Okay, running a test here: Who likes the C'tan? Rate agree if you do and disagree if you don't.
The results go in favor for the C'tan, but just by one. Seems like the exact opposite is going on with /tg/, claiming the loss of the C'tan is a good thing (in the upcoming codex). By the way, does anyone have a large resolution picture of the picture on page 100 of the 5th edition (latest) rulebook? A friend says he can paint it for me on a large canvas if I can get him a good resolution picture of it.
feeble
Ever see a land raider used? That bitch has armor 14.
Ever see a land raider used?
Yes and I immediately saw ten hormagaunts running up it's ass.
Implying that the land raider has an ass.
wish i had space marine, but retribution will keep me occupied for a bit.
Play the final mission with Diomedes, Tarkus and Martellus using melee weapons and give Cyrus a bolter. Don't build any troops or vehicles either. It's actually really fun, especially the twenty minute fistfight with Kyras.

god trolling the retribution chat is so easy when waiting for a game
Can Nids even Death or Glory in TT?
Anyone can Death or Glory.
Anyone can Death or Glory.
Welp, I am not tank shocking those bastards, ever.
Exterminatus is fun, but it cries out for Tyranids. It also drives home my dislike of the voice acting. DoW 1 and 2 had great unit voices, I don't know why the Space Marines just grunt and nothing else. The air should be alive with battlecries.
Chaos Space marines won me over with their battlecries. How could I not if they scream out things like "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!" I wonder if there are any WH40k themed metal bands.

I've been to the local ("local", it's about 700 kilometers away) games workshop now, the plan was to buy AoBR and a pack of assault terminators. I pick up the stuff I want, and an employee comes and talks to me, trying to sell me shit. He asks me if I don't want to buy paint so that I can colour my units, but I tell him that I'm not interested in GWs overpriced acrylic paint and that I've already got shitloads of it (for 1/4th of their price, and 4 times the quantity). The employee gets super pissed and gets really creepy and just tries even harder to sell me things. I just drop off the things that I was planning on buying, and .ell him that I'm no longer interested in buying anything, and that I want to talk to his manager. He gets even angrier (what the fuck?) and tells me that I'm no longer welcome at this store, and now I'm home and writing a letter of complaint to the store. I mean what the fuck, how was he even able to score that job when he acts like a complete lunatic when I say I'm not interested in buying more things?

GW paints are designed for their stuff so i guess they are the most suitable for them really.
GW paints are as good as any acrylics, they just cost a bit more. I personally prefer Vallejo but I use GW because I have lots of leftovers
Why didn't you just lie and say you have a friend that's letting you use theirs so you can get the hang of it rather than being a bit of a dick.
The problem is is that the employee should have remained calm. Just because someone doesn't agree with the pricing of the store's products, or isn't interested in buying anything more than he's already grabbed doesn't give him a reason to get angry and kick a customer out of the store. You don't kick someone out of the store for not buying something, you kick them out for being disruptive. Yes, Dick (:v:) could have been a bit nicer about it, but the employee also needs to keep his calm. Shit happens in retail and you have to deal with it in a calm and kind manner. It's how the business works. And something one of the employees at the local GW brought up is that he doesn't care if you buy non-GW products for the minis. The less money you spend on paint, brushes, glue, etc., the more you can spend on minis and the more sales he (and the company) will make.
It start easier but end up being harder.
Correction, that's Bloodied Colosseum. Anvil of Khorne is much easier than Bloodied Colosseum, both start easy but become gradually harder, and Bloodied Colosseum by far has the hardest waves later on. Did you get AoBR and the Assault Terminators, though?

Basically, the conversation went something like this GW Employee : So I see you're buying the AoBR, is this the first time you're playing Warhammer? Dick : No, I've played before, but it was a really long time and I heard that AoBR is a very good starter kit. GW Employee : Yeah, it's a solid buy through and through. Would you perhaps be interested in buying one of the starting paint kits too? You don't get any colours with the starting kit, you'll have to buy that separately. Dick : No thank you, I've already got paint at home that I can use. GW Employee : Oh, well this colours is specifically made for painting our models. Dick : Thanks but no thanks, I've got a lot of acrylic paint at home so I should be good. And after that he got pissed and creepy and annoying and now I have no AoBR and assault terminators, and quite frankly I'm not even sure if I want to get it any longer.

Anyway, don't let an annoying employee change your mind about getting AoBR and some Assault Terminators, i'd really like to see those models painted and assembled by you in the future.
Can weapon challenges (Eg 250 bolter kills) be done in Exterminatus?
I try not to mention owning anything not from GW, they always seem to treat you like scum. I had some blast and flame templates I'd printed onto acetate, and they jumped me like I was some kind of heretic. Still had them from when they provided copies to photocopy in the back of the 3rd edition. Though I often feel sorry for the guys that work there, I was after a copy of a book (No idea what it was now) and the guy said he didn't have any and to try waterstones down the street. Later when I had a match against him he told me he got chewed out because he should have said for him to order one and wait for it to apear in the store. Crazy when it was just a little side comment, with him trying to be helpful. Not sure how I would avoid going insane working in the local GW, it's tiny and crammed full of BO ridden guys that seem to live there and tiny children who are lucky not to inhale any paint or parts. Oh and the music selection strays towards "total brutal-Austrian Death Machine" far too often for a saturday morning.

Yeah I've gone and posted the letter of complaint now, games workshop seems to be a pretty terrible company though ; I've written several emails regarding my account on their site and I've yet to get an answer, I even tried calling but after waiting 20 minutes, they said that I would have to email them about it, even after I told them that I had emailed them about it. First I thought it was my email that was wrong, but I can send emails to other people, and I'm sending to this adress: orders@games-workshop.co.uk So I don't know what it is that takes so damn long time for them to answer. I really want to support them because warhammer 40k is such an amazing game, and since Dark Heresy is so much fun (I've got the book now, but work has swamped me so I can barely find the energy to do anything on my spare time :v:). But the way they are treating their customers (me), I find it hard to find it in me to love them. Am I just cursed with terribly bad luck or what's the deal?
