It's always storm bolter + powerfist, thunder hammer + storm shield, double lightning claws, or autocannon + powerfist

Thunder Hammer & Lightning Claw = Massive overbalance when trying to strike with either. Two autocannons (actually assault cannons) = probably enough recoil to tip the terminator backwards and if they happens, they need help getting up like turtles.

As a last bit manufacturing. The impperium just can't halt the production of half a forgeworld to reconfigure it to manufacture a new slightly better lasgun. It's much more economic to just levy more guardsmen.

Yeah sorry about the autocannon mixup
But if they can carry missile racks on their backs and still fight effectively it seems a bit strange that powerfist / lightning claw + thunder hammer would cause problems
Also has it even been specified why they don't use heavy bolters or generally more CC weapons with more range than your hand? You'd think a power sword, or damn even chainsword on a terminator would be much more effective. The double assault cannon isn't meant to be fired at the same time either
That reminds me, do power-chainswords exist? You'd think they'd be even better at cutting tanks apart than chainfists.
It's just how the game/codex has been developed, don't try reading too much into it.

I wonder, assault terminators obviously have to fight face-to-face with enemies all the time, so you'd think they would get knocked down every now and then. There has to be a solution for the problem
Maybe they can use their teleporters?
Teleporting wouldn't flip you right side up, It'd mostly be stance and leaning forward that'd keep terminators in close combat on their feet.
Also teleporting is risky at the best of times.
I still don't get how space marines spawn/teleport in retribution, are they riding the lightning to the battlefield?

They descend from their battle barge or fleet with a drop pod.
Said drop pod lands on the HQ, and the space marines are out there after the HQ has taken in the drop pod.

It's annoying as fuck in DoW II (and the expansions) how they assign different keys for the same special abilities when using different units. I want the same fucking key for jump pack both on assault marines and the force commander. But nooo, they must be different. Consistency is so bad.

I loved that part of the trilogy because [sp]he was shown an accurate vision of the future. The Chaos entity/prescence thing didn't have to lie or fabricate anything. What Horus saw was exactly what would happen by the 41st millenium. Just not how he thought.[/sp]

Fuck, are the Avatars of Khaine in Chaos Rising as bad as in base DoW II? Because I remember spending an hour to kill one on the easiest difficulty.
