanesh in some way but who doesn't kill, the one purest manifestation of Khorne worship? If they have ever been on a battlefield, either through their own blood or their enemies, they have empowered Khorne.
I would like to get into wh 40.000 (not gaming but the universe itself), where should i start? There is just too much books and fictions and all...
As always, google Lexicanum, from there you can just write almost any subject you want more info and you see some or all of it.
As always, google Lexicanum, from there you can just write almost any subject you want more info and you see some or all of it.
Been there, but i like books and i thought there are some i could start with, maybe by timeline or importance...
Been there, but i like books and i thought there are some i could start with, maybe by timeline or importance...
My good buddy, Horus Heresy is for you then! It's a long series and it pretty much tells you why imperium is like it is now! Buy Horus Rising, enojy it and thank me later.
Ok, thanks i'll look into it.
-snip-
Those loyalis termies I'm converting to chaos, I think I'll forge those tusks onto them. It's gon be so cute.
Exactly, following Slaanesh may be awesome in the beginning for some of us, but in the end all your former glory and life-power will be sapped off your body and you will end as a shadow of yourself. Like you said, Nurgle does care for his followers, but I don't like the idea of being a walking corpse or plague bearer. I'm probably wrong on this, but Khorne is too much mindless destruction and killing for me. All that in mind I'd follow Tzeentch, that's for sure.
Tzeentch tends to screw over his followers the most though. Change is good isn't it.
I'm most def nurgloid
By the emperor you're fast, 40 troops in 3 hours? It takes me an hour or two for a set of ten hormagaunts.
It also helps that my colour scheme is very simple for my basic troops, though special things like Creed I put a lot of effort into. Today I am thinking of buying an Emperors Champion because I think they look awesome and I always wanted to try painting one.
I'd follow Khorne. I fucking love Khorne.
Tzeentch tends to screw over his followers the most though. Change is good isn't it.
Really depends on what scheme Tzeentch has or plots. For some reason I want Warhammer40K to have a separate timeline so they can have two continues where war never ends and the other the whole thing comes to a end just to see what the outcome would be. Truthfully if the Space Marines lost everything, humanity would be screwed and the best fate would be join the Tau.
As soon as I move out, I'll finally have enough place to properly paint and assemble my Orks. Let's see how much less precise I've become with a brush after all this time of not painting shit. Best would be to somehow get to Terra and wait, hoping that the Emperor does something.
Now that I think about it, If everything that can be wiped out of Warhammer40K we be stuck with just Chaos (Daemons), Necrons, Tyranids (unless the HM dies) and Orks. Never ending battles
If the Imperium lost the Tau would lose too. Too small, and under attention from too many big factions. The Tyranids would probably eat them.
Alternatively, the thing the Tyranids are fleeing from reached our galaxy...and it turns out to be a cosmic force of love and goodness that makes everybody get along voluntarily. :v:
I'd go for Nurgle. Having a loving family, without fear of death or pain. The only bad thing is having your orifices leek pus and your intestines sprawled everywere, but hey, no pain, so you can look past it.
Should I paint before I glue pieces together or after? I think if I do it before it could be easier to put detail into it. But what do you guys do?
Generally I just leave off the arms (or whatever it is that gets in the way) and do them seperately, say for marinesd i glue the legs, body, head and base together and glue the arms to the weapons and the pauldrons to the arms and then paint those bits and then glue the arms to the marines.

Slaanesh fits well in combat due to the fact that many warriors take pleasure in smashing their enemies or psychopaths killing for the lust of it or a hired knife man killing for the money or any other reasons that involve desire.
Gah - you realise that the gods are usually described purely from an imperial viewpoint in which case most of what you say applies. But each of them is vastly more complex and encompasses both negative and positive aspects. The fact that in most sentient species the negative ones tend to be more prevalent than the positive ones is merely one of the reasons that wh40k is so fucked up. Essentially slaneesh also embodies creativity the will to create something and a striving for success. His followers though will usually take this positive traits and warp them all the way which makes them look more evil. For another positive aspect embodied by a chaos god - Nurgle is hope. But the same applies to all the chaos gods. The basic attributes are taken by their followers and then magnified. As to slaneeshi people being bad at fighting. Considering combat drugs and martial prowess is merely one form of excess (see eldar for a good rundown of this) most will be just as deadly a combatant as most others. For the record - in some lore slaneesh is regard as the strongest of the chaos gods who will end up sooner or later absorbing the rest. As striving to excess or the absolute limit and beyond is a tagline of the god. But the followers of all the gods do it. In their respective aspects but still do.
That's how they start out, that's not how they end, and the original codices were done from an internal point of view, and they weren't any different. That's the entire point of Chaos. It's start out better and then becomes an all consuming fetish that becomes a meaningless all encompassing embodiment.
To all those choosing gods: Gork and Mork are the real choices here.
So I'm going to get my dad to help me build a space marine costume of a blood raven, using a wooden skeleton and polyurethane foam body. I'm building based off of a tutorial I'm sure many of you have seen, the only thing is there are no instructions on helmets or gloves, and I have no idea where to start for either. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I'm trying to do just a normal infantryman with a bolter, because thats what I like.

Everyone does that. I'd make my own chapter, but I'm not very creative. I just chose blood ravens because I like the color scheme of their armor, and they're the main characters in DOW1. Which chapters would you suggest?

Call me a hipster, but I'd like to avoid this chapter and ultramarines. Thank you for your suggestion, though.
Angry Marines :v:
I thought about that... :v:
I'd suggest Pretty Mari... Nevermind
