What's wrong with the Ravenor books?
It just doesn't work for me. I couldn't care about the protagonist, Ravenor at all. The most interesting members of the team are members of Eisenhorns team, namely Harlon Nayl. While the plot of the first one worked alone with minor edits, the second introduced this concept that would fundamentally shake up the entire 40k universe. And it did nothing with it, it was used to break peoples collar bones. It lacked focus and the interesting characters that Eisenhorn had and replaced it with a boring egg-shell and his team of more interesting characters who are sidelined so that Ravenor can complain about his egg.

In other news, goddamn are Tomb Kings annoying to paint without a spray gun. I'm glad I bough two pots of Dheneb Stone. They're just so time consuming though, it took a two days to get two chariots done, and then another 3 days to half complete a unit of warriors, and I still have four characters, a warshpinx, another chariot, a unit of Tomb Guard, and a unit of Sepulchral Stalkers to finish by the end of the month. Never except commisions that don't give you unlimited time kids.
Anyone tried the new KillTeam game yet?

The campaing is the best part of it.

Been looking at the new range of Dark Eldar models, really really tempted to start an army again (had a Dark Eldar army back in third edition, painted them bright orange, black and silver for some reason)
Just lost a leviathan to a lifta-dropper. Rage. Unequivocal rage.
Just lost a leviathan to a lifta-dropper. Rage. Unequivocal rage.
What's a lifta-dropper?
it's a thing on a stompa that lifts and drops
What's a lifta-dropper?
One of these, Poncy orks took out my own personal doom fortress in one hit :(
Where do people buy all these obscure vehicles? I've never seen them on forge world or anything. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] Oh wait it is on forge world, seems they have an updated catalogue.

Does anyone know of a board game or online game for 40k that allows you to attack/defend a planet on a planet-sized scale? My friend and I were thinking of drawing up maps and rules for a game, but I don't want to go through all that effort just to find out something like that already exists.
Hey, so as some of you may recall from earlier in the thread (I'm sure none of you do) I had bought the Assault on Black Reach starter set about a month ago. After a bunch of matches I've realized that the Orks have almost nothing to fight the Terminator squad with. Since the points are obviously tipped in the favor of the Space Marines, what should I buy for the Orks to even out the two armies?
More nobz or killa kans.
Is there a way to give Nobz more firepower? Nothing seems to be able to punch through the Terminator armor.
Give them Power Claws.
Hm, I suppose that'd make sense. I'm still all pretty new to this. Would that cost more points to give them klaws?
To me that looks like a bulldozer fused with a truck and mounted with a gigantic Shokk Attack Gun.
It's wun of em...uhh...what that humie call em....AH! Tracta beam! it liffts and it drops. real funny
I don't know, I don't play orks, only Space marines (and tau when I get a legal army running)

Especially on Chaos Rising's campaign and Retribution's Last Stand (Retribution's Campaign is best played as Space Marines, Impy Goo or Orks IMO).
Anyone else excited for the 40K MMO?
Anyone else excited for the 40K MMO?
Giant titans to get stomped by? Gameworkshop, take all of my monis
Don't they already?
I would like to see how they're going to pull of Imperial guardsmen.
Me and my other Dark Heresy group ran a small game last night, 2v2 1k points per person. Since my opponents were both Imperial Guard and I'd never known them to use anything but platoons of infantry in buildings with camo netting, I took 2 squads of wracks, Haemonculi, 10 Reavers, a Voidwing and 10 warriors in a raider with a blaster for tank hunting. The game starts and they've gone entirely mechansed. 3 Hydras utterly wreck one Raider in the first turn, killing 2 Wracks. Then a Chimera opens fire and explodes another wreck, killing 7 of the Wracks inside. A Sentinel Lascannons the last one, exploding it and killing 5 of the warriors. Now I've turbo-boosted my Reavers behind the Sentinels for that lovely weakened armour but he's infiltrated Marbo there. I just need to get a few shots off before he throws his demo charge.
