There's this one:
The WD that promoted the 4th ED Eldar release had that image on the front, and I only remember it because there hasn't been a WD battle report with Black Templars in since. Every issue with W40k they always pit generic old [del]Space Marines[/del] Ultra Marines against the new release.
Do the Dawn of War games introduce 40k lore or have some type of encyclopedia for people who never played 40k?

Not really, you should be able to pick up what it basically is though.

Okay, thanks.

They add some basics but sort of scratches only the surface. But introduces the factions pretty well in some way.
Spend load-sa hours reading the lexicanum and you'll be good.
I've read enough of the Lexicanum, lurked this thread enough, Browsed GW's online shop enough, Played enough WH40K:space marine and chatted with my friend about 40K to get the gist of things.
P.S any good Tau wallpapers?

No mask! The guys at my Craftworld will love this!
It feels strange seeing the Eldar winning over the Imperium
I have probably been indoctrinated by the Imperial-centric fluff

Wait, you mean there is space marines other than the Ultramarines?

The thing about the Eldar in fluff, is that they're one of the things that Imperial commanders fear most. Eldar Craftworld forces are generally directed with such prescience and predictive shenanigans that if the Eldar attack, you know they're going to defeat you.
Of course, this is often ignored in order to make whatever character you're reading about sound cool, and to stop the Eldar from being even more stupidly powerful.

In that last picture I posted, you can see it's Chaos, check out the dreadnought. Only Chaos Dreads have an uncovered dude.

And only chaos have the I and holy aquilla
Inquisition vs chaos then a wild banshee suddenly appears.

Probably a penitent engine. Plus one of the characters has an inquisitorial rossette on his pauldron. I'd assume an inquisitorial|priestly force is in question.
witch hunter force with an inquisitor most likely
I am more concerned about what is happening on the second Tau picture. Those Chaos forces are mutated beyond the lines that I have seen before.

That's because they're dark eldar Wracks.

Ah, Dark Eldar. I am surprised that they look less pansy than the usual.
Anyone have a suggestion for a color scheme for my Baneblade? Going to get some paints tomorrow. Currently have the Hobby Starter Set but not sure if there are any other colors I might need.
I'm making rules and stats for the Doctor for a game I'm going to be playing soon.
Fast runner
The Doctor is capable of outrunning the best in the galaxy and can move up to a maximum of 12". He is not subject to terrain or dangerous terrain tests.
Sonic Screwdriver
Range 18" automatic hit
Str 8
Shots Special chart:
Against models:
1. Screwdriver has no effect, clearly the model is carrying wooden equipment, none at all or powerful enough to withstand the screwdrivers effects (for now).
2-5. The Doctor fires a burst at the selected unit and causes 1D6 hits on enemy models, those models that are hit have their weapons malfunction and cannot fire for a turn as they scramble to fix their weaponry, the unit also takes a spinning test with no modifiers.
6. Weapon destroyed - select any unit in the squad, his/hers weapon has been overloaded by the screwdriver and either disables, explodes completely or fails for the rest of the game, any devices and weapons can be selected by the player from the characters or model load out and may not be used for the rest of the game.
Against vehicles:
1. No effect
2-3. The vehicle systems become scrambled or lock up as the screwdriver mangles with its machinery, vehicle counts as shaken and crew stunned for that turn (even if the vehicle has equipment to stop shaken/stunned).
4. Systems dead - the vehicle can no longer move for the rest of the game.
5. Weapon disabled - select any weapon on the vehicle, this weapon can no longer be used for the rest of the game.
6. Vehicle disabled - roll as you would when penetrating a vehicle using the strength value of the screwdriver, if successfully penetrated the vehicle itself stops dead as all its systems are turned off and cannot respond. The vehicle counts as destroyed but does not count towards kill points as technically the crew are still alive. If the vehicle is only glanced then treat the hit as if you rolled a weapon destroyed.
Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey - If the Doctor is slain roll a D6, on a 3 or more the Doctor mysteriously reappears back next to the objective he was originally placed at with all his wounds and stats replenished, this can only be used once per game.
Fury of a Time Lord - select a model or character in the enemy army, this model must roll a leadership check or takes a -1 penalty against all his stats.
Hard to hit - Due to the Doctors hard to hit nature, enemy units wishing to hit the Doctor must do so as if they were playing night fight and are also required to roll a leadership test, if failed the unit cannot focus on the Doctor has he jumps and dodges past the enemy fire or delays them with a speech - units that fail their check cannot shoot for the rest of that turn as they are bewildered by the Doctors rambling or cannot focus their aim. The Doctor also grants a 4+ ward save from his weapon dodging capability.
All I need now is to make some actual stats for him.
[editline]25th November 2011[/editline]
oh yeah its up for CnC I'm trying to make the rules fair but still making the Doctor a tough character.

8 times out of ten, the Eldar beat the Imperium. It might not be on the battlefield, but the Eldar walk away with more than they entered.
And even on the battlefield, Eldar Aspect Warriors outclass all rank and file troops the Imperium field, including Space Marines.

More like 10 out of 10. The Eldar never enter a fight if they can help it and fights they do enter they have prepared for years in advance. Even when they do lose they likely know they're going to lose and probably have some ulterior motive.

You know how every race/faction in 40k can win if it wasn`t for that one little thing.
So, a Supreme Commander ACU lands in a Warhammer 40k world. For the sake of this exercise, it is completely automated, so there is no way the driver can be instakilled/killed over time.
Assuming that ACU allows the use of all Supreme Commander technology for the entirety of humanity, how much of the galaxy it would be able to take over?
Depends entirely on its placement.

All of it, given a week of preptime and an empty planet.

"Yeah, we lost, but eh, it was a part of the plan, you know. We'd beat you if we wanted to win!"
