Matt Ward isn't a bad person. He just doesn't please some audiences.
Technically not a Chapter.
Well they are one of the three Ordos, but they practically are a chapter.

We never said he was a bad person (at least i don't think we did), but i think he could be a pretty friendly guy, we only hate Matt Ward's writing.

Hitler was pretty friendly and warm too, people just didn't like what he did with the war and minorities.
Sooo I'm doing a 40k forum adventure over on the MSPA forums and the largest complaint I've gotten about it is that people don't know the universe that much and are confused when it comes to the terms and jokes. How would you guys go about making an intro that would explain much needed stuff in the world? It focuses around the imperial guard, and specifically a commissar. Any ideas on what I should include in the new intro and what I should leave out for later?
Here's an image to compensate.

They're the militant Arm of the Ordos Xenos, not an actual Ordos themselves.
Ghost Ark reminds me of a Viking Long Ship for some reason, Now i want one to convert and use as counts as Land Speeder/Rhino/Land Raider. and lol, way to try and get more out of one kit GW, though couldn't you have done something a little less obvious as "turn this part upside down before you glue"

It's very Spess Mahreen centered, but it should do for now.

Who does he please? The Ultrasmurfs are now stupidly OP and bland to the point that they are reviled, and the other chapters HATE them, the sisters of battle are brutally slaughtered in every fluff they're in, the necrons are now bffs with the spacemarines blood anges, tyranids are gimped, and chaos has been bent over and hit with a paddle.
Who exactly likes matt ward?!

Ohh.
Same goes for the Grey Knights and Sisters of Battle, they're just militant arms, not the actual Ordos themselves?

That works for the empire as a whole, but there's nothing on Imperial Guard nor the commissariat in there at all.

Some people might like his stuff. I don't, except for those awesome Necron Deathmarks.

Who are of course BFFS with Blood Angels.
Well they are one of the three Ordos, but they practically are a chapter.
The Deathwatch are drawn from all the Space Marine chapters, meaning you can have Space Wolves, Imperial Fists, Dark Angels and Blood Angels all fighting together. I doubt they'd experience the same feeling of brotherhood that they would with someone from their own chapter, and their being assigned to the Deathwatch isn't permanent - eventually they get to return to their chapter as deathwatch veterans.
Not sure about the Blood Angels though, being bros with Necrons and everything.

-snip didn't know you were looking for background info regarding the imperial guard-
Well, if it helps, here's the Leixcanum page on the Imperial Guard.

When it comes to the Imperial Guard there isn't a whole lot to explain - just introduce them as the Imperium's Army, with Commissars being Political Officers responsible for upholding troop morale in the grimdark future.

Cain is kinda an integral part of the story... So yeah.
I guess that helps. Now to write a giant wall of text.

Yes.
The new Necron vehicles are pretty dumb. Why are they piloted.
the grey knights are with ordo maellus.
Deatwatch are with ordo xenos.
but who is to the ordo hereticus. i thought it was sisters but then i red somewhere that they were with adeptus munitorium. is this true if so who is with hereticus?
also i have no problem with the way mat ward writes though i may be crazy.

I think the Sisters of Battle are with the Hereticus, yes.
And the problem isn't with the way Ward writes; it with the fact that he disregards EVERYTHING like a man on drugs thinking he can fly. You just can't say a Necron can be BFFs with a Blood Raven, then they aren't Necrons, nor are they Blood Ravens.
HE JUST FUCKS UP EVERYTHING

The sisters are with both the Ecclisiarchy and the Hereticus Ordos ( Who monitors essentially the imperium for threats from within, including the Ministorium (Imperial Church) Munitorium is the logistical arm of the Imperium
The new named lords have Egyptian names, seems like the Tomb Kings in SPESSS rumors where true.

Why do they have names?
And Egyptian names are cool. They're all "Ech" this and "Kav" that. Nice and archaic-sounding.

Not all Necrons are mindless, soulless killing machines.
Necron Lords retain a bit of memory from their past life, so who knows, perhaps those Necron Lords could be Tomb King lords/sorcerers that were long ago turned into Necrons and remembered their own names.
I like the look on necrons Bawkses. but there not relly boxes are they..
I'm buying up all the old Necron warrior kits in my area before the new (more) expensive ones hit.
