I really don't like how most people choose Space Marines.
A large pool of bits to make custom models from, very forgiving in battle, Easy to play as, etc.
A large pool of bits to make custom models from, very forgiving in battle, Easy to play as, etc.
It's not that. I like Space Marines. I just hate how they are the 'main' W40k army for everything and people choose them because they are Super Human. What's cooler, a Spare marine (which has been bred for war) taking down something such as a Daemon, or a basic human who only has his weapon? Hardly any of the other armies get any attention other than when they get new releases. One of the reason i went for Tau really, i liked how there wasn't really anything special about them other than their technology (and also the fact that unlike many of the other races they are actually progressing)

It's like saying you hate people who like Gandalf because when they think of wizards from LotR they never think of Radagast the Brown.

Terminator Captain Hazion here ready to fuck shit up.
Just drew a 1.5k points battle, Dark Eldar vs IG. I'm still not used to them and was expecting more armour. Instead my ravagers were being pot-shotted by lascannon teams in 4+ cover and Raiders were being one-shotted as soon as they landed.
I like Space Marines and I don't like that other people like Space Marines
I meant i don't like how they recieve pretty much all the attention. Fluff wise, i like them.

But I thought the Necrons had the top-godlike weapons
would tyranids be able to do anything with a necron tomb world if they so happened to land on one, ie land for biomass thats already there and necrons emerge? i'm not sure if nids actually use/consume metals or not
a friend bought me a game pack that contains Dawn of War II and the two expansions/extensions(?) what's the community's view on this particular chunk of the games? I haven't played an RTS since Total Annihilation and some old star wars game that everyone claims sucked ass, so I assume I'll be happy enough regardless :v:

Just bought the Eisenhorn trilogy. :D
Just bought the Eisenhorn trilogy. :D
You've not already read it?! Enjoy it, the Ravenor trilogy is optional, I'd recommend reading the 1st and forgetting the rest exist.

Come at me bro!
What's wrong with the Ravenor books?
I meant i don't like how they recieve pretty much all the attention. Fluff wise, i like them.
My point still stands
Anyone have the link to the 40k vassal?
I meant i don't like how they recieve pretty much all the attention. Fluff wise, i like them.
Not sure if you are aiming at the game or the world as a whole, though you're right about space marines receiving the majority of attention by the masses that don't know much of the 40k world. But I think that people who know a bit more about the world have their views on which race they find most enjoyable to be very scattered, and not near so centered on the space marines. But, in the end, you'll always have the people who ignore all the neat qualities of other races, and even the inner-sects of those races, in exchange for the race that is either the most popular, or looks the strongest at face value.
Just bought the Eisenhorn trilogy. :D
Any book written by Dan Abnett will always be a good read, Gaunts Ghosts being my (and probably a majority of his fan's) favorite of his series. The GG series would also probably overall aswell, though its a tough decision to even pick my overall favorite out of the large amount of books from the 40k universe I have in my collection.
Can orks be corrupted by the warp? A friend doodled an ork of Nurgle just for fun and now it got me wondering...
DoW2 is pretty boss.
Can orks be corrupted by the warp? A friend doodled an ork of Nurgle just for fun and now it got me wondering...
Theu could, but they#d probably ge tkilled right away for being Unorky if they were around other orks.
I remember reading someting about a WAAAGH! that went into the Eye but became corupt and another who went there but were slaughtered. Oh and the warboss stabbed a deamon prince between the legs with an axe.

Guess they've been good boyz.
