What do you mean exactly? Anyway, that's just Space Marines who look like that (basically are a superhuman walking tank).

For the 2nd picture, that's the Emperor. So of course he has to have the most over-the-top, shiny suit of armour possible.

Been wanting to try this ever since I was a child. Glad I finally did!
I have five Space Marines for practice and once I am good enough I'll go ahead and start a nice Imperial Guard army.

There are quite a few errors that I only noticed as I looked at the pictures. I could try and fix those once I get a smaller brush.

Luckily, the store I buy things from let you play there for free and they have a TON of pieces for you to use.

Now I just have to get a nice army so I can actually take advantage of that.

At my store, we used to have it so that on weekends, you could paint, battle, and in addition to that, there would always be a ton of Warhammer Fantasy pieces, so you would be allowed to make one Warhammer Fantasy model each weekend/each day of the weekend.
I usually got a tomb king each weekend there, they're cool.
Also, not a bad job at painting that space marine, better than mine at least, good job. :v:

Yeah. The main problems I see is the lack of shading and too thick paint (seriously thin it). With thinner paint you can do multiple layers which always looks nicer, you can apply ink washes more comfortably, and you can pay more attention to detail (the eyes, for example, look pretty bad). Also remember to try drybrushing, it's a simple and fast technique to make your troops look less flat. Don't listen to those who shun on it because it's too "easy".

I have absolutely no motivation to paint. Right now, I have two Rhinos and two Vindicators unpainted and unassembled along with a tactical squad I paintstripped.
To make matters worse, I lost my awesome table. Now I'm stuck with a shitty white board for my workbench that I absolutely detest working at.
