• Warhammer 40k: Megathread V1 - FOR THE EMPEROR

I'm playing GalCivII and I'm trying to create enough races from the warhammer 40.000 universe to have a 40kish game. I only wish I could create portraits and logos myself instead of downloading them, seeing as there's only Space Marines and Chaos stuff. Maybe it's not that hard, but I'm not good at Gimp or Photoshop or whatever. Ship designs that would be pretty damn tedious and hard so I'll probably ignore that.
Was just in the Starcraft thread as usual, then low and behold THIS appears: ALL OF MY RAGE
You can leave the appropriate rating here: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1094785?p=33658471&highlight=#post33658471
so far I've only made the Space Marines as the Ultramarines. I only have 3 or 4 insignias from Space Marine chapters and the only race portrait of Space Marines with a 'primarch' (not even that) is Papa Smurf. Should I change Rawbutt girlyman as leader for Papa Smurf? I wish I could change them to the Blood Magpies but as I mentioned I'd have to tweak the images myself, which I've no idea. Should I try to learn to do it myself? It mustn't be that hard after all.
That's Marneus Calgar, so yeah, you should change leader to that.
Game?
Game?
Galactic civilizations II. And I'll change their leader.
Where are these from? [editline]11th December 2011[/editline]
Galactic civilizations II. And I'll change their leader.
How's the game so far? Is it worth getting for $20?
How's the game so far? Is it worth getting for $20?
Absolutely! If you're into 4X games like civilization or Master of Orion (this one I haven't played) I absolutely recommend this one. There's a crapload of AI difficulties which makes the game pretty damn friendly. Then you've race customization like you've seen with the one I made. You can design your own ships with the parts you research on the extensive research tree, and if customizing their weapons, shieldings and whatnot isn't sweet enough, you can even customize their hulls to your aesthetical pleasing with no limit or effect in the gameplay. The only limit is the number of pieces you can use (which can be increased by simply downloading mods). I just mentioned another reason, mods. Those must be the biggies for me, there's also the variety of races, the large variety of game setup options and some more stuff. You can make ships which can perform an exterminatus on planets and render them unhabitable, you can ascend to godhood, you can win the hippie way, you can build death stars, there's really fun stuff. There's a really fun AAR which I would totally recommend to read if I could find it, give me some minutes and I'll try to find it. [editline]11th December 2011[/editline] oops, not that one, this one: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/195920/blog/galactic-civilizations-diary-days-1-26/?site=pcg
Has anyone ever played Kill Team? (The table-top gamemode, not the arcade game)

Are there any more pictures of it?

Pretty easy to get into and fun. Too bad the game's take a while to start-off. Going to buy it on Steam now. Holy crap, the dev's are the ones who made Sins of a Solar Empire. I used to have that game before my house got robbed. I hated it.

That's an instant buy for me.
They made Sins of a solar empire? That's an instant buy for me.
They're pretty much the same game. This one looks like it had a much tighter budget though. It has some new features though.
If you mean GalCivsII and Sins they're actually quite different games, in terms of gameplay especially
That is awesome. Are there any more pictures of it?
See how "THIS" is clickable, click on that.
What the fuck is this http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Genestealer_Patriarch#.TuVFdmPNm-U
90s era 40k, that's what it is.
4 arms would be great. play video games, eat, and masturbate at the same time
Guys I have a brilliant idea, what do you think about converting an IG army into Star Trek red shirts?
What the fuck is this http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Genestealer_Patriarch#.TuVFdmPNm-U
You somehow missed the Tyranid Genestealer cult troops choice transport. Limos.
Rollin' in style. Holla holla.
Holla holla.
get dolla
get dolla
Someone needs to make a Warhammer 40k version of this, like now.
You somehow missed the Tyranid Genestealer cult troops choice transport. Limos.
The one on the left looks like a hearse. Also, what's with the Khorne logos everywhere?
The one on the right looks like a hearse. Also, what's with the Khorne logos everywhere?
As long as the Imperials think it's all about Chaos, they are less afraid of sudden Hive Fleet appearance.
Was just in the Starcraft thread as usual, then low and behold THIS appears: ALL OF MY RAGE
Why are you raging? He's making a fair statement. I love 40k, I think it's a great setting, the tabletop is fun, it makes a few good novels, the games of it are great. But it's stupid. As said on the previous page, it's all based on 80s Rogue Trader. Sci-Fi to the max. AFAIK, 40k coined the term "Grimdark". Everyone knows that 40k would beat most other Sci Fi universes if it came down to a pitched battle. There're pictures of Emperor Class Titans standing next to Mechs from other universes and a message from some neckbeard beneath saying "40k, just give up now". I can respect that 40k has original ideas. But it's not the best thing since sliced bread, which everyone in this thread seems to think. I mean, when Matt Ward redeemed the Necrons from being Terminators, people raged. Because they weren't soulless killing automatons anymore. Does that not say something about the godawful fanbase that 40k has accumulated? [editline]12th December 2011[/editline]
What the fuck is this http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Genestealer_Patriarch#.TuVFdmPNm-U
That's the Genestealer Cult army, exclusive to Rogue Trader.
I can respect that 40k has original ideas
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Cult army
It isn't exclusive to anything, and patriarchs are still completely viable.
