Can anyone recommend me some decent Warhammer books? I started reading Gaunts Ghost and I own like a good bunch of them. But I am getting tired of the Imperial Guards. Maybe somthing about the Space Marines would be neat.
I liked the Ultramarines series since it was as if Graham McNeill saw what people thought of them and figured he'd try and make them a decent Chapter again.
The Horus Heresy books are always a nice read, just make sure to start at the beginning

Space Wolf series, Ciaphas Cain series. Both are great. Space Wolf was the first W40k book i read.
I've been wondering, if something appears in one codex, but then does not appear in the latest one, does that mean it has been retconned? For example i read that the new Necron Codex does not state the Eldar and Orks are created by the Old Ones (Not sure if true though)

For Warhammer 40k? Eisenhorn.
For Warhammer? The Vampire Genevieve, Blackhearts.

That much is definitely true, the Necrons fought the Eldar and the Old Ones at the beginning of time (more or less). The Kork were still made by the Old Ones.

Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett, guy who wrote Gaunt's Ghosts. An amazing read and really shows what life is like on Imperial worlds.

So Eldar are no longer creations of the Old Ones? Why would they do that?
hopefully today I can start building the hive onto my dreadie, continue painting my cultist-chan onto my totallynotBigE'schildren-landraider and also start building speakers onto that thing.
So Eldar are no longer creations of the Old Ones? Why would they do that?
Uh, no? Unless old fluff has been retconned out, which doesn't appear to be the case, the unmodified parts of old fluff are still canon. IIRC in the 'dex it's mentioned the Eldar were allies of the Old Ones but that means nothing.

A Greek newspaper posted an article about Warhammer 40K, in which they slander the people playing as racist, xenophobic, sexists. There is a shitstorm brewing in the 40k community.
Wow, what a bitch.
I think it's insulting to call them toy soldiers, you don't paint, assemble and put a lot of effort into toy soldiers, do you?

Yeah, Dan Abnett is a great writer. But Gaunts Ghost starts to annoy because his regiment is always treatened like shit. They deserve more honor. Well anyway such is life in the imperial guard.

Depends what they're defining as toy soldiers, I mean there's stuff like this

that someone's evidently put a lot of time and effort into keeping and maintaining.

I occasionally call them toy soldiers.
Derogatory connotations aside, that's what they are.
Anybody knows if that /tg/ Chapter Master game project is still alive?
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Slaugth By the Emperor, how terri- I mean, heretical!
The diction in that article is awful. Send in the Ordo Wordius.

The Ordo Wordius would never be able to correct such awful literature.
Call in the Ordo Correcticus.

wouldn't be interesting if they got to do easy stuff and treated nicely and got all the nice situtations
in the grim future....

I reckon he has a dart board with all the characters names on and when he's writing his book he gets a handful of darts casually throws them and the ones that are hit in the middle of the paper die the ones that are on the edge they get injured.
Can anyone recommend a good carrying case for my miniatures? I really dont know anything about them
For reference of what I need size wise is:
1 Defiler
1 Land Raider
2 Rhinos
1 Daemon Prince
2 Obliterators
46 Troop sized Miniatures
Room to expand for terminator and troop sized units I guess. Some space for another transport or armor would be good I guess.
Go to your hardware store, buy a tool box. Buy some foam. Cut out spaces for your d00ds to sit inside.
Dirt cheap.

Well they are toy soldiers, but i just think it's an insulting name, i guess.
Calling them miniatures or models is more appropriate.
i think it's funnier how she tries to connect 40k and fascism
cause i don't know about you but when i look at the imperium of man i totally think "I WISH I WAS JUST LIKE THEM"
If anything, the whole universe is a pretty much statement on just how much fascism sucks :v:

For most of the GW range, calling them multi part models is more accurate.
So Eldar are no longer creations of the Old Ones? Why would they do that?
I never said that. The Old Ones have always been the creators of the Eldar and the Kork.
Anyone have any suggestions on getting turrets that swivel and on things such as the Baneblade or the Eldar Wave Serpent to stay on? It says not to glue them but things like my Baneblade turret will fall off if I turn it the wrong way and pull up on it.

Is it me, or does that sound like the name of a Mighty Boosh song?

I know that Lexicanum is unofficial, but damn, you might as well add "And nothing of value was lost" right there.

Apart from the cost in lives and money of planets and populaces being destroyed and the blackstones being the ultimate fuck you weapon to have been made.
