Dark Eldar got a fluff rewrite? When did that happen, if i may ask?
When their 5th edition codex came out. They had minimal fluff before, so that's why I called it a rewrite.
2nd edition necrons. Go look at them.
Appearance != fluff Only the lord was overtly Egyptian anyway
Oh, by the way, there is still a tomb world that is basically like the old necrons. While they were in statis, the tomb world (or it's computer or whatever) accidentally erased all the sentience from the higher-ups. It then took control of them, and actively began attacking other tomb worlds and everyone else, believing it had "perfected" the necrons.
How would you know this? I smell some Ward in here, smells like...bad decisions.
Appearance != fluff Only the lord was overtly Egyptian anyway
Necrons have always had an Egpyptian theme. It was just less noticable.
But if the big 4 C'tan are gone none of this matters
Four? I thought there were only three notable star gods left, the Nightbringer, Deciever and Outsider.
Four? I thought there were only three notable star gods left, the Nightbringer, Deciever and Outsider.
Void Dragon.
Necrons have always had an Egpyptian theme. It was just less noticable.
Less noticable? They have blatant egyptian themes. Obelisks, scarabs, and the monolith looks like a pyramid.
Less noticable? They have blatant egyptian themes. Obelisks, scarabs, and the monolith looks like a pyramid.
Well, yes. But less noticable than in 2nd Edition or the new versions.
Well, yes. But less noticable than in 2nd Edition or the new versions.
Ah, gotcha
But if the big 4 C'tan are gone none of this matters
They're still there, just not as powerful as before, and subservient to the necrons as opposed to ruling over them. Yeah, I know, you still probably don't like it. They really changed the C'tan more than anything.
There are not nearly enough dead gaurdsmen in this picture to convince me you're worth the lasguns fired at you. And that's saying something.
I just had a similar picture, except half were marines, there was a couple of defiler corpses and maybe two or three guardsmen.
I wouldn't mind the new necron fluff so much, if it was done by someone other than matt ward, because I just know there's going to be some stupid and silly shit in there. Get another writer to do it? Absoloutely no problem with it.
We have cathedrals in space and giant walking titans that serve no real combat usefulness or would not work in reality and yet we're going to complain about how silly Matt Wards writing can be? This is why people shouldn't take 40k seriously.
i totally agree to that, we have all this ridiculous stuff but as soon as one person writes something like it he should lose his job or worse.
We have cathedrals in space and giant walking titans that serve no real combat usefulness or would not work in reality and yet we're going to complain about how silly Matt Wards writing can be? Ever heard of the word "Verisimilitude"?

I really am craving some Kettle Khorne.
But if the big 4 C'tan are gone none of this matters
GODDAMN, they are not GONE. They still exist, they just don't control Necrons anymore.
GODDAMN, they are not GONE. They still exist, they just don't control Necrons anymore.
"They're not gone they're just not there!"
it feels like it's mandatory to have somebody playing ig in last stand to get past wave 13 since without ig i can only reach wave 9-11, but with ig i can easily get to wave 16.
Necrons are not tomb kings. *This summarizes why the new fluff is stupid as fuck*
They are actually, check 2E fluff. Also, I'm all for replacing "new" fluff with superior fluff if it makes the race as a whole actually interesting. [editline]17th October 2011[/editline]
Doesn't matter, they have since separated themselves from the tomb kings. They are metal zombies enslaved by god-like beings. You can't just go "NEVERMIND THEY DECIDED TO DITCH THE C'TAN" and not expect justified backlash.
Didn't see the latest page. You can. I see no problem with casting aside Gods given Physical form, again in favour of variety. Oh god double post
Just got these in the mail from Black Library, The Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer, and the Imperial Munitorum Manual
it feels like it's mandatory to have somebody playing ig in last stand to get past wave 13 since without ig i can only reach wave 9-11, but with ig i can easily get to wave 16.
The only way I've reached 12+ was with either a boss Hive Tyrant or Chaos Sorc(who was the same player) The Tyrant raped on level 20 AoK when Gabriel showed up but the Rhinos ended up fuckin us over.
"They're not gone they're just not there!"
They are still there. Just not with the Necrons.
Does it have stuff in it like Remember kids a corpse is not just a corpse! They make a great subsitute for sandbags or field rations! And lets face it, where you're going theres going to be a whoooole lot of corpses around! A guardsman who knows the edible parts of the human body is a happy guardsman! Have fun y'all!
