isn't a wraithlord just a big skeletal-like structure made of wraithbone possessed/inhabited by souls of dead eldar heroes?
While funny... you don't pilot Wraithlords. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] A bit late, but.... Guy left a plastic model sitting in it for 11 months. It was fine. I use it as well, no problem.
Plastic =/= Resin Stuff that normally cleans plastic can melt, make rubbery or stain or otherwise effect resin.
Plastic =/= Resin Stuff that normally cleans plastic can melt, make rubbery or stain or otherwise effect resin.
Oh. Figured he meant normal models, not Finecast or whatever.
Hardly. They used to be (4E), faceless servants who, sure may have done some interesting stuff in the past, but currently have nothing to show for it. If I handed you a shitty film, would you accept my excuse of; "The Prequel was so much better"? Their overhaul doesn't remove any of their old fluff as far as I know, it just makes the current Necrons dynamic and interesting. If you really want to, you can retcon everything that happened in the 5E codex out (as I did with the C'tan walking and talking).
Diversifying the ranks of the Necrons isn't what I find ridiculous. Its the whole "LETS ALLY OURSELVES WITH THE BLOOD ANGELS" and shit that pisses me off. And the emotions. Necrons don't have emotions. They are soulless zombie robots, and they are ruining this by making them "DEEPER". Its like someone took a zombie survival horror game and made it so you had to talk the zombies down instead of shooting them.

Pretty sure only tomb lords/overlords have emotions now anyway, you can just say that they are still corrupted by the c'tan or something and keep doing everything as you used to do.
What exactly am I looking at, here?
ohgod hahahahhaha
What exactly am I looking at, here?
Holy shit, was that Steve Blum? And I'm pretty sure that the japanese screaming is from Alexander Anderson of Hellsing Ultimate. I know this a WH40k discussion but this is one anime I'm sure you will all enjoy. It's violent, brutal, dark, and badass.
What exactly am I looking at, here?
did they use a cut-down version of the windows live messenger sign-out sound for his footsteps?
Cool.
While looking at wh40k models, I stumbled upon gundam models. Oh man, this is going to be a busy winter break. Such a shame they're probably going to end up looking like shit but I'll probably start with the gundam models since they don't need to look so realistic
Just watched Inquisitor. Holy shit that was terrible.
For the time it was made, back when 40K was cheesy, it would have been seen as Awesome.
NO THEY CANT CHANGE MUH NECRUNS THEY HAV NO EMOTIONS I MADE IT UP SO THEY DONT HAVE IT LALALALALALALALLAALALA
Shows how much you know about the fluff. Its already been established, when the Necrons were transferred to their metal bodies, their minds were suppressed to the point they would serve without question. So no, it isn't something I made up and wish to keep. Stop talking through your arse.
If they were kept enslaved and automatons with no emotions (except for the lords who have a bit more autonomy) but adaptive forms (aka new models) who were still just as emotionless, I'd be fine with it, Afterall, the Central core of a Tomb World has to be Intelligent, so its doubtful it wouldn't come up with alternate combat forms. DTkach, personally, I see it more as the souls being essentially, batteries, unable to control their own actions, but forced to witness everything "they" do. PRetty much similar to what you said.

