So I just started painting my first guardsman, and holy crap. How do I get an even coat of paint on this thing?
Prime and Dry brush is what I'm doing. Going back with a detail brush for armor trip.
That is relative. All I see is them taking a huge runny dump on all of the established Necron lore.
Of what? Generic, faceless terminators out the extinguish all life? Because 40k already has that, it's called the Tyranids.
I dislike the changes to the Necrons as well, but it's not like we can do anything at this point.

Generic? Faceless?
I'm offended.

Necrons are fairly boring compared to every other race in 40k. I actually like a lot of the new units, as they are much more detailed and colorful compared to their old 4th edition counterparts.
Guys. Just thinking. Matt Ward was probably responsible for $7.50 for a model pack.
[editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
And ten dollars for the Tau commander. That's the price of literally all of the last stand if you bought the standalone version.
[editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
I would pay for a sticker of this banner.

BURN HIM, BURN HIM LIKE THE HERETIC HE IS!
This might also explain why Relic has turned away from their previous mod-acceptance stance to this new greedy one.
I now have murderous intent for this Matt Ward.

The purpose of the Necrons was to be plain, they're supposed to be completely blank slates left behind by the C'tan.
[editline]24th October 2011[/editline]
Tyranids, while soulless killers, are supposed to be diverse and biological while the Necrons roam as the plain cold hard steel.
Someone needs to just go up to him one day and record themselves asking him what the fuck he's thinking. Why he does what he does and generally continues to do it despite most of the people being against it. Then throw glitter at him.
Dual fusion blasters, seriously?
I'm guessing you one-hit everything now, don't you?
60 per shot. Pretty much everything takes 120dmg with ~100 armor penetration because the commander rarely shoots 2 different targets.

Well, I experimented, and applying layer upon layer of paint seems to work :v: (thin layers btw)

Ha. Space faggot who goes to a space rock when he dies.

How are they generic? They are the oldest species in 40k, they've been around since practically the dawn of the universe. They fought against the Eldar's creators, and were indoctrinated by the C'tan. Their purpose may be simple but their origins and lore are unique and very interesting. The Tyranids want to feed, they don't want to destroy all life, its just a side effect of them feeding. The Necrons are completely different.
And now they are pussies.
Here's a picture of one of my more 'done' Tyranids. I've been putting this off too long, the picture was taken yesterday.
I've been using a lot of different colour schemes for each of my Tyranids, seeing which one I like best and which is easier to accomplish. I don't like this one because it's too dark, but that's just me.

be happy, you got more artistics and feedback than I did

Hardly. They used to be (4E), faceless servants who, sure may have done some interesting stuff in the past, but currently have nothing to show for it. If I handed you a shitty film, would you accept my excuse of;
"The Prequel was so much better"?
Their overhaul doesn't remove any of their old fluff as far as I know, it just makes the current Necrons dynamic and interesting. If you really want to, you can retcon everything that happened in the 5E codex out (as I did with the C'tan walking and talking).
Why are all of the DoW2 voice acting lines cut off near the end?
The fault of the converter and format. DoW II uses FSB and there isn't many converter for the format. Normally sound files have a half or quarter second of silence on the end, FSB have none which causes some converted to cut off the end (Trying to trim the 'empty' space that isn't empty).
I've been thinking about buying some models. Not because I want to play the tabletop game but because I want to try out a new artistic medium. Also, the models look awesome
Thats what I used to do. Only played prolly 2 games ever. I just collected Necron/Tomb Kings and the occasional Chaos SM

Am I the only one who HATES Games Workship brushes? They're worthless, fray and go everywhere, spread paint like a drunk.
I've been using brushes from a local crafts store. Cost a dollar less and are six times as durable and control-able.
We need a moderator game of 40k, using vassal or some shit
rayvenq and johnnymo on one side, and some other mods on the other
He'd need a way to get rid of the paint first, or it'll end up looking like an amorphous blob of colour. A bit late, but....

Guy left a plastic model sitting in it for 11 months. It was fine. I use it as well, no problem.
