Are you saying the Imperium can go around turning people into Servitors?
Speaking of Dark Heresy, does somebody here play it? I've been looking to purchase the basic book, but I'd first like to hear somebody's opinion on it because I'll have to import it and it's gonna be pretty damn expensive since taxes in Brazil are crazy.
Will I be able to be a good DM with my limited amount of WH40k knowledge? I've played all of the DoW games and read quite a few articles at the Lexicanum. More importantly, is it fun like D&D, Shadowrun, Vampire: The Masquerade, etc.?
Dark Heresy is fun if you've a good GM.

There's a humourous tidbit in one of the Cain novels, where he remarks about a system that houses Guard Veteran rehabilitation asylums, and that, conincidentally, its also a major servitor manufacturing area in the sector (for those who can't read between the lines: Guard Vets who can't be rehabilitated/are too difficult to, get turned into servitors)
I think they do, some regiments at least, in a couple of the Gaunt's Ghosts books they mention that Guardsmen can buy stuff in town or camps that follow regiments, so they must get money from somewhere.
I'm pretty sure I read Imperial Crowns or something of that sort in either Ravenor or Eisenhorn, they were apparently useless on a rather backwards planet which suggests they saw something of a widespread usage elsewhere.

They are most likely to become combat servitors.
To preorder the CE of space marine or not. Decisions, decisions.
Well this begs the question if the Imperium is even capitalist
Depends on the planet sector whatever. The imperium isn't exactly one nation but more a billion different nations all under one banner sharing one army. They have certain duties to the imperium - in tithes mostly but as long as those are followed the planet itself can govern itself more or less alone.
Obviously other organisations walk in in their own areas of interest - like the ecclesiarchy.
Pretty much each planet is:
Pay your tithes
Worship the Emperor
...
That about covers it

Success is measured in blood, yours or your enemy's.
Man i love Dark Crusade quotes.
If I remember correctly most planets and ?some swaths of imperial space? have their own local form of currency that is useless and trivial in the Imperium as a whole. Tithes and whatnot are manufactured and raw materials, and men in some cases.
Tithes are foodstuffs and the like, raw materials. Money is useless to the Imperium as a whole.

I want it but there doesn't really seem to be enough to justify the extra price.
I want an Imperial Fists skin :argh:
