You really should colour the blue thicker, it looks like you just put on one layer of blue (and a watered down blue too) and then abandoned it. It looks really washed out, and not in a good way. You should also think about trying to add some wash to the model itself, the colours should blend more into eachother, not stand out like they do now.
I like the idea however, nice job!
Speaking of Ahriman, I finally ordered his model a few days ago. Cant wait till it gets here.
Ahriman is awesome, especially his model. Thousand Bros

i'd answer this with another photo of the rihno but I went through hell to get that one I've presented you so I'll just say it.
I know.
it's exacly as you said: few thin layers of shitty blue paint, which is thicker under the poster. Everything else on that rihno is still black primer with details dipped in a paint bucket, as I bought it from it's previous owner.
I was just bored and wanted to do that poster thing.
The one on the right looks the best, but you should keep the 'horns' on the staff as 'ragged bone' color.
Maybe. But it is called the Black staff of Ahriman.
Any cannon images of it? That are well, colored.

This is all you get, thanks to GW's penchant for black and white pictures in codices.
Which you of course already know.
Stick with a light bone or white, IMHO. Goes better with the blue/gold and the Egyptian theme.
Maybe. But it is called the Black staff of Ahriman.

Sadly, no.
But in my opinion, it'd just look better if the horns of the staff were of the color in the picture Etcetera posted.
If anyone gives a fuck, i just played through Dawn of War (1). The 2nd last mission was hard as shit, but the last war pretty easy, actually.

you can mod a banner on your carniflex that has a a genestealer on it and it reads "Jeans" which sounds alot like "change", if you're Sean connery... And drunk.
Eldar specialize in.. well.. specializing. Howling Banshees, for example, wear somewhat decent armor, but are expensive in point value and lack any decent ranged weapons. However, they are meant to destroy heavily armored units in melee, such as Terminators or Space Marines, whereas units like Striking Scorpions, another melee unit, wear heavier armor and are more durable, but have weaker melee weapons and are meant to take on large groups of unarmored units. In either case, both units have their specific roles, and were Howling Banshees to pursue, say, a Tyranid gaunt swarm, they would find their light armor lacking, and their powerful weapons put to waste against foes that are able to be killed equally as well by weaker weapons. You also have Fire Dragons for close ranged anti-vehicle, Dark Reapers for covering fire, Swooping Hawks for mobility and close combat, Warp Spiders for stealth and hit and run attacks, Shining Spears for their speed on their jetbikes, and Dire Avengers and Guardians for general skirmishes.
Eldar are quite a difficult race to start out with, but, with enough research, you can pretty much take down larger forces through superior tactics. However, Eldar are also very vulnerable and fragile, and, if you're not careful, you could find your squads forced into roles in which they are incapable of fulfilling.

What is your playing style, then?
This doesn't really sound like any playing style i've ever used, any suggestions for alternate races?
I'll give you a rundown of the factions:
Space Marines (Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Ultramarines ect..): Generalists, their units are skilled at almost every type of situation available, but suffer from low numbers and precise specialization.
Space Wolves Space Marines only with more melee, can buy cheaper marines in large numbers, and more expensive marines with bolters and chainswords. More of a power armored horde of chainswords, also look like vikings.
Grey Knights Super elite daemon hunters, every unit is a psyker and a power weapon. However, they are not as effective against non-daemon armies, but they are none-the-less extremely powerful. Suffers from even lower model count than Space Marines, and lack a large selection of troop types or armor choices. Anti-vehicle weapons are also somewhat absent.
Chaos Marines: Same thing as Space Marines, but with more supernatural powers, a higher focus on melee, mutations and different sects. However, their weapons are often slightly less advanced than their loyalist counterparts, and their mechanized arsenal is not as varied or advanced.
Imperial Guard Weak Infantry in large swarms supported with heavy armor. Most similar to modern day military in terms of appearance. Can have powerful super-tanks, mutants, and are primarily ranged focused. In melee, their primary infantry, Guardsmen die fairly quickly. They can also take on a wide range of different armies, like the Death Korps, Vostroyans, Catachans ect..
Dark Eldar Weak, fragile, but extremely fast, angry and damaging. They use a lot of light skimmers and close ranged guns and melee weapons. Risky, like their Eldar cousins, but also incredibly powerful if commanded correctly.
Tau Utilize lots and lots of amassed firepower, carry some of the most powerful ranged weapons in the game, such as railguns. Fairly decent infantry, but cannot hold their own in melee without the support of their Kroot allies. Like the Imperial Guard, they are a very "Hold the Line" style faction. Also can get plenty of awesome mech-suits as elites, as well as a wide range of mercenaries.
Orks: Large amounts of melee units and shooting units, mixed with crude armor. Unpredictable, but also can tear a lot up in close quarters.
Tyranids Hard to really classify, typically a swarm race of melee units like the Orks. Take on a more traditional mindless alien type theme, and also carries some powerful brute enemies like the Carnifex.

Grey Knights can use the same AV tactic as Space Marines as in dual autocannon dread, so they don't really lack in AV, the troop choices are quite varied, but they're limited to henchmen and minions and stormtroopers, nevertheless, said minions and henchmen are quite effective, though, if used/specialized correctly.
Grey Knights can be quite effective against non-daemon armies, but that's only if you have razorbacks with psybolts/purifiers/lots of psycannons and such.
Though, you didn't add the Black Templars, aren't they typically better than Space Wolves when it comes to melee, seeing as they have Sword Brothers?
Dont Flesh Tearers get a special rule set?

So with some of my extra bitz I made a "Drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword!" marine on the top hatch of my land raider.

As always, when I'm done. Could take awhile, I have finals this week.
I've been looking for a great Thought of the Day that I can't find anywhere. It was something like
"_____ is the mercy of the wise."
Anyone know what it is?
Closest thing I've found is "Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise."
Closest thing I've found is "Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise."
Another testament to the badassity of Warhammer 40k.
Closest thing I've found is "Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise."
Thanks! I think there might have been a "Swiftness is the mercy of the wise" variant, but that one's far more awesome.

GEneral rule with orkz is "if that unit works, get one more of it. And one more of however many you have, and just one more just in case"
/tg/ occationally has long orkz taktikaz threads
Another general rule with orkz is that orkz never lose for they are the only race that has allready won in wh40k universe.
So guys, just a thought I had.
Let's say an Ultramarine and a Blood Raven (both physically more or less identical) would run a 100m race. They would probably both finish at more or less the same time, right?
But if, for some reason, an Ork watches, who believes that "tha red wunz go fasta!"(or something), would his psychic influence make the Blood Raven faster?

Just don't let the blood ravens know it was the ork, or they will build a new acquisitions wing to their burgeoning relic repository. Full of orkz, for strapping to tanks.
