I heard Space Marine is pretty much dead, is it true? Or is it still worth buying?
It's a great game, but the online is a little empty compared to some other games. It's up to you. If you do get it, beware, the DLC is very expensive.
It's still possible to find matches online. Overall, I'd say it's worth it
It's a great game, but the online is a little empty compared to some other games. It's up to you. If you do get it, beware, the DLC is very expensive.
Especially the ones that should have just been free to begin with.
Yes Last stand. Didn't seem so, when he died 10 times. If you read, and i was playing as space marine, Don't think it was a good idea to camp in khorne map, and get slaughter by them. I'd like to at least play with random, without having to ask people on steam to join, that the whole point with MP, But at the same, we will get those kind of people.
Yeah, you usually cannot camp as SM unless you have plasma cannon or orbital bombardment (or both). There's always dicks in MP games, and RTS co-op games have the most of those, and they usually have the biggest impact.

And yet, he still wanted me to be at that same spot, where he died so many times. I try being a good team mate, but honestly, people like that, just make me want to stop playing. Especially when they reply with "umad" response, like a typical 12 year old, or acting like one, at least.

Alright facepunch, I need some ideas for my IG army. Right now I'm rolling with a russ, a heavy weapon platoon of autocannons, a guardsman platoon, and a melta vet/chimera. I'm thinking about getting a hellhound, but my budget can fit a bit more. Opinions on what would work best? I'm also tempted to just get a DKoK squad because the look really fun to paint but I'm trying to be practical.
I'm also tempted to just get a DKoK squad because the look really fun to paint but I'm trying to be practical.
Practicality, 40k. I laughed.
Practicality, 40k. I laughed.
When your most practical side is a horde of space locust... yeah, you even can't go there.
Hey I'm new here. Does anybody see anything wrong with Putting Rough Riders on Scout Bikes? I just thinking of doing it. It would be a much easier and cooler way of making rough riders
Hey I'm new here. Does anybody see anything wrong with Putting Rough Riders on Scout Bikes? I just thinking of doing it. I think a better question is WHY would you want rough riders, unless you're going for repeated outflank army.
Only the most bitchy people will complain about it, and you wouldn't want to play with those anyway
I know the ones you mean. Ones that have the most perfect armies and know all the codexes and Rules off by heart.
I think a better question is WHY would you want rough riders, unless you're going for repeated outflank army.
Because they can look awesome?
I know the ones you mean. Ones that have the most perfect armies and know all the codexes and Rules off by heart.
Nah, even those are usually nice. It's just the really anal rules lawyers who for some reason are on a crusade against conversions, and god help you if they realize you have a joke army
Nah, even those are usually nice. It's just the really anal rules lawyers who for some reason are on a crusade against conversions, and god help you if they realize you have a joke army
Proxies are best thing ever at times. At other times, they hold French Fries. A noble cause and use!
Practicality, 40k. I laughed.
Well, I meant with my money. I'm too impulsive when it comes to these things and I wanna make sure I buy what I need before getting things that just look cool.
So since Space Marine is on sale there are loads of newbies in Exterminatus trying to get the achievement for completing etc etc so I end up in a game with two level 1's and a level 2. the level 1's going devastator and 2 going tactical with a bolter (not much choice there but hey) so I went assault We got to level 19 before they gave up. The Emperor was proud of his new sons that day...

Been meaning to get Space Marine for a while. However, it happens to go on sale the one day I have no money. FUCK.
Just hold it up for ~5 minutes and it should stand on its own If not, use something to keep it in place
The Tau Crisis Suits are considerably more top heavy with tiny legs and I barely had to hold mine for a minute before it stood on it's own.
deadly candy
LSD :v: Guys, I'm currently painting my first figure, it's a plague marine and I have a question should I use the Bolter Gun silver for the armor trim, or just dry brush black with white?

Though, if you're looking for a pure silver color, then go for boltgun silver.
