You could use really watered down chaos black for the slits. Do a wash with it, wipe off the excess. Get a 3/0 brush (And a really steady hand) for tiny things like eyes. Of course, I'm not RayvenQ, but that's how I'd do it.
So mix a bit of paint into a bit of water. Paint my armor, my uniform and than go over it with the black wash and wipe away whatever didn't seep into the cracks? [editline]7th October 2011[/editline]
Also Codemonkey feel free to slow way the fuck down. I only have a few models finished as they take days (and my attention span is crap so I haven't done many even though I own a ton and have had them for years), and even then they don't come out that great. Just take your time
Yeah, I was excited. I bought this because the entire point was to waste as much of my time as possible, I have too much.
Alright, what about a Kasr, one of those Fortress cities on Cadia?
Maybe. I want something I can really see from a distance, though, something I can show off. Yeah, I'll go with the Titan unless anyone has any other suggestions I like.

Highlighting ads some cool details (usually easier to just use a wash but you need to have the right washes then), get different sizes of brushes, use spray paint, don't ever leave paints open as that will kill them, and even if you treat your bushes right you're gonna need new ones eventually
Why do Pyskers die while trying to keep the emeport's body intact or whatever
Because the strain of doing so is literally superhuman. The power required literally drains them of life.
Story time:
This makes me wonder how anything short of an Imperial Guardsman is able to get up wooden stairs.
elevatus?
In the grim darkness of the far future, there are no wooden stairs. Only huge, metal, industrial stairs capable of withstanding the weight of humanity's burden. And Space Marines.
It will be a grim future indeed when the Eldar and Tau catch wind of this.
Just finished reading "The last church" short story on 1d4chan wiki, good read. Emperor is a total bro. http://1d4chan.org/wiki/The_Last_Church Also content.
This makes me wonder how anything short of an Imperial Guardsman is able to get up wooden stairs.
I remember reading a thread that discussed this. They eventually decided that Chaos wins by moving all their operations to the second floor of standard houses.
That's why you burn down all the wooden houses. They are full of heresy. And they are also eco-friendly.
Yeah, Metahl Bawxes are much better then wooden houses.
Is retribution worth getting for the campaign? One of my friends is either going to gift me that or Brink, and my internet is such shit that I won't be able to play online often.
What? The Emperor was lying to prove his point (this is a universe were Gods actually exist) to a old man who was just trying to live the end of his life, and the old man had seen what he was to become - a irony of what he was trying to stop and for that Uriah was correct. The Emperor comes across as an arrogant egoistical man with a god complex and nothing more than a deceiver and a tyrant. [editline]8th October 2011[/editline] This is the problem with all this 'logic and reason' complex he was trying to uphold, 40k is a setting were basically the unnatural and 'unreality' is actually law, the warp itself technically shouldn't exist and creates all manner of creatures based purely on emotions and beliefs which is why daemons cannot last long without direct warp contact (i.e. because they technically shouldn't exist, but they do). A universe where if a Ork truly believes something works or exist or is correct - it is, and the same to humans as well.

Hence machine spirits actually being the physical manifestation of the beliefs of space marines in their vehicles?
I've never seen anything that actually states that the whole warp thing is supernatural.
The Warp is a psychic dimension parallel to real space, without form and with its own fluid laws of time and space. Each person sees the warp differently, some see numbers like something out of the matrix while others might see it in a stereotypical manner or others completely different, its completely different to our logical and scientific law dimension. So by that you could argue it technically shouldn't exist due to it being completely different to our real space and therefore unreal.
I was REALLY taken by surprise at how small these are. How do people fucking paint these? The paint is constantly too thin so it doesn't spread even and the colors under it show through. But you can't put a big drop on either or it'll go all over the place.
That's actually quite good for a beginner. If anything, on some spots of the fire warrior the paint looks a bit thick, perhaps you could thin your paints, but you gave it a nice base and decent detail so good job.
I've never seen anything that actually states that the whole warp thing is supernatural.
Tau.
Is retribution worth getting for the campaign? One of my friends is either going to gift me that or Brink, and my internet is such shit that I won't be able to play online often.
Brink was shit, really, i suggest you get Retribution, it is worth it for the campaign and the multiplayer is fine. [editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
Hence machine spirits actually being the physical manifestation of the beliefs of space marines in their vehicles?
That brings up the question: What are Machine Spirits, are they dead tech-priests whose souls were trapped inside a vehicle or something?
Brink was shit, really, i suggest you get Retribution, it is worth it for the campaign and the multiplayer is fine. [editline]8th October 2011[/editline] That brings up the question: What are Machine Spirits, are they dead tech-priests whose souls were trapped inside a vehicle or something?
No the Machine Spirits are like AIs or other stuff that operates without human interaction in a vehicle.
No the Machine Spirits are like AIs or other stuff that operates without human interaction in a vehicle.
Yeah, it is theorized that every piece of technology has minor AIs in them without the AdMech even knowing (Since they just make them from the millennia-old blueprints without actually looking into how they work), which are perceived to be Machine Spirits. They are also programs in cogitators, but completely mechanic machines still have machine spirits, so it could also be a bit of superstition-materializes-through-psyche. Which would explain how sacred seals can hold together a crappily maintained spaceships.
No the Machine Spirits are like AIs or other stuff that operates without human interaction in a vehicle.
So, let's say you're in a vehicle which has a machine spirit and the driver was just shot. Would the Machine Spirit be able to continue driving?
Alright, what about a Kasr, one of those Fortress cities on Cadia?
That would require a lot of maths'ing in terms of coming up with the "perfect" cokepoints and defensive positions.
Woe is going to betide me once I'll actually get to start IG army.
(Screw page numbers and all that, I was tired) http://www.warhammerdirect.com/product_info.php/cPath/39_15_19/products_id/148 Get these, screw GW's prices.
Anyone up for a game in the region of 1500 points on Vassal?
