Yes, but if they obscure more than about 50% of the model it gets a cover save.
So does this work with covering say, nid warriors from ranged fire using gaunts as 'cover'?
I just can't remember the rules and don't have the mega rulebook, so I'm curious on this

Yep, though with Nid Warriors, since they're infantry, as long as any part of the model is obscured, then they get a cover save if shot at. As long as the Majority of the squad is behind guants, the squad gets a cover save.
does anyone want to play any dawn of war 2/expansions co-op?
Do you have Ret?
Do you have Ret?
Yeah
Tzeentch Marines have DISGUSTING dps against heavy infantry, but have regular melee stats
Get Havocs, or better yet send in some Heretics to blow up in their face and suppress them
You will never ever get enough heretics in among them to be able to blow them up.
Against three squads of tzeentch marines you need at least 3 squads of heretics to have a chance of getting to them.
That's not even mentioning various snare abilities or AOE dps every single chaos hero has. People sometimes try to use Khorne marines againt them, but usually don't fare much better.
And anyways he was talking about ASsault termie counters.
As to the reason why Tzeenthcians are so deadly, it's pretty simple.
If you compare them to plasma marines tzeentchians technically have far less DPS per shot than the one plasma marine. The thing is that all of them get the plasma based weapon and as a result tend to be able to dosh out a far far better sustained DPS against all targets including heavy infantry and vehicles.
Yeah, I noticed that he said termies
I know Tzeentch Marines are super strong, but they still have regular melee damage
But that's why Chaos is just Tzeentch Marine/Bloodcrusher spam
Ret 50% off today

Anyone know if the new helmet from the sale is for multiplayer? I guess not..it'll probably be singleplayer/last stand, which is disapointing.
Playing Orks = i mak shoota
i would imagine the helmet is for singleplayer going by the blood raven's being in the name, which i'm disapointed with
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Outfit the Force Commander in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution with this unique helmet and inspire fear. A little hard to sip lemonade through. . .but worth it!
yup, force commander = single player
Hey guys Ork build
Play Kommando
Turtle until you have 2 Shoota squads with Big Shootas and Nobs
Enjoy having heavy weapons range/dps with no set up or tear down time, free suppression and a commander who has ranged aoe stun as a basic ability
Seriously you can't lose, played 10 customs against people who were all higher level than me and I was champion in them all
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Baffles me why they would include a Nob as a T1 upgrade for Shootas but w/e
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Oh and an aoe damage buff which stacks

If it were for campaign, they would remark Apollo Diomedes.
It's probably for multiplayer as they talk about a regular Force Commander.
I don't know how they would put in multiplayer though

Okay guys, I'm going to buy this:

Anything else I should get?
I don't know how they would put in multiplayer though
They managed to do it with the Dark Angels DLC pack.
Why would one helmet be hard to put in multiplayer?
How would they put the option to have it on/off?
How would they put the option to have it on/off?
Obviously you wouldn't use 3 tickets to get something you'd want to put off.

My friend got the Assault on Blackreach set and everything in it was unused within a month. The Blackreach stuff is very basic and uncustomizable and none of it is loaded out very well, and unless you expect to play both Orkz and Space Marines you'll have an entire box of orks/marines just laying around.
Personally I think a Battleforce box would be better since it comes with more bitz and the models aren't easy mode.
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
The only thing awesome in that set is that it comes with the templates and a pocket sized rulebook which is pretty useful since it doesn't have 300 pages of crap you don't need like the big hardcopy rulebook.
Yeah but I just plan on starting out by playing with a friend
If I get a Battleforce I'll have no one to play with
Yeah but I just plan on starting out by playing with a friend

Ah I see, well in that case it is the better choice. Fair warning though, if you really do get into Warhammer like me and my friends never thought we would, that set is going to be short lived.
Yeah but my friends are definitely not going to shell out money to get into 40k
And at least it'll last me longer than a regular $50/60 video game
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Painting wise anyway
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Also should I get a spray undercoat or does it not really make a difference?
get a can of krylon flat black primer from a hobby lobby or something

You pretty much need some sort of primer if you want your paint to look well and not chip off the plastic.
Personally me and my friends use Chaos Black primer because it's quicker and easier to paint on which lets us get our stuff on the table faster, but if you really want to get some detail and have your colors come out better get some Skull White primer.
Or save dosh and get the exact same thing but cheaper in Krylon primer
get a can of krylon flat black primer from a hobby lobby or something
Also this. There's a lot of different brands of primers and a lot of them are way cheaper than GW's, you just actually have to put some effort into fining them, especially if you don't have any local hobby shops.
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
ninja'd
Black Reach is a pretty decent starter set, especially if you have a friend to learn he game with. A decent 500 point army you can slowly increase and improve.
There is no quick way to do that battle is there? It took me and Fippe about 45 minutes as the Eldar. So boring.
Plenty of ways. You have to have the right gear.

Orks and Nids were by far the fastest, as both did bonus damage to structures and apparently [sp]Kyras[/sp] is a building. Bout 10-15 minutes for each on Ret's version of Primarch.
45 minutes? Damn. I just abused the Leman Russ drop up the gazoo as Guard.
I never thought that people actually use primers. I like doing it the hard way, with a brush!
Sir, you're a dumbass. Primer helps the paint stick on the model.
Since when were using a brush and using primer mutually exclusive?
