Had a week off and decided to get through some 120 guardsman with some batch painting. Managed about 1 squad >< Don't know if I prefer the cleaner middle or wash dirty right.
IMO the washes look bad, the middle is the best although I have no idea what is going on with the faces Also this is one of the few times I don't need to say you-know-what
Oh lordy
late oh so late
Oh lordy
You hadn't noticed that before? He says that just about every time you put him into a chimera.
I just had an epiphany. What if we took battlefield style gameplay and made a warhammer 40k battlefield game? It would be the greatest thing in existence.
already getting done as a mod for bf2 google it
Too bad it is dead.
Oh lordy
Also wrong vehicle.
Well look at it this way. Each player has a relic close to their base, a relic is necessary for a race to be able to create a super heavy unit, Bloodthirster, Great Knarloc, Land Raider, Squiggoth, Baneblade, Avatar of Khaine, Monolith, Essence of the Nightbringer. Don't you think it's rather unbalanced that every player in the map can make those units without any trouble?
don't you think it would be insanely unbalanced if only a set of players could easily create these units whereas the rest could not? Admittedly if I had designed the map, I would have put the relics in front of the bases as opposed to behind them. But as it stands they are still contestable with jump troops farely easily. But at the end of the day - easy relic for everyone > easy relic for only a limited amount of players.
Is there a good book about the actual creation of the space marines, with the Emperor creating 20 Primarchs and them getting lost etc.?
Is there a good book about the actual creation of the space marines, with the Emperor creating 20 Primarchs and them getting lost etc.?
The First Heretics has a scene in the gene labs and descriptions of the whole set-up and how the primarches were created by the Emperor. Later, the protagonist is shown where each pod is laid to rest and how each Primarch first appeared into the world [sp]However, descriptions of the process are suspect as the protagonist(A Word Bearer) is viewing them with the help of a Daemon and the Daemon is narrating for the protagonist. States they were formed with the help of the Chaos Gods in exchange for the Emperor enlightening humanity about Chaos and when the Emperor does not honour the pact scatters them throughout the galaxy. Each primarch pod has a gellar field which was to prevent this happening(The fields fail).[/sp]
And do you know any diaries or wiki articles that are a great read?
Xenobiology is a pretty good read. It butchers fluff, but it's a nice diversion.
I meant some written stories online, not a book.

Oh, Horus Heresy books. I should definitely read those seeing as I play BA and, you know, Sanguinius gets killed. I probably don't need to tell you that :v:
too bad there are no BA heresy books and the timeline is nowhere close to the invasion of terra yet
To be honest the HH books have now gotten very non sequential.
Are they meant to be then? I have no experience with the HH books.
i've been wondering whats been going on with the HH books, they've spiraled off into stuff i don't give a damn about anymore and they just seem to be a money grab, especially that sodding tales of heresy which was complete waste of time.
Blood Games and The Last Church are fucking awesome though. Games Workshop...Money Grab? NEVEEEER!
Is there a good book about the actual creation of the space marines, with the Emperor creating 20 Primarchs and them getting lost etc.?
False Gods. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] If you're gonna read that though, might as well just grab Horus Rising and Galaxy in Flames as well and read em in order. They're all good.
I guess the HH books just aren't for everyone. I found them boring personally.

Found this little jewel in the old Rogue Trader rulebook. Technically it has not been written out either, so in a way you can pretend the Doctor has been to the 40k universe a few times.
Is there any good book about your regular follower of chaos?
Is there any good book about your regular follower of chaos?
Maybe not "regular" but I have a special place for Lord Of the Night for chaos related bookery.
Soul Hunter/Blood Reaver are good Chaos related books, though not explicitly so.
