I have the same demon on my rihno [editline]6th December 2011[/editline] GEneral rule with orkz is "if that unit works, get one more of it. And one more of however many you have, and just one more just in case" /tg/ occationally has long orkz taktikaz threads Another general rule with orkz is that orkz never lose for they are the only race that has allready won in wh40k universe.
Another rule of orks is that they're currently rather poor against tanks.
that too. Anyway I need ideas painting my raptors. Any pictures of chaos models and any suggestions will be appreciated.
Another rule of orks is that they're currently rather poor against tanks.
Fast ramming warbuggies are the best anti-tank weapon the orkz have, after a few incedents it's why I often dismount my melta-vets on the first turn...
So guys, just a thought I had. Let's say an Ultramarine and a Blood Raven (both physically more or less identical) would run a 100m race. They would probably both finish at more or less the same time, right? But if, for some reason, an Ork watches, who believes that "tha red wunz go fasta!"(or something), would his psychic influence make the Blood Raven faster?
One Ork wouldn't make any difference, you need a shitload of them for the psychic field to actually do anything
One Ork wouldn't make any difference, you need a shitload of them for the psychic field to actually do anything
Isn't their personal psychic ability just strong enough to make their guns work when basic physics dictates they shouldn't? (being as they are cobbled together with random scrap and Grot spit)
Isn't their personal psychic ability just strong enough to make their guns work when basic physics dictates they shouldn't? (being as they are cobbled together with random scrap and Grot spit)
Not necessarily. If we are to consider Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy correct on fluff (And considering that a lot of the civilian" fluff comes from them outright, I guess they are), Ork weapons usually are still functional without an ork's presence, they are just rather unreliable and poor.
it changes wildly with authors, novels and codexes, but my impression is that their guns generally have a semblance of working parts instead of being just an empty box. Those parts might not work in conjunction or the weapon might be spring-loaded or something, but the psychic field enables them to function. Of course, the only reason the Orks haven't consciously used their powers to their advantage because it makes no sense to them. If they see some grot trying to build a killa kan without Mek supervision they'll assume it won't work, because Meks make the good shit. Thus, it won't work.
Well, ork thingies are generally functional at the core, but they need the psychic buff to be as potent as they are.
Well, ork thingies are generally functional at the core, but they need the psychic buff to be as potent as they are.
And you explained why I tried to convey in once sentence when I needed several. Basically that, yeah. If you managed to get your hands on a functional shoota with no Orks around I doubt it'd be more effective than an autogun.
If an Ork thinks a tree falls in the forest and there's noone around to hear it, does it make a sound?
And you explained why I tried to convey in once sentence when I needed several. Basically that, yeah. If you managed to get your hands on a functional shoota with no Orks around I doubt it'd be more effective than an autogun.
It would probably blow up.
It would probably blow up.
I said functional
I like Amberly's description of how ork Meks differ from Techpriests "Techpriest placate the machine spirit, Ork Meks terrorise the machine spirit into acquiescence."
Another rule of orks is that they're currently rather poor against tanks.
You'z obviouzly don't knowz wut yer talkin' about! You'z like no orkz I've seen! Worse yet, I've neve' 'eard of an ork az wimpy as you!
I stayed up till three last night painting a sorcerer. It came out quite nice, made my own wash for the robe.
"Techpriest placate the machine spirit, Ork Meks terrorise the machine spirit into acquiescence."
Beating the little shit into submission actually sounds way more badass than worshipping it.
If an Ork thinks a tree falls in the forest and there's noone around to hear it, does it make a sound?
If that sounds breaks something, then yes.
I said functional
Uh, they'd still blow up a good deal of the time.
Uh, they'd still blow up a good deal of the time.
As they should. We's calls it testins, we does. Quitcher whinin' n' pick up dat arm wot ya dropped dere.
Orky physic powers have probably made Yarrick the badass he is, all the orks know him to be an unrelenting monster and so he becomes one. Weird boys tap into the waaaagh for their powers and not the warp, yes?
Weird boys tap into the waaaagh for their powers and not the warp, yes?
Same difference. The waaaagh is a psychic effect, so it's fuelled by the warp
If an Ork thinks a tree falls in the forest and there's noone around to hear it, does it make a sound?
That tree falls down and explodes. 10 Imperial citizens die from close proximity to the flying chunks of wood. 4 Guardsmen heroically die trying to stop the tree from falling. 2 more die after Commissar executes them for not trying to stop the falling tree. Sergeant gets a PTSD and is turned into a servitor after rehabilitation fails to get him back to normal. Two weeks before the tree's fall, Eldar Ranger who was hidden next to it, foresees this event and returns to his Craftworld. Dark Eldar prepare to raid the world where that tree once stood, but the tree crushes the hidden webway portal. Cabal leader of the week gets assassinated. Local 10-man chaos cult previously worshiping this tree as a sign from Dark Gods, die when the tree falls. Inquisition later find out about this, and exterminate 2 local towns that are in 50 miles proximity to the tree. They later blame Sister of Battle regiment that somehow ended up around that area during that part of the month. Tyranid arrive to the planet 5 months later, and are barely fended off by the Imperial Guard and Space Marines of Blood Raven chapter. Commissar is unable to find his cap afterwards. Necron Installations under the tree begin awakening the eternal machines, and are soon found by Adeptus Mechanicus who started dying a lot. Necrons soon find out that their Lord who was carrying all of their artifacts is missing. And so are Blood Ravens. Necrons go back to sleep after killing the rest of Tech Priests. Orks go on a WAAAGH! And win. Then they lose. Such is life in Warhammer 40k.
Necrons soon find out that their Lord who was carrying all of their artifacts is missing. And so are Blood Ravens.
Made my day.
The Tales of the Emperasque is absolutely amazing.
I solved a minor problem of my dreadnought having one of those name lable-seal thingies on it's foot. Since I'm playing renegade magpies, the leg was a gift.
Paint it so it looks like someone has just been quickly over it with a brush, and the original color is still showing in some places
Or use salt weathering if you have an airbrush availible, and have the original colour showing underneath.
