I suspect they are giving me a hard time as theirs is a tight-knit community and coupled with my age (15) feel a sense of resentment towards a new-comer.

I am pretty sure that no one has the right to say "Gay Knights" and "Casual" when it comes to Warhammer.
I have decided to stop playing and instead just model and read up fluff. I simply do not have funds to do so or the time to invest in making my models codex-compliant. And instead want to have fun painting my miniatures how I like them. I will still make them as compliant as possible
This is coupled with the fact that the people at the local store are dicks. I had bought both Grey Knight and Space Marine Terminators when the guy looked at me and said, "Fucking casuals", I was browsing through what I should get and had chosen to get both a Dreadnought and Cadian Imperial Guardsmen with Kaldor Draigo (His shield is cool) just to mod him into Hector Rex (Not yet done so), when the guy behind me said, "Dude, you suck, Grey Knights are Gay Knights"
I suspect they are giving me a hard time as theirs is a tight-knit community and coupled with my age (15) feel a sense of resentment towards a new-comer.
So, I am quitting the gaming aspect of Table-top and will instead paint my models as best as I can.
My question, is this a good idea?
Oh yeah, Firestorm over Kronus is really fun :v:
'Fucking casuals'?
'Grey knights are gay knights'?
Is there some kind of stereotype among the TT playerbase to hate Grey Knights?
Anyway, you should just find a new store, don't quit on the gaming aspect of table-top just because some guys were being assholes to you.

I suspect the comment was more directed to there being two armies in my purchase rather than Grey Knights.
There is only one store.

I don't exactly see what's wrong with buying models from two armies.

IT'S HERESY AGAINST THE GOD-HOBBY
or so they say
Does anyone here wants to play some Deathwatch RPG? I want to give it a try but don`t know where to gather a party so I`m trying here.
Does anyone here wants to play some Deathwatch RPG? I want to give it a try but don`t know where to gather a party so I`m trying here.
I'd be up for it.
At my local hobby store I saw:
1.)Assault on Black Reach
2.)Tau Battle Force
3.)Cadian Battleforce
Unfortunately there aren't that many people who play warhammer around here, I was thinking of purchasing the
battleforce so I could paint them. Any Suggestions/Feedback?
So I recently decided I wanna try this.
The problem being that there's no GWS stores in my area, though according to the GWS site there's a few stores that sell their stuff, and on top of that according to the GWS site it costs $100+ for a full set of either of the armies I'm interested in(Tyranid or Necron). :c
That and I don't even know anybody in this city, let alone people who play 40k.

If you mean the Battleforce then it is $100 for a basic army which lacks alot of things which are pretty much needed and doesn't come with things such as paints, brushes, glue etc. Also doesn't come with rulebook or codex.

There's always Vassal if you want to play tabletop.
What does a decent space marine army generally need? I have a commander, a battle force and a dreadnought so far

Were these people obese by any chance?

So only one person?
Where do I look for more people at least?
so what should a tyranid army have in it then? i'm just currently collecting the models because they look cool and it gives me something to do over the summer. so far i've got 5 termaguants a box of hormaguants and eventually, cash and time allowing i'd like a hive tyrant, carnifex, warriors and a trygon.
i'm guessing some genestealers and a shit load more termas/hormas
i need to get a codex/rulebook but they're so damn expensive...
also yeah i'd like to give deathwatch a try if you're going to use that vassal thing
If you're wanting to play Tabletop and don't have a codex and rulebook, you're doing it wrong.

Why did he do to them? I'm not really up-to-date with the latest releases. Although the DreadKnight is stupid.

I just buy them to model (and to do Hector Rex), I only had an interest in a IG or Space Marine Army and had indicated so (they make you fill up this fuckin' form). So it would rile me when people are outright rude to their customers. Place also charges exorbitant prices.
Might begin Warhammer Fantasy to prove a point. Seems cheaper and looks pretty cool. (Empire and Dwarfs)

Not neccesarily cheaper, as WHFB matches tend to be higher points and thus require more models (most armies are large in WHFB anyway)
I went ahead and drew this up in MSpaint, its pretty bad. Its a tyranid, the ravener.

Just curious really, but they make new players (If you walk in and indicate you are new) fill out a form? Whats that about?
Deathwatch is not played through vassal, it is a pen and paper RPG (like Dungeons and Dragons) where you play as space marines.
I'm interested Ant. Not GMing though.
I'm interested Ant. Not GMing though.
I`m not GMing either as I have no experience, creativity, or any interest in it
3 people interested.

He may have desecrated every ounce of fluff about Grey Knights in that codex, but Grey Knights shouldn't be called Gay Knights for his exaggeration.
