You know, Matt Ward is actually the perfect WH40k writer. He writes shit that's so over the top and retarded, that it just fits in perfectly with wh40k.
Hell, everything contradicts itself, in one moment the terminator armour can stand even a titan stomping on it and in the next, an eldar shuriken catapult can tear through it like butter.
There's no truth or logic in the world of warhammer40k, only retarded stuff with varying degrees of awesome.

Achievement manager.
Its no coincidence that he unlocked 3/4s of the achievements in the game in the same minute.

Whats bad about him is that he takes a great big shit on the lore players have been used to for years.
Then he comes out with something as stupid as the units in the Blood Angels Codex.
Deep striking Land Raiders. Flying Librarian dreadnoughts.

Yeah, it looks like he took a random verb and word generator to get ideas for the lore.
Hey I got a good one

Yeah I know, change is horrible!
Deep striking Land Raiders is awesome, it's grimdark as fuck, I mean you take one of the heaviest tank available and decide that fuck it, let's drop it from space for ultimate fuckery and badassery, I'm surprised they hadn't thought of that before. Dropping tanks from space is AWESOME!
Flying (librarian) dreadnoughts is also kickass, fuck I mean it's a flying robot that shoots death and kicks misery, this is also something I'm surprised they hadn't included before.
Librarian dreadnoughts make perfect sense, librarians are supposed to keep the history of the chapter alive, and I think it's perfectly fitting that once a librarian is within deaths grasp he is given a dreadnought so that he may still serve the chapter.

That still shows that the terminator armour is capable of extreme pressure, yet is somehow easily shredded by what is basically nano-razors.
I must be the only one who plays soul storm instead of DC.
Guys. Just thinking. Matt Ward was probably responsible for $7.50 for a model pack.
[editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
And ten dollars for the Tau commander. That's the price of literally all of the last stand if you bought the standalone version.
[editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
I would pay for a sticker of this banner.
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/12035/
I've payed 14.98$ for around 2 skin packs, Ulthwé and Dark Angels pack, and now this comes out, and it has all the skin packs and it's 19.99.
Gee, how about releasing this sooner, Relic?
Diversifying the ranks of the Necrons isn't what I find ridiculous. Its the whole "LETS ALLY OURSELVES WITH THE BLOOD ANGELS" and shit that pisses me off. And the emotions. Necrons don't have emotions. They are soulless zombie robots, and they are ruining this by making them "DEEPER".
Its like someone took a zombie survival horror game and made it so you had to talk the zombies down instead of shooting them.
It's the whole;
"LET'S DO SOMETHING NEW". I already said, we have soulless killers, they're Tyranids. They've not made it so that you have to talk them down instead of killing them either. They're alluding to something that always existed in Necron fluff, that Pariahs and Necron Lords had personalities. They've just emphasised the fact.
[editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
Flayed ones were said to have emotions too. And they joined forces with the Blood Angels at one point. Surely that takes some emotive thought.
Flayed Ones always had emotion. Why else would they clad themselves in the flesh of their victims? If it's "terror tactics" why didn't everyone else do it?
Anyway, i know nearly none of you play Grey Knights, apart from Mesothere, but i'd appreciate if somebody could tell me what i should get/if this is an okay starter list for Grey Knights.
10 Grey Knight Purifiers
3 Psycannons, one psycannon on one squad and two on the other.
1 Daemon Hammer on each squad
300 pts
5 Grey Knight Paladins
Psycannon
Master-crafted Daemon Hammer
300 pts
Castellan Garran Crowe 150 pts
Land Raider 250 pts
Total: 1000 pts
Am i lacking anything, or is this a bad list?
Should i skip the Purifiers and get psyflemen dreadnoughts instead?
Anybody? :smith:
Doesn't anybody have any suggestions or know if this is a good list for a beginner or not?
Anybody? :smith:

It seems like you are missing a bit of crowd control.
Ive got some Paladins and a bunch of normal knights myself but Ive never played with them. Do the Purifiers get flamers as a weapon choice?