No, it's just going terrible now. [editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
but um, only tomb lords/overlords are going to be non-suppressed in the new edition anyway? all of necron warriors etc. are gonna stay the same from what I've heard
It's Matt Ward, for all we know, anything could happen.
but um, only tomb lords/overlords are going to be non-suppressed in the new edition anyway? all of necron warriors etc. are gonna stay the same from what I've heard
Flayed ones were said to have emotions too. And they joined forces with the Blood Angels at one point. Surely that takes some emotive thought.
Someone should just get a job at GW HQ and then push Ward down a flight of stairs.
The thing that pisses me off is the total removal of units, I can understand remodeling for athletics and new units but the C'tan were the literal centerpieces of my Necron army, both visually and with the Nightbringer in TT as well. Kind of gutting if they are just visual now, destined to sit on a shelf till I find somebody crazy enough to play the old rules with me. And they better not mess too much with base point values, necrons have one of the best 500 point forces in terms on flexibility and endurance 1 lord with res orb = 140 20 warriors = 360 For a total of 500 Fits standard 1hq 2 troops is tough as fuck and can deal with heavy inf and light vehicles. At my GW shop I try to play small rapid fire games (It's tiny so larger battles just end up as non tactical sit and shoot affairs.) That can be done after work in under an hour (Before some of the err, larger staff start to stink up the place with the wonderful mix of BO and solvents) The only thing I’m looking forward too is the change to try out some different styles of weathering (Greenish tinge oxidization due to large areas of "fancy") It's probably the only time I've really been against some of the stuff released in a codex.

Are there any other 40k movies besides Inquisitor and Ultramarine?
Nope. Not official Anyway.
Are there any other 40k movies besides Inquisitor and Ultramarine?
Just watch the Final Liberation Cut scenes, Commissar Holt is boss tier. Then revel in that Shakespearian actor accidentally sounding incredible with the menace in which he pronounces "Mekboyz" not because of his incredible hatred for xenos but because of being given this terrible acting gig by his agent. Shame more people still don't play it multiplayer, Myself and Cloakraider has some major duking sessions with major rage being directed at lifta droppaz and kannon speedterz for their bullshit.
Hopefully you guys don't rip it apart because I'm really proud of it. I started working on my Tau Devilfish at 5PM and I just finished for the night at 6:30AM. That's about 13 hours of straight marathon painting. Literally. No breaks or anything. Oh, also I know everyone is going to say THIN YOUR PAINTS. But I don't really know how, haven't found a proper tutorial so I didn't know if I was doing it right, or one on how to make washes either so I just decided to do this. It looks fine to me, but it's not professional quality I know that. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_02184.JPG[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_02194.JPG[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_02202.JPG[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_02213.JPG[/t] I was originally going to do the interior white because I had no other colors. It turned out shit so I put yellow over it and by than it was so thick with paint and I had wasted so much time I didn't bother to fix it. You'll also notice quite a few places where you can still see plastic. I haven't invested in primer/undercoat yet so I just paint directly to plastic and do a few coats. Once everything is painted I'll go back through and fix minor mistakes and put more coats where needed. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_02224.JPG[/t] I didn't glue the hatch, turret or any of that yet, probably won't either. I don't want to make anything perm yet. I kind of want to get a Command and Control kit, give it a white paint job in a few places to make it a Squad Leader (I plan to get two more of these things) and a Smart Missile System. I'll probably paint the Commander for that too, but only if I have an extra Tau helmet. I don't use plain Tau heads. Still to do: * Decals * Side Doors * Both Engines * Landing Gear * Gundrones * Touch-Up work and further detailing
A basecoat spray will do wonders to the finish so invest in that, also get a craft knife and maybe even some files to trim the flash and mold lines as I can still see quite a few. What brand paint do you use? I don't understand how it gets that thick unless you're using dulux or those dropper types. Doesn't really look too bad, since the dividing lines are still there.
I have sandpaper but it doesn't really do the trick very well. This paycheck (Friday) I'm getting undercoat sure thing. I've only used the Games Workshop paint thus far, I shake it up and that's how it comes out to me. I don't really mind it, I think it looks fine but I know I could make it look a lot better if I figured out how to do a wash or water them down, I just haven't figured it out yet and I can't find a concise tutorial on how to make it right. If it's a good paycheck I'm going to get a Tau Mech or two, I haven't bothered to learn the names yet. I want the one with the big guns for myself Broadside I think. And I'm going to get one, paint it Pink with a White trim, put Hello Kitty and Heart stickers on it and give it to my girl friend. It's a fun fact; to note that the entire time I did this my girl friend watched. Straight through all 13 hours with me. "I wish I was a little model so you'd paint me and pay attention to me" I recall her saying once.
