So they're no longer on terms with the one faction that will give them bodies to interact with the material world. And they haven't lashed out at that faction yet for forsaking them, which would only be plausible with guys like the Nightbringer if their current bodies were destroyed before they knew they were never going to get replacements.
Maybe they can crash with Malal, in his pocket of still-might-be-there-but-good-as-gone oblivion.
See, all I've heard is that the C'tan are being taken out of the army list because as they are at the moment doesn't do justice to the character. Nothing about the Necrons separating from them.
I can understand in a way - it was odd how one of the Nightbringer's biggest enemies on the tabletop was bog standard snipers, and doesn't really fit in with the chap who literally put the fear of death into the galaxy
Ah, Malal, the Chaos god of Chaos.
He hates his own followers.

Removing of the C'Tan, I can handle, adding more personality and variety I can handle and actually like, it's how badly M Ward is going to butcher the fluff that I don't like. A good author could make the transition from fearless/souless machines into the new stuff, but I'm afraid it's gonna end up getting Warded.
I want to know why the fuck they have floating row boats with glowing axe's as oars.
WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA!?!? IN CLOSE COMBAT ITS PROBABLY OP AS FUCK!
I wouldn't mind if the boat looked Egyptian, but it looks Norse.
My fucking point. It's a goddamn viking boat. They also have goddamn chariots. What the fuck.
Chariots are Egyptian, but probably the wrong type of influence from them.
Shields I'm ok with because regardless of it being the same material as their skin, it improves their defence and keeps them on the field longer before needing to be teleported back and repaired. Means they can take more sustained fire and makes it harder to outgun them.

Tomb kings have chariots :downs:
Tomb kings have chariots :downs:
i don't want the necron to be tomb kings
i want the tomb kings to be tomb kings and the necron to be necron
True True. But some Ushabti style Necron would be fairly badass
They're still there, just not as powerful as before, and subservient to the necrons as opposed to ruling over them. Yeah, I know, you still probably don't like it. They really changed the C'tan more than anything.
IE as good as gone. Deceiver can go to fuck for all I care but don't they dare touch my Nightbringer, Outsider or motherfucking Void Dragon
[editline]18th October 2011[/editline]
To be honest, if the Void Dragon is just a shard it makes Big E defeating him really underwhelming
so apparantly the lore is that the Necron fought and killed the C'tan after their got their metal bawxes to live in
so the C'tan
gods
weren't stronger than the army THEY MADE
and this doesn't smell of a plot hole to anyone

I don't even fucking want to know how the Void Dragon fits into all of this now.

You would actually forfeit a 228 pound hierophant bio titan just so that it will look good?

Try to hold your breath when you're about to glue something, that way you don't accidentally inhale glue fumes.
So apparently the Necron have free will enough now to trade.
Who do the trade with and for what, exactly?
They trade Relics with the Blood Ravens, Obviously.
They trade Relics with the Blood Ravens, Obviously.
They technically are relics, though. Trade attempts would all go to hell as soon as the Blood Ravens realized that.

The C'tan weren't 'Gods' though (as in the Chaos gods are Warp Entities and can affect things outside the warp) they were just powerful things right? They weren't unkillable.
Sorry if i've got it wrong, i don't know too much about the Necrons.
Anyway, i don't mind some of the changes soo much. Allowing you to have your own personalized Necron army is great, it's not like much changed there - Necron lords always had something left of their former life and could act independantly. Unless i've got this wrong, the Inquisitor in Xenology was actually a Necron lord investigating Xenos.
I don't think the whole chapter takes part in the reclaiming, really. None of the main characters show tendencies towards it. It's probably some kind of secret order or the techmarines who do it.

The only recorded C'tan who were killed were killed by one of their own. They seem to be buffed even more in the new codex, but less of them are dead and they're even more unkillable (Necron's aren't able to kill them, just shard them).
Hell yeah, i just painted my first jewel using the 'Eavy Metal Team's tutorial, and it came out perfectly, and it is also the first model I've based, which also came out well.
I wanna thank Rayven, for all the tips, you gave me the confidence to do it well.

Wouldn't the First part be because no one had actually tried to kill them before?

Wanna post pictures?
Well, my mom got home from her vacation this morning and she got me a land raider.
I've got a few questions, if all of you wouldn't mind, seeing as this is the second time i make a vehicle, the first time being a chaos biker, which is incredibly small compared to a land raider.
1: Are tank commanders a necessity/do they cost points?
2: Is it possible to magnetize weapon choices or is that just about pointless?
3: Seeing as this is supposed to be a Grey Knight land raider, i was thinking about using a GKT head instead of the average tank commander heads in the one of the sprues.
4: Should i spray the entire model with Chaos Black?
1. It's best to put one on the tank whether you need it or not for wysiwyg situations.
2. yes, if your skill level is high enough
3. Is fine
4. Why would you paint a GK tank black, even as a base coat? Chapter colors are almost universal to every piece of gear.
Wanna post pictures?
I do, but every time I try, it always comes out like the lenses were 60 feet under water, way to blurry to see anything finer than the general colour, I'll keep trying though, see what I can come up with.
1: Are tank commanders a necessity/do they cost points?
You could magnetize him?
2: Is it possible to magnetize weapon choices or is that just about pointless?
Depends on if you want more options on how to deploy your land raider. It's a pretty costly model, so I would recommend it.
3: Seeing as this is supposed to be a Grey Knight land raider, i was thinking about using a GKT head instead of the average tank commander heads in the one of the sprues.
Sure.
4: Should i spray the entire model with Chaos Black?
Depends on your color scheme. It'll make shading easier, but bright colors harder.

Thanks you two.
It's just that i noticed that with GKTs, people used a basecoat of chaos black, so i thought it'd be good if i did the same.
However, what do you mean by skill, would it be hard to magnetize the weapons on the land raider?
There are just about 5 weapon choices, heavy bolters, twin linked meltas and some kind of rocket on top of the land raider.
Regarding the tank commander head, would it be acceptable to use the average techmarine head included in the sprues, or would that sort of be lore-breaking for Grey Knighhts to have a techmarine drive their land raider?
However, what does a wysiwyg situation mean?
I think a techmarine driving a Grey-knights Land raider would be slightly lore-breking. Grey knights look different than just space marines with a different head though.

Imagine if there actually was a WH40K TV show.
"Starring Johhny Vegas as Inqusitor Lord Mael"

Greyknights don't paint their armour for example, they keep it as plain geremite. They also enscribe it so their armour protects them from chaos daemons.
