Just drybrush Boltgun metal over the Choppa, thena bit of chainmail lightly drybrushed over that. Doesn't look too bad, though you could wash the skin with Devlan Mud (or wash the entire model in it) and then go over it in the green you used (the skin that is) Think Orks are hard? Try LOTR Moria Goblins, they're like half the side of 40k models
Yeah I don't have a ton of paints The only green I have is unfortunately not a good color for Ork skin
No stealers are cared for as lved pets by the cult. The patriarch runs the cult. Though he usually looks like a super fat stealer
Cause he's the first one. The Stealer and Magus run the shop, and the Patriarch (a stealer) is the one running the long game for the cult's well being and activities. The loved pets are the first gen hybrids. Full cycle Stealers are just that, Genestealers, and therefore smarter than your average peoples. All that was set up in WD 113-114, and afaik it's never been changed since.
Not that it really matters though, I'm probably going to go for IG or Tau next I'm just using the AOBR minis for some gaming and to learn how to paint
I swear to god blood angels better be a preset in Space Marine or I will strangle a few Relic employees [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] Nightlords don't get ridiculous wings on their helmets. Entire game ruined.
How dare you call the wings on the Night Lords helmets ridiculous? They're as awesome as the rubric marine helmets.
First mini ever Choppa's too dark, brush is too thick I broke off the head by accident when putting it together but that's nothing a little glue can't fix I didn't bother with flashing too much since I don't plan on going for Orks/SM if I ever start a real army
That's not bad, at least your hands don't shake and make you get paint everywhere you don't want it
I kinda like the MT head. the rest is oh btw those ridiculous night lords helmets are ceremonial
Ceremonial? I thought they only wore them to inspire fear in the enemy.
What you need for Washing: A paint pot and a cup of water
fixed [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] Blood Reaver has them wearing the helmets (stated as ceremonial) simply to impress the Corsairs.
Ceremonial? I thought they only wore them to inspire fear in the enemy.
"By the great God Emperor, look at these helmets!" "Yes Brother Brutus, they are OUTRAGIOUS!" [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] But apparently what they do is what really gives them the fame of scare tactics. I heard about some tale of a spehss mahreen commander/sargent that saw one of his squadmates chained in chaos rhinos with their ribcage open and he got so pissed he killed a bunch of Night Lords with his own fists

God damnit Dark Crusade is crashing on start due to something called BEX does anyone know how to fix it? And now it's just saying appcrash oh boy I do love the highly informative error messages.

Playing DoW online with friends sure is fun :3: But we usually have 5 people so it splits usally into 3 vs 2 I remember one crazy match where, I think unit's hitpiont got bugged, a regular marine squad had almost 60K hp(WAT.) :v: Epic battles were fought in this skirmish. A giant siege of my and my teammate's base. Me as Chaos and him as spehs mahreens. We set up in a valley which led to our bases. We were defending against Tau, Orcs, Necrons, Dark Eldars and 2 Chaos bots. Man it was crazy. Necrons an DE got wiped out by the bots. The Orcs and Tau guys had to go after around 90 minutes. So we were left with bots, we decided to attack their bases, but destroying a SINGLE stronghold took us almost half an hour... AND THERE WERE 3 LEFT, NOT TO MENTION OTHER POSSIBLE ENEMY BASES ON MAP So we gave up :v: Will upload some screens later.
It always pisses me off how Loyalist marines are always more skilled than their Traitorous counterparts. Admittedly, not every chaos marine is an original traitor, but then neither is every Loyalist marine a Heresy veteran. Even if the Loyalists have better maintained equipment, shouldn't renegade chapters also get that equipment? What about the patronage of the dark gods?

CSMs tend to be FAR more experienced than SMs. They've lived a fuckload longer and done a lot more. SM's are simply usually better equipped and work as a team.
They're also rather often exposed to the warp, which isn't exactly good for your mental health.
what i don't understand about CSM is where they get all their geneseed and equipment from. come to think of it where does geneseed come from, various marines often die to tank shells and other means that obliterate everything beyond recovery..

If you mean in the corpse then I think its supposed to be next to or near the heart. Although I could be wrong on both accounts, Rayven Is no doubt going to correct me.
Geneseed was created about 3 or so centuries before the heresy, by the Emperor, while new geneseed can be made by the mechanicum, it's a painstaking process (or rather, cloned is pretty much what happens) it is left unchanged. CSM steal it either from bodies or from storage facilitied. When a Marine is created, theere are two geneseed organs, one which grows in the throat, which can be harvested in a number of years, another, the original implanted one, in the torso, which can only be reclaimed upon that marines death. The Mechanicum tithe loyalist chapters a certain amount of their geneseed now and then, which serves two purposes, one to make sure that the geneseed is still stable, and to allow, once enough geneseed has been amassed, the founding of new chapters where/when they are needed or to rebuild chapters that have suffered massive losses. So for every one geneseed implanted, two can be harvested conditions permitting, although at least one is before the marines go into combat (unless they die while they are a scout before they had it removed) although the Sapce Wolf Blood Claws are an exception. At least one storage facility that holds geneseed has been raided, by the Iron Warriors on Hydra Cordatus. As for their equipment, they either get it by capturing it, or the Dark Mechanicum makes it.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard are Orks to paint in comparison to other races? [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline]

Seen it before, but still awesome The Hivemind :v:
Holy fuck Paul Dobson, he's played some of my favourite characters of all time in other media. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] Jund, I'd say about a 5, not too hard, go well with washes and drybrushing but can have a lot of bitz on them
I know this is late, but please... I love this.

Wow. That Fred guy voicing the Great Unclean One is just amazing, how does he do that?
The same way hes does Saren. Pact with the Devil.
Rogue Trader was 20% off at Borders. :D Also, Eisenhorn is really good and I'm blowing through Xenos at a pretty fast pace.
Read Ravenor series next after you finish the trilogy, ties up some loose characters, and is written in a similar perspective to Eisenhorn (i couldn't get into Ravenor until I'd read eisenhorn, the writing style annoyed me until then) Also, Soul Drinker, get it, and Helsreach too.
I played some matches of Retribution multiplayer 3v3 Me as spehss mahreen, hoboharry as chaos and a bro as tyranids. Playing together. Felt like we were in a Matt Ward's book