They have Incinerators as a weapon choice, but Purifiers are crowd control.
They've got the ability Cleansing Fire, which practically annihilates horde armies.
I'm sure the necrons always had emotions. It's just when your face is an eyebrowless block of craven metal, it's pretty hard to express anything.
I just realised the DKoK General doesn't have a Bionic arm, him holding his gun in one hand looks wierd.
Hopefully you guys don't rip it apart because I'm really proud of it. I started working on my Tau Devilfish at 5PM and I just finished for the night at 6:30AM. That's about 13 hours of straight marathon painting. Literally. No breaks or anything.
Oh, also I know everyone is going to say THIN YOUR PAINTS. But I don't really know how, haven't found a proper tutorial so I didn't know if I was doing it right, or one on how to make washes either so I just decided to do this. It looks fine to me, but it's not professional quality I know that.
-Tau devilfish pictures-
I was originally going to do the interior white because I had no other colors. It turned out shit so I put yellow over it and by than it was so thick with paint and I had wasted so much time I didn't bother to fix it. You'll also notice quite a few places where you can still see plastic. I haven't invested in primer/undercoat yet so I just paint directly to plastic and do a few coats. Once everything is painted I'll go back through and fix minor mistakes and put more coats where needed.
I didn't glue the hatch, turret or any of that yet, probably won't either. I don't want to make anything perm yet. I kind of want to get a Command and Control kit, give it a white paint job in a few places to make it a Squad Leader (I plan to get two more of these things) and a Smart Missile System. I'll probably paint the Commander for that too, but only if I have an extra Tau helmet. I don't use plain Tau heads.
Still to do:
* Decals
* Side Doors
* Both Engines
* Landing Gear
* Gundrones
* Touch-Up work and further detailing
That looks awesome, really, but 13 hours and staying up all night assembling/painting a model is unhealthy, in my opinion.

It does funnily enough, it just pushes its luck sometimes, case in point, Kaldor Draigo.
Despite what many believe, the Ultramarines did win the Battle for Macragge and lost the entire first company in the Process. That wasn't fanwank by Matt Ward. He just put heavy emphasis on it because his favourite chapter are the Ultramarines. If I wrote the codex, I'd put emphasis on the deeds of the Imperial Fists. Boo hoo.
I have sandpaper but it doesn't really do the trick very well. This paycheck (Friday) I'm getting undercoat sure thing.
I've only used the Games Workshop paint thus far, I shake it up and that's how it comes out to me. I don't really mind it, I think it looks fine but I know I could make it look a lot better if I figured out how to do a wash or water them down, I just haven't figured it out yet and I can't find a concise tutorial on how to make it right.
If it's a good paycheck I'm going to get a Tau Mech or two, I haven't bothered to learn the names yet. I want the one with the big guns for myself Broadside I think. And I'm going to get one, paint it Pink with a White trim, put Hello Kitty and Heart stickers on it and give it to my girl friend. It's a fun fact; to note that the entire time I did this my girl friend watched. Straight through all 13 hours with me. "I wish I was a little model so you'd paint me and pay attention to me" I recall her saying once.
For normal paints try 1:1 water and paint, and for foundations 3:1 water and paint and a tiny amount of dish soap (or use distilled water for watering down).lets you do thin layers but still thick enough you wont be takign a hundred layers to do anything.
and Frankly, with that, since there is a lot of flat surfaces with no detail on, what you've done already makes it look pretty nice.

Except it's Codex Ultramarines.
As for the Grey KNights? "pushes it's luck" are you fucking kidding me, Daemonic Weapons, outright murdering Sisters of battle, Daemon swords being used by the grey knights, grand master carving his name into fucking Mortarion! More than pushes its luck.
I've not read the Grey Knights codex, I'm of the belief that they shouldn't be a playable army. All I know of Draigo is that he went into the warp unprotected and killed a king Bloodthirster or somesuch. And it was normal GKs who slaughtered the Sisters.

They are supposed to be. At least heavy bolter shells in the least.
Also curious - what's the standard painting process?

Because that makes it so much better, right?
They could be both a playable army, and have decent balanced fluff too.

Exactly why shouldn't they be a playable army?
They have enough lore and such to be considered as one, even though they are just a Space Marine chapter.
Anyone got some tips on painting Power Weapons?

varying from model to model really but heres what the official how to paint citadel minatures tells me
basecoat (spraying or otherwise)
washes (optional again varies depending on the model)
skin or armour which ever there is more of then the other
another lighter wash (I've never dared to do this personally)
highlights for skin or armour
finer details like face/claws and so on
that's the guide to nid's at least it's similar for everything but in different orders
from Games Workshop How to paint Citadel miniatures. It's a really in depth book that covers everything and has step by step tutorials for nearly everything
