Whats the point limit?
600 points.
Rather an odd limit of points in a tourney, since they usually go from 500 in multiples of 250.
Maybe a transport for the close range dudes, and assaults aren't very good but if you wanna use them go ahead. With a chaplain they should be decent. You should probably stick another antivehicle weapon, the multimelta isn't reliable without a transport and the lascannon can always die.
I am not expecting to see a tank or anything of the sort at all really in a game this small. If all goes to hell maybe I will just charge Marines at the tank until they start rolling sixes. I have no idea what the game type is going to be though.
I can't see how far wrong you can go with 31 re-roll attacks on a 12'' charge, but then again this is Warhammer, where by magic an entire unit can miss at point blank. So long as people don't field Terminators, I am expecting them to wrack up a massive killcount.

Its probably because the event only lasts a few hours and they want the games to be quick.
in a tourney a quick match is usually 750 or 500 points.

I'd say a bike army would be awesome if you could afford it, fit them with flamers and meltaguns
I cannot be trusted with money and warhammer products. Entered a games workshop to get paints, left with an eldar battleforce and glue.

You guys have no self-control when it comes to these things. :v:
Atleast you didn't buy a Titan :v:

Ive got 3 Bikes and an Assault Bike with Melta ready and painted. What are they good at exactly?
8 times out of ten, the Eldar beat the Imperium. It might not be on the battlefield, but the Eldar walk away with more than they entered.
And even on the battlefield, Eldar Aspect Warriors outclass all rank and file troops the Imperium field, including Space Marines.
Aspect troops do not outclass spacemarines. They might perform better in one single thing but as a whole marines are vastly better.
A banshee might be a tiny bit more nimble, a dreaper a bit more steady. But marines more or less outclass them in everything else that isn't the callsign of their aspect.
So, a Supreme Commander ACU lands in a Warhammer 40k world. For the sake of this exercise, it is completely automated, so there is no way the driver can be instakilled/killed over time.
Assuming that ACU allows the use of all Supreme Commander technology for the entirety of humanity, how much of the galaxy it would be able to take over?
Depends on one factors
a) how long can the ACU work undetected.
Supcom and TA armies have a tendency to grow exponentially. 1 ACU can create multiple multiple constructors, which in turn create more contructors etc etc. a Supcom army grows geometrically. You leave them undetected for long enough and they will outproduce you no matter what. And will get enough energy reserves to make an ACU teleport to a new planet.
To put it simply. If the ACU gets a foothold whoever you are, you will almost always loose even if they leave. Since supcom armies don't need supply lines and reinforce on the field. Much like tyranids, they're just better at it.
Hey, thanks for the responses guys! I'll do some experimenting over the weekend.
Jesus fucking christ the wave serpent bottom turret is annoying as fuck. For some reason Games Workshop made it snap in, except you have to bend the plastic without using leverage and plastic bends as well as fucking a boner. So you have to shove it between two pieces and get the hole in the two opposite sides.

What is the main specialty of the dark eldar? What keeps them distinct from the eldar (other than their love of rape and hedonism)?

They are more hit&run than the eldars

Their pirate ships.
Heck yeah, I won the tournament I went to today with that army I posted above.
First match I was against AOBR Orks + painboy and we came to a draw, he killed 7 of my Marines and I killed 6 of his Orks, but none of us had wiped out a squad/character. The guy was really nice to chat to and we shook hands at the end.
In the second (and final, because we only had 2-3 hours and limited tables) I was playing against AOBR Space Marines with Razorback added. I immobilized the Razorback and his men disembarked, then my assault marines [del]charged[/del] nope, he decided that he would resume his turn a minute after he declared it finished and charge his marines first. Didn't bother me, because I slaughtered them down to the Captain anyway.
I blew apart his other combat squad with mass bolter fire to one man, but they didn't retreat. My opponent also decided that I couldn't shoot his Captain with my last tactical because he was "in close combat". He then also moved his immobilized Razorback, and proceeded to spew out bullshit about the result being for one turn. I let him drone on in front of everyone, as we had a 30 minute time limit and I didn't have time to argue. Finally my Chaplain beat the Captain over the head (on his fourth wound, because my plasma gun wound earlier in the game never happened apparently) with his Crozius and killed him, but took a rocket to the face from the last combat squad man. The Dread charged my Tactical who were on a building (no idea if that breaks the rules, honestly) and managed to kill a few, but not enough to rout. I managed to kill his last combat squad man though.
By the end I had killed his Captain, his combat squad and his tactical squad, so I got 3 points. He killed my Chaplain and Assault marines, so he got 2. I had the best overall score in the (final) tournament round, so I won the whole thing. It was kind of shocking really because on the way in I was like "I have no chance at all here" because there were 3 Blood Angels players, a Necron army with 10 warriors, Lord and Monolith, and Imperial guard with a Leman Russ from what I remember. I even watched a Grey Knight army get slaughtered by Daemons during the second game. The guy lost his Dread in the first turn to fire from flamers of Tzeentch and then his men were swamped with Blood Letters.
Now I need to start planning 1000+ point armies for my next battles.
edit:
Heres the building I managed to garrison in the second turn with both my Tactical Squads in the second game:

Congratulations.
However, your opponent in the final match sounds like a complete retard, moving an immobilized Razorback and saying his Captain was in close combat sounds like major bullshit.
Why wasn't he disqualified?

Still, success is measured in blood, yours or your enemy.
Onward to larger battles, in his name and glory.

Dark Eldar are less specialised than Eldar, but are more hit and run oriented. Fastest vehicles in the game, but the weakest to compensate. Their units also get tougher for every enemy unit they destroy.
I just read the Horus Heresy books are non-canon. Anyone know if it's true?
Why would they be non-canon that'd be a monumental blunder on GWs part if they said that.
I just read the Horus Heresy books are non-canon. Anyone know if it's true?
Nope, they're very much canon. Who said they weren't?

I just read on Warseer that GW said HH books are non-canon (Something about all BB books being non-canon but i don't know what that means)

technically BL is a separate company, they have to rent shelf space in GW stores. They say all BL books are non-canon because writers pretty much make up anything they want with their own personal fantasy's when it comes to 40k.

Why not just draw a big version of her face on the Land Raider?
I must admit, though, that's some fine painting.
One more thing, why is it a Space Marine Land Raider?

It said BB, not BL. I'm assuming that was a mistake though.
So all the books are completely non-canon? Does that mean the majority of the things i thought existed in W40K, don't exist? Or is it an exist until officially changed by GW like with Valve games?

Essentially it's canon unless it conflicts with something in the rule books/codecii in which case the Codex/Rulebook should be considered canon.

So it's more like everything that happens is both canon and non-canon? Canon as in it happens or exists, but non-canon in the sense that it might not be how it really is?
Even if it conflicts it could be considered canon, as the events or whatever it is could be misinterpreted or seen different depending on the source, such as with Rogal Dorn's Body.
