Cool, got all the retribution DLC as a gift yesterday, time to play last stand
So I just recieved £115 from all the money Ive been given this Christmas, how should I spend it? I really want to make an Imperial Guard army. Ive got a Platoon Command Squad, Valkrie, Leman Russ, 2 20 man Guardsmen Squads, 3 heavy support teams and a Chimera now. Ive heard Hardened Veterans with Meltas are really good dozens of times in this thread, so Im hoping I can convert a bunch of SM Meltas onto some Guardsmen. I like the idea of getting another Leman Russ but with Demolisher. After watching a Vindicator wipe out a Warboss and his entire nob retinue with a single shell Ive been won over by high strength artillery. Was just searching FW and I found this: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Guard/Cadian_Shock_Troops/CADIAN-HOSTILE-ENVIRONMENT-TROOPS-MELTA-SQUAD.html Thats actually cheap as hell at £12.50.
So I have nearly $1,000 in my checking account. I think my Mom said she'd get me a model for Christmas and I myself will probably get one or two. Tau Crisis Suit and Hammerhead, maybe something else. I haven't had a chance to work on my Hello Kitty Suit but I got the decals in on Christmas so maybe if I get home tonight at a reasonable time I can paint the weapons and accessories and than adding decals would be just around the corner.

If a proper 40k movie is ever made they need to essentially copy the whole Klendathu Drop scene from Starship Troopers Just replace bugs with Tyranids and a bigger slaughter
If a proper 40k movie is ever made they need to essentially copy the whole Klendathu Drop scene from Starship Troopers Just replace bugs with Tyranids and a bigger slaughter
I agree absolutely. Althought i can't recall tyranids having any planetary defence weapons...
Then just ignore that part and replace it with them all arriving on the planet without any problems, thinking they're all badass like that. Then they go fight them and get slaughtered.
I agree absolutely. Althought i can't recall tyranids having any planetary defence weapons...
Really big ass biovores?
I agree absolutely. Althought i can't recall tyranids having any planetary defence weapons...
Possibly tendrils?
I just went to a new store called the Hobby Lobby and got some new brushes, spray primer and masking tape. I want to add a little more detail to my Tau APC.
I agree absolutely. Althought i can't recall tyranids having any planetary defence weapons...
They don't. They simply will completely overwhelm all resistance. There's a funny thing about the Tyranids. If they win a planet, it doesn't matter their losses on it, for they devour and use all the biomass on it (including the dead Tyranids). They technically lose nothing when they win. What would be a better example is condensing all your money into a tiny thick little diamond.

The Guard land, kill some minor ripper swarms and a couple gaunts with massed lasgun and flamer fire, all cheering and shit. Then a couple carnifexes appear on the horizon and the ground is covered in gaunts as far as eye can see, shit hits the fan. Only shit like Necron weapons, burning stuff etc can really take a toll on them. Tyranids are bad at wars of attrition, if you lose a planet it's always better to use exterminatus on it when the Tyranids have the largest amount of biomass planetside so they can only lose.
Played against a competetive player who's been playing wh40k for more than a decade and who was practising for a tounrament. This is how it went(see filename for further description)

Just got a Nemesis Dreadknight for Chrismas. Time to start making my Grey Knight Army.

Chaos never interested me before but today I found out about Rubric Marines Chaos Necrons? Sign me in! [editline]26th December 2011[/editline] I'm pondering on getting a small Chaos army based purely around those lovely fellas and Tzeentch in general.

They are not chaos necrons, they are bags of sand commanded by sorcerers. They still have souls, released when the armor breaks.
Any new Chaos player who doesn't pick Black Legion (too vanilla) or Iron Warriors (no one does it right) is welcome in my books
Hi. They are not chaos necrons, they are bags of sand commanded by sorcerers. Rubric Marines are automaton armors made out of Space Marine traitors (I don't call them Chaos Marines because they haven't been physically corrupted by the warp) by Thousand Sons sorcerers. Sounds pretty similar to me. [editline]26th December 2011[/editline] That's all according to Lexicanum.

They are galaxy eaters, there really isn't anything that can possibly hold back the Tyranids except perhaps opening a massive gate to the warp and having the Daemons fight them.
Thousand sons are devoted to Tzeentch, thus are beyond normal traitors, such as those crazy bat marines. They were corrupted by the warp before the Rubric of Ahriman, it was his attempt at stopping mutations. Again, they still have souls.
I agree absolutely. Althought i can't recall tyranids having any planetary defence weapons...
They really wouldn't need any, since they'll just strip the planet clean and move on, though they probably do have some. I just doubt races try to reclaim their planets after tyranids infest them, it's kinda a lost cause by then.

That's like saying we are the same thing as a gorilla simply because we're both apes.

Once normal warriors turned into mindless reapers of war by wicked powers. I'm all hard for that. [editline]26th December 2011[/editline] Matt Ward...

It just needs to be bigger in scale and more grimdark overall. Adding more casualties on both sides, commisars and proper Imperial Doctrine (insanity + agression) in the minds of the combatants would make it very 40K.
Late, you should snip that shit quick.
