Hm, Warhammer 40k Online?
Can I be Imperial Guard? Apparently Tau aren't an option, which I don't mind. But the Imperial Guard are the only other race that appeal to me.
Somewhat IG
* The assassin starts as a guardsman-esque character.
roll on 2013, cant wait to die as IG.
assassin class sounds like the class that is going to die in one hit, probably thats why they named it "assassin" so "cool kidz" will go after it and get used as a meatshield
i am dumb ignore this

I'm propably going for assassin because of the Guardsman "origins".

Are there any better pictures of the chaos gods? I agree with how Nurgle and Tzeentch look, but Slaanesh and Khorne look off.
I thought Tzeetch was supposed to have a thing for feathers. At least in fantasy he does.
So is Dark Millenium an action-based shooter-style-thingy (like Space Marine) or something a bit more old-school (Diablo, Dragon Age, that kinda thing)?
If it's the former I might look into seeing if my computer can run it.
I think the best way to describe it with what little we know right now would be like Global Agenda if it had substance and any background lore.
[editline]13th October 2011[/editline]
I just hope that they don't force you to be a specific chapter and have it so that the "Official" Chapters have bonuses to what they are. Like it wouldn't be that hard in my opinion if they did the first founding chapters like that.
[editline]13th October 2011[/editline]
Only thing that bugs me about it maybe being cross platform is the open world thing. Having a huge server wide exterminatus event on a planet would be fucking awesome, if there was a limit like 60 people or something per open world server like Global Agenda does, that would be lame as hell.
[editline]13th October 2011[/editline]
Having a system where you could convert to Chaos would be kind of nice. Not just some button clicking then chaos, but going down a specific quest line and such.
[editline]13th October 2011[/editline]
Just thinking. They're probably leaking some of the info out to get feedback on it.
It's okay, but i don't like the mess of colors around the guardsman and the battlesuit.
Yeah, I was planning on finishing it, but I never got around to it.
I have a half-finished drawing of an Angry Marine. Do you want me to post it?

Perhaps you could finish it first and then post it here?
I'm probably not getting 40k Online. Being a SPESS MARHEEN doesn't appeal to me. Even if all I do is die and get shot I'd rather be a Guardsman or something.
I mean, even if it was all
"Oh, I got caught in razor wire and bled out."
"Shit, I guess I got shot in the back and died."
"Ah, I stepped on a landmine."
I'd still have fun.
I should be able to level up everytime I die. Just like a real Guardsman.
I just want to live out my life long dream of being a techmarine

Did you even read the info on strategy informer or look at some Dark Millenium trailers?
There are guardsmen, they say that you start off as a guardsman as an assassin but later on become a proper assassin, they even showed some guardsmen in one of the trailers.
Hey guys, I found some Imperial guardsmen gameplay in one of the trailers.

I saw the trailers and read some things and as far as I can tell Guardsmen are almost exclusively NPC's.
I don't want to be an 'Assassin' because Assassins are stupid. If I could stay level 1-5 and be a Guardsman forever maybe. But I don't want to be a ~stealthy killer~ I want to have balls the size of the golden throne and die for the Emperor.

Then just continually run into high level areas and die. Simple.

Ever hear about an Eversor assassin?
Let me tell you about 'em:
WRRRRYYYY
STAB
KILL
BURN
FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING EMPEROR.
That's what an Eversor is, and quite frankly I'm surprised anyone's ever lived long enough to tell anyone that much.
Fools! your emperor is dead
Fools! your emperor is dead
Tell it to the powersword, heretic. It's easier to swallow.
I have discovered the truth behind Boreale, it's Brian Dobson.

The Culexus and the Callidus Assassins are pretty cool as well.
In fact I wouldn't mind playing as a soulless assassin that everyone finds horrifying to even be near, and to subvert and distort a pysker's power against themselves. Or maybe as a shape-shifting master of disguise and infiltration who wields exotic and deadly weaponry. I'd think they'd both be something new to try. Vindicare or Death cult would probably be kinda generic though.

How does an Eversor even fit into an MMO? There would be thousands of Eversor Assassins running around than. And aren't they like lethally addicted to chems and drugs? Does that mean I have to spend all my 'credits' to buy drugs or I die? It loses it's fear factor when anyone can just become an Eversor assassin.
I really wonder if Gamesworkshop even cares about their fucking fluff anymore. Clearly they don't when it comes to video games
It's not that, just Video games are so hard mechanically to work with fluff, sometimes you just have to sacrifice a bit for the sake of continence, story or just mechanically for the game to work.

I was just pointing out, not all the Assassins are sneaky Metal Gear wannabes.

So I can stab you after I break my sword in your chest.

Shit like weapon fluff I don't particularly care about. The rest of the fluff I do and I don't see how it's hard not to break it. Why can't games have a good story? Why can't said story / gameplay not break some basic fucking rules established in the fluff?

Well, at a guess I presume an Assassin class would be the 'rogue' analogue for the game. You could make an Eversor interesting by having a large part of the gameplay syncing up the right mix of stims with the right moves at the right time. And then explode when killed.
But the assassins in the game are probably gonna be Death Cult, which basically means they are super-zealous ritualistic murdering nutjobs.
Fools! your emperor is dead
He's not dead. The false emperor though. Man, he's a fucking vegetable on life support.

Alternatively, Assassins can be the Rogue and it's a speciality you can take, like in Dragon Age. That in turn allows you to don their super-slick black getup and gives you extra bonuses when you're on stims and shit, as well as a higher damage output but markedly reduced everything else. Like the party's tank, a bit.
That way, you can still have all the Officio Assassinorum sects playable without doing too much, though they'd probably be a bit OP considering they're some of the best units you can field.
