The CG is amazing but the voice acting is absolutely abysmal.
I do have amazing hopes for it considering it's two years away though. The CG absolutely blows Ultramarines out of the water.

Which is a shame, since I often see one person making amazing CG things like this, but simply not having good voice actors.
If the voice acting still sucks when it comes out, I'll just mute it and do my own voice acting.

Good voice acting should be easier to find, though.
There are hordes of 40k fans out there, at least one or two of them must have fitting voices. By which I mean posh British voices.

Have all the posh voices you want, if their microphone is shit it won't count for anything, also the firing animations are a bit weird but obviously they're not exactly hard to fix.

CG looks awesome, and the grey knight terminator slicing through the daemons at the end of the video looks pretty decent too.
I mainly don't like the voices, though, if the guy expects success, he'll have to get good voice actors, and the twin linked bolter the grey knight terminator is firing?
It's a bit off.

You need pretty decent equipment for good voice acting. Though I got the feeling that a lot of the footage was prelim. The devastators notably. The animation and rendering looked a few degrees worse than the rest.

Marcellus is ready to kick some ass.
I love it, Contemptors kick ass
So I just played my first game of 40k on the tabletop, my dark angels (played under the space marine codex) versus his tau, was really fun. Here are things of note:
*Some fire warriors managed to actually hold up assault marines in close combat. What in the actual fuck?
*His deep-striking crisis suits all arrived on the second turn perfectly. Again, what the fuck.
*My ven-dread survived lots of missiles with-out taking any damage.
We were not perfect on the rules. The game got cut off early so we called it a draw. Many foul xenos were purged in the glory of the eternal god-emperor. Fun was had by all.

We should make a facepunch fan-dub :v:

Vanguard Veterans are great melee units when they get in close, paired with a Chaplain even more so. The only difference between tactical and assault marines is that assault marines have Jetpacks and one extra attack for having two weapons. Vanguard Veterans get three (2 base + 2 weapons) attacks and more weapon options. Oh and perfect deep strikes is nothing, the Tau get a 4 wound Shas El crisis suit commander.
I haven't played Dark Angels though, what special rules do veterans get? I bought a box of them for fun ages ago.

I don't know, I was playing them as normal marines because I don't have the codex. :V

This video is conflicting (not going to comment the voice "acting2), some of those animations are just breathtaking while some of it (the space marine shooting) just looks so damn ugly it looks as if it was taken from "Ultramarines".
Given how everything else looks, I'm just going to guess the animator is going to fix those things. =)

We do believe one thing... This.... is a l-IE!
So I ordered Space Marine from intkeys.com and they sent me a duplicate one. Hopefully they won't be jerks and not send me another one.

The things I want to complain beside the voice acting is the shaking camera and the black out ending part. And some animations are awkward.

A really sad thing, but this is to be expected since our technology is advancing far faster than anything else, well, ever.

Voice acting is actually very costly, my cousin is a singer so she has to go to a recording studio in order to get anything you'd want to listen to. It costs thousands to get the equipment to record sounds and voices, while it costs very little comparably to get into CG and other graphic design.
Okay, so if there might be Tau in Q1, should I hold off on expanding my army?
Why do I get the feeling that a new tau codex would include some silly way to take crisis suits as a troop choice?

DOES DREADNOUGHT MARCELLUS WALLACE LOOK LIKE A BITCH TO YOU?

(He had better rolls than you.)
*His deep-striking crisis suits all arrived on the second turn perfectly. Again, what the fuck.
(This one happens with most deep-striking troops.)
*My ven-dread survived lots of missiles with-out taking any damage.
(This one is possible)

Ahahaha, pure gold.
Should I buy the 5th ed rulebook today (only have 3rd and 4th ed)?
Shit just costs so much.

Wow, awesome job at painting there.
By the way, does the Contemptor count as a regular dreadnought in tabletop?
Wow, awesome job at painting there.

No, it has FW rules. Not everyone will agree to play with those (if they don't they're probably asshats) so then you can just roll it as a regular dread I guess.
Why do I get the feeling that a new tau codex would include some silly way to take crisis suits as a troop choice?
Because that's 5Es Gimmick, pretty much every army has some special character or other that allows you to take an Elite Choice as Troops.
Dark Eldar can take Haemonculi to allow Wracks (Elites) to be taken as Troops.
Dark Angels can take the master of the Deathwing to allow Terminators as Troops.
Tyranid can takes Warriors as troops as default.
I forget the other armies, but I honestly wouldn't object to seeing Crisis Suits as Troop Units. They're versatile, they should be fairly tough, and they're not exactly rare.

Try leaning your forearms on the table edge or something.
Holding your wrists together also works.
