Just got into WH, first game is retribution and I love it. I heard there are books?
There are a lot of books, mostly revolving around Space Marines and Imperial Guard though.
This is what happens when you don't thin your paints [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3865912/1312758189063.jpg[/t]

I don't usually thin my paints and they turn out fine? why? because i don't just glop it on there, i actually wipe my brush off before painting.
(Oh, and i didn't make this, in case any of you were wondering.)
One reason I'd like to work on some Ork machinery, is because mishmashes like this are encouraged.
Finished ideas for my inquisitor retinue. Inquisitor Ratling sniper A Jokaero 2-3 Guardsmen 2 Hive Gangers Ork Kommando (mercenary) Psyker Warrior monk Space marine (not sure which chapter) Eldar ranger (be lookin' for soul stones) Will make the warband bigger but not sure who else to include yet. P.s before you start shitting in rage this is a radical inquisitor group.
That space marine would try and murder all the xenos there.
That space marine would try and murder all the xenos there.
Reasonable Marine?
This is what happens when you don't thin your paints [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3865912/1312758189063.jpg[/t]
That is what happens when you're shit at painting tbh
That space marine would try and murder all the xenos there.
I didn't specify that the marine is going to be a gone rogue one like the relictors.
Just got into WH, first game is retribution and I love it. I heard there are books?
There are books for Fantasy as well, but the genre is rather neglected as GW makes more money from 40k with its Spehss Muhreens. Recommended books for 40k are: The Eisenhorn Omnibus; An Inquisitor (Think FBI/CIA) in the serve of the Imperium of Man tracks down Heresy, but it's a slippery slope. The Space Wolves Omnibus; Ragnar Blackmane, a famous Space Wolf captain recalls the past, how he came to be one of the Wolves and how he stuck a spear in Magnus the Reds eye. Lord of the Night; A Night Lords Chaos Marine wakes up after being trapped aboard his ship for 10 millenia, he must track down his birthright, the Corona Nox. Storm of Iron; Told from the perspective of an Iron Warrior Chaos Marine, the Iron Warriors must conquer an out of the way Imperial bastion for the prize within. I'm more of a Fantasy person myself though, others will probably recommend more.
and this is why I will probably never paint anything.
It takes a lot to be quite that bad.
I didn't specify that the marine is going to be a gone rogue one like the relictors.
Your Inquisitor appears to be doing all he can to be declared a Heretic without committing actual heresy. He is radical beyond radical it seems.
Disassembled it and moved it upstairs when my extended family came over for Christmas. Luckily, I just have to find all the screws for it, and I'll move it back.
If you can't find all the screws, just buy new ones. Good luck.

My first models were from the LOTR range and they looked reasonably good. The moment I went into 40k though my first models were absolute shite. The LOTR models were better because: 1)They were Heroes 2)They were all I had, I wasn't even buying them from the stores they just came with this old promotional magazine called "battles of middle earth". To paint something well you need to experiment and be patient. If something screws up remove the paint or paint over it. And don't force yourself to paint the rest of a squad just to get them done, paint something exotic and different between forming hordes of similar models. Recently I ran out of Orks to paint (absolute charms, because every model is never quite the same) so I went out and bought an Empire Battle Wizard kit. I don't even play the fantasy game. Ive got a GK squad to finish, SM devastators, 36 Imperial Guard which haven't even been built yet, an I.G command squad, a Leman Russ and a Valkrie. Just off the top of my head.
I would try out some of the warhammer books but I can't risk being seen going to the section of Waterstones where they keep them. The Neckbeards man. Far as the eye can see. I'll buy some online, any ones I should start with in particular?

Dawn of war -Cs Goto I have read these, and despite a lot of controversy over slight mistakes within the lore , they are thoroughly enjoyable books. Space Marine Battle Novels These are new and whilst I haven't read any they are supposedly very good reads. Ciaphas Cain Another series on a I.G Commisar. He always tries to avoid trouble, but somehow he always finds it and overcomes it, giving him a deadly reputation. Also excellent. Space Wolves -William King and Lee Lightner By far the best Space Marines series I have ever read. The Combat is thrilling, the plot clever and intricately woven, and the writers aren't so far up their own arses it isn't readable. They are about the ascension of a tribal man on Fenris, who grows to become a Famous Wolf Lord in the Space Wolves chapter. There are 2 sets of books, the first is written by William King and the second by Lee Lightner. The 1st is heavily orientated around Ragnar, and the second is more about the lore, Ragnar's Wolf Gaurd and the Chapter itself. You can read the second first and it will still make sense if you wish. The Omnibus is an absolute bargain and I personally assure you it will be worth every penny. The Horus Heresy This series is a massive project between the most well known Warhammer writers, detailing the events and battles of the Horus Heresy, and how Chaos Marines came to be. Just off the top of my head.
That space marine would try and murder all the xenos there.
Grey Knights use Jokaero as weaponsimths and tactical advisors.
Also people need to stop raving about squats because they're the demiurg now
Hnnnnng so many more Orks to paint before I can start on my SM
Or you ca, you know, stop being a pussy and just ignore them
At least you know where to look for the books, I don't even know if they exist in Egypt or not.
Hnnnnng so many more Orks to paint before I can start on my SM
get a spray gun and spray green on them, then give them a devlan mud wash and do some slight highlights if you want as well as paint the clothes and give a black wash, so easy.
