Great...spoilers for Space Marine in the Dev video...[sp]the Inquisitor gets possesed[/sp]
Fuck, are the Avatars of Khaine in Chaos Rising as bad as in base DoW II? Because I remember spending an hour to kill one on the easiest difficulty. I'm now on an AoK mission (terminator armor as a reward, baby) but I didn't realize this before starting, so I'm not carrying plasma cannons or lascannons or missile launchers or anything, just my standard assault FC / assault / tactical / I HAVE COME TO DESTROY YOU setup.
aok is nothing compared to goddamn 1.2 million hitpoints final boss holy shit
[editline]11th August 2011[/editline]
Also run cyrus in every single mission

You just don't know when, so it's not fully spoiled :v:
Wait arent they trained not to be possesed or corupted?
Yes, but it still happens. Only the Grey Knights have never been corrupted/possessed.

They were in Matt Ward`s wild fantasies.
I'm reading 1d4chan and is it true that Matt Ward is such a moron? Blood Angels and Necrons working together against Tyranids? The fuck?

Let's hope GW fires his ass before the entire fanbase quits WH40K because of his ridiculous game-breaking rules and retarded fluff.
I really wish the Grey Knights looked more than just Unpainted space marines with a different helmet. They are supposed to be like THE BEST space marines.
Like this concept art would have been AWESOME:

Also, should have not been Matt Ward.

Well [sp] It's obviously not before we meet him, in the cutscene that was shown, which means he survives until chaos arrives [/sp]
Those don't look very "grey" to me.

I don't really like Cyrus. But yeah, the AoK in Chaos Rising was easy as shit. Took me a bit of kiting when Thule went under but I got the machine rites on him and autocannon barraged the Avatar to death. It's so satisfying seeing chaos space marines blowing up into red mush.
You act like they never crack jokes, throughout all of the Ultramarine books Uriel Ventris and Pasanius crack jokes on occasion even when [sp]they're banished from the chapter for breaking the Codex[/sp]
I know they would make jokes, I just wouldnt expect it coming from an Ultramarine, since, from what I have read, are the most loyal to the codex, altho I'm not sure if the codex covers anything about making jokes.
Also [sp]if you get banished from your own chapter, might as well just crack a joke or two.
Btw, what happens if you get banished from your chapter? Are you labeled heretic and get killed or something?[/sp]
I've thrown my piss into the fire with yarrick and painted him purple gold red insted of the usual black red gold. i don't even play IG i just wanted Yarrick to go with Ghazghkull

Cyrus is by far the most powerful mofo there is in your arsenal. Specially if you go on the Primarch difficulty. God, the sniper shot is just so fucking strong.
He's not all that shit on retribution tho, I prefer going with the termies

Really now? Not even the egyptian god has a theme? Let alone 40k Horus?
Finally managed to beat the Anvil of Khorne on Retribution earlier.

Holy shit, congrats. The only time I got to level 20 we managed to beat angelos right off, but got our shit slapped into the warp by the rest of the termies

So..um, WH 40k seem rather interesting, could any of you recommend a way to get into it?
Like a book, or a game?

I wouldn't really know what book to get, but if you'd like a game, you should try out the Dawn of War series.
Good RTSs, but you should note that Dawn of War 2 features no base building, in case you liked that feature.
There's also the upcoming TPS 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine', anyway, look at the OP if you want more info on these games.

Personally i suggest you try dawn of war, not wa or dc or ss or dow2 but just good ol' dow.

Is it just me or is this a 40k cliche?
Not all that much actually, Inquisitors rarely get posessed.
Not all that much actually, Inquisitors rarely get .
Well I don't mean just [sp]possession[/sp], I just mean [sp]Chaos-y[/sp] in general. It happened in the Blood Angels Omnibus. Happens in the game. Could've sworn I knew of another case where it happened.
Might want to add spoiler tags for those that care about not spoiling Space Marine a little
It's an occupational hazard of an Inquisitor.
As Ravenor put it best, something along these lines "It's not whether we become radical or not, it's how much good we can do before we fall."
I just did the mission in retribution as the space marines where the scottish imperial guard guy chases you around in his Baneblade.
There arn't enough scottish people in videogames.
