Just bought the first Ciaphas cain omnibus, i'd like to know how it is.
So has the Imperium ever made a formal alliance with a Xeno race? I don't mean the temporary alliances during battles, like with the Eldar on Tallarn, I mean a formal deceleration of peace and cooperation. Or is that too heretical?

There were small alien civilizations living inside the Imperium during the Crusade. Dunno about it now, but I think there still might be some. Sanctioned xenos etc.

An interesting take on life in the Imperium.
Also rather funny.

a peace treaty is possible. But more in the vein of - you stay behind these borders and we'll stay behind these. Cooperation definitely not. From nonplanetery imperial authorities though. In system or even in sector stuff does happen, although that usually leads to a purgation from the inquisition.
Some imperial groups do have some informal longterm cooperation alliances though. Like the illuminati with the harlequin.

I miss Tentacle Pink.

Well there's the Jokaero but everybody hates them and wishes they were gone from what I gather.
Also I'd imagine a good chunk of the Imperial leaders of various colonized systems prefer not to start shit with other species, but they use the excuse of "We were too busy doing X" so they don't get assassinated.

Little late for our opinion if you already bought it.

Everyone loves their digital weapons and they're relatively harmless, I don't see why they'd be hated

I mean the fans. Though that might just be /tg/ flipping their shit.
/tg/ flips their shit about everything, they're worse than transformer g1 fans, if that was actually possible.
I haven't seen anyone hating Jokaero, this must be the new fad I guess

they were referenced and included as a model in a book written by Mr Ward.
=/= logic.
I guess people seem to ignore the fact that they've been in the fluff for a way longer time, and that they're actually really fun units to field

They've been around a long time, loads of the stuff in 40k has been around since Rogue Trader. My understanding is that Jokaero play like Obliterators in that they have a number of weapons they can forge and fire per turn? But they're more numerous than Obliterators?

Pretty much. They can also extend the range of weapons in a squad and give other buffs. I think you need to add +1 to your every "weapon creation" dice roll for every Jokaero in your squad, so you can't really run an effective monkey-man list.

That sounds beautiful. I hope Chaos get something similar in their upcoming update. Even if it means I have to add Dark Mechanicus to my Plague Marine army. Purely in the squad buff sense that is, Obliterators already make enough AT for me.
Here's an article on the monkey army

Haven't read the GK codex myself but the 5 jokaero + chimera list posted in the comments seems viable

Captain simian and the spcae monkeys.
So I've got something like 10k points worth of tyranids I don't really want anymore. Anyone interested in purchasing them? They are assembled, but unpainted and come with cases.

You'll have more luck on ebay

I might want them, depending on price.
I feel like I'm hoarding all of the Tyranids, I already have several thousand dollars worth of them :v:
It's making me poor

Nope, if you were human, or a human offshoot (ratling, Ogryn) You were given two choices, Join or Die, if you were Xenos, you were given the choice of either Die or Die.

They used to have Tentacle pink (commonly reffered to as testicle pink) Vallejo do have pink afaik.

If i wouldn't want to hear them i wouldn't have asked for them. Besides that i had to buy something it's really awkward to walk into a store and not buying anything.

Every time I walk into a game store, I feel obliged to at least buy something, even if its only a canister of paint or something.

Needs to have better voice actors, and bolters and whatnot shouldn't have recoil in space marine hands.
Other than that it looks a million times better than the ultramarines movie.
Im getting Snikrot and Kommando's for Christmas, what uses do you guys (if any) have for them? Im thinking that 5 Kommandos + Snikrot and Burna's would be a nice distraction. The biggest problem Ive discovered with Orks is that mobbing doesn't work as well as I thought. In the last game I played with Orks they took up a lot of space on a 2x2 board and they had done very little by turn 3 when we packed up. The Battlewagon is pretty useless as well, because the Killkannon is really naff with a BS of 2 and Strength 7, its screwed if AT targets its side armour (a lot of the time when in transport role) and its so big most of the time AT units can fire at it any turn they wish.
Fast attack doesn't look bad though, with (roughly) 50 point flamer warbuggies I can imagine a lot of damage going on in maybe, an Imperial Guard or another Ork army. Worst problem is that the most effective anti tank weapon is Ghazkull Thraka and/or a Mek with Shokk Attak Gun, so if either messes up you'll suffer yet another turn of vehicle fire.