Depends on what you're after/what paint you're using. Though, if you're looking for a pure silver color, then go for boltgun silver.
Well I just think that silver paint doesn't leave much place for all the shadowing. And it doesn't actually go well with the rest. By the way, any advice what colour should i make the eye? Some sort of a dark olive green?
that iceland dude suggested I posted here my best day at wargaming yet It all started off with me arranging a playdate with my friend. We have played wh40k before but that was at my place where terrain was books, unpainted styrofoam WIP oil depots WIP fortifications and orkz outnumbered 3 to 1 in points scale. I said "wh40k is MUCH MUCH better when you play with proppa terrain" and so he ageed. We picked our store where we gamed to be Ludo in tallinn downtown, despite neither of us never hearing you can wargame there, but one of guys who've I've played against before suggested it so we gave it a try. As my friend was sitting around his home with a thumb up is ass, I parked my car and went to ask at Ludo. I was waved off so I descided to try Weplay backrooms. I went to the store, asked the gatekeeper for the room key "yeah, what you gon do there, boy?" "play warhammah" "yeah, well Sven is allready there" at this moment I felt that that name was incredebly familiar, I think he was the guy who made my noise marines, but because I was unsure I asked "the fucks he" "Are you serious? You wargame and YOU. DON'T. KNOW.WHO.HE.IS!?" "yeah, no" after that I kind of made a dash for the backrooms to escape from his stare. As I entered the weplay backrooms I was greeted with the distinctive smell of "nerd", sound of cards being slapped onto tables and few muffled responces to my greeting. I landed my stuff on a chair and before stripping myself of my greatcoat I let my eyes run over a pair playing wh40k on woodland urban setting. After noting pink-ish defiler some rihnos unpainted land speeder and some termies with missile pods I realised it was kay-os vs muhreens and I looked at the players. One was a 15 year old blonde boy and other was around 20 years old well built baldie with schemach and military stance. I remembered that "sven" dude was in active service, so I yelled "hello, you the infamous Sven rite?" "yeah" "Thanks for those wonderful noise marines" "ugh?" "I was gifted them by the dude you gifted them to" After reciving a stare like I was a bloody magpie, I went back to retroffiting magic arena into wh40k arena and punching up the armylists, which were as follows: Kayos: >Terminator lord with dual lighting claws(well permanently so after I accidently used a glue that MELTS shit together) >backed up by 5 terminators, 2 having lighting claws, one having hflamer and chainfist and one rolling with thunderhamma and combibolter >10 muhreens, one missile launcher one flamer and one aspiring champ(AOBR conversions) >my raptors whom earned the nickname "skittles" during this game due to their distinctive paintjobs >my veteran dreadnought, lascannon and arm with bolter (he had not died in a single battle at that point) >and my lord of change obama postered rihno I was facing >AOBR ork battleforce >nobz got powaklaws >looted rihno with combiflamer So my friend arrived, we set up terrain, which was tight areas between hills, buildings and ponds, separated by midline that had a tower in up-mid and crashed aircraft in low-mid. Those two were capture points. We were playing till turn 7 or annhaliation. Killpoints counted as well. As battle started I lost rockpaperscissors so he started. He started by separating his forces by sedning 5 orkz and 5 nobz to tower and all rest 9 or so boyz and warboss and rihno at the plane. Luckily I managed to perfectly deepstrike my termicide before the plane cap point, and made them flank the force to tie them down. Enemy managed to kill one termie with a lucky havoc launcher shot, but that was all. Back at the base the very first thing that had happened, was that my dreadnought, after waking from it's slumber, casually turned 90 degrees, instagibbed a skittles, and went back to sleep. After that slight... setback I rushed my skittles towards orkz tower defense force to slow them down a bit while my dreadie got his shit together and while my marines went for the plane point. Meanwhile to avoid casualties I moved my termies into assault with the orkz main force( I was prolly thinking that getting termies kileld fast beats them suffering or something) where they fared surprisingly well, killing 6 orkz on their first assault turn. Meanwhile things weren't going well on the tower front with skittles landing in midst of orkz, getting drunk, stumbling over 2 orkz, wounding them and then getting the chop and tear treatment by the remaining orkz, while deffcoptas flanked my rihno and knocked it up, but only after they all had recived one wound from havoc strikes. My dread flipped his shit and rushed the choppers, tearing them out of the air with his fucking claw like it ain't a no thang, while my terminators renamed termicide into termie-oh-god-i-bought-a-rape-train-and-it-didn't-come-with-brakes by slapping shit and killing 4 more orkz and gaining no wounds and my marines firing random missile shots at the orkz at tower. Just as my dreadie finished the last of coptas and started plinking at the lone ork ontop of the tower, things took a turn for the worse near the warplane, as my terminators suddenly took in 3 wounds, 2 of which I allocated to my warlord and removed the now-useless flamer guy, meanwhile my strikes only managed to kill one of 6 or so remaining orkz. Few assaults later and it was my warlord with one assault terminator against warboss with 2 wounds and 2 orkz. I was hoping my warlord rolled in all 4 attacks but he managed to land only one. THen I knew it was over. But by a stroke of luck the warboss rolled only one hit in and killed my last sponge terminator. This was it. Warlord versus warboss, both with one wound and armor-ignore weapons, I tought to myself as I picked up 4 die and as "eye of the tiger" started playing. I rolled in and all the 4 hits were turned into wounds. My advesary went quickly from "i got this bagged" into "OHSHITOHFUCKGOTTAGOFAST" mode with his rihno, trying to b-back that ass up far away from my warboss who had just lost his shit completely and gone into berzerk. Only after reciving "crew shaken" from my krak missileman from acrashed plane cappoint, as far away from my "captain rapetrain" warboss and behind a hill, well hidden from my dreadnought he allowed himself a breather and a rise in confidence (which he proudly demonstrated by taunting me and offering a brofist for being a good loser). "It's turn seven and gameover for you man. Checkmate. C'mon let's shake it and call it a day" "NOPE" I responded as I moved my dreadnought on the said hill and lighting up at the rihnos direction. It was a hit at rear armor, but I sadly rolled "1" which didn't penetrate shit. But it was worth that, because he had this million-dollar look on his face as he saw my dreadnought ascend. "IT'S OOVER IT'S OOOOVER" he started dancing. "NOPE" I responded wittily, moving my marine squad out of cap point warplane into range of cap point tower and pointing all their 7 of their bolter barrels at the lone ork who he had forgotten on top of the tower. That look returned to his face as he realized that if I get even a bit lucky here he loses his cap point and game ends in a tie. I didn't get lucky. So I lost the game, but so what, it was fucking glorious! But what followed covered my loss by a huge margin: The sven guy came over to examine my armies, after I commented that his demon prince had the same paintscheme as my landraider "you have a landraider" "and around 1000pts of more kayos" "Why the fuck I don't know who the hell you are then!?" "I just started playing" "sick man" As he examined he liked how my muhreens were painted, got amazed over how well i've converted aobr dreadnought into it's current nurgloid-typhoid state and nearly flipped his shit as he saw the "lord of change obama lulz" poster on my rihno. He then took my phone number and promised to make me an account on the estoniaan wargaming forum, where he is a mod at. So yeah TL;DR: termicide into termiewin, my dreadnought didn't die and I lost a game while gaining lots of respect from the most important figure in estonian wargaming culture.
I finished gluing together the second Assault marine. But I'm afraid to paint, lest it might come out as horrible as the last one. Any basic tutorials I can use (That doesn't involve equipment not supplied by the Hobby starter set)?
i just bought all the x-packs for DoW2 and the complete DLC bundle. did i do good?? i remember liking DoW2 vanilla a bit, didnt play much cause lack of basebuilding but i hear the x-packs improve the game like a lot, not necessarily basebuilding
